James McGeachie Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I love the potential this game has because the concept for the DS one seemed to awesome but I hope there isn't too much focus on waggle for the farming controls. I think I heard about that being an issue in that other Wii Harvest Moon, that constant waggle for every single action was one hell of a chore, considering how often you do them every single day in the game.
Retro_Link Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Come on guys, why is the main site sitting on a gem like this?! We have forums you know! [extremely tongue-in-cheek!] Trailer http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12079 Good job getting this trailer guys! Looks great!
Tales Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 It looks great, but I wish they did more than making a 3D remake of the original. Although it looks beautiful I have already walked around the town, the beach and the dungeons a hundred times. It even has the same main characters.
ThePigMarcher Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 The trailer has me even more pumped for this , and the wait to some point in 2009 is going to be a long one.
Emasher Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 The original was great. If they fix the bugs that it had, this could be the best 3rd party Wii game.
flameboy Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Looks pretty darn tooting sweet, I have thought about getting the DS version in the past but think I will wait for this.
Coolness Bears Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 This game looks great. I'm going to hold out for the Wii version now aswell. The little blob things remind me of Dewy. :p
darksnowman Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Looking good, thanks for posting them up D_Pr0d. C. Bears is right, I was thinking that them wee things look like Dewy too! I'm still up for getting the DS one as long as its not delayed any further- it should be a nice precursor to this Wii version.
Dante Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Natsume's Rune Factory was a change of pace for the normally-staid Harvest Moon series -- a fantasy-infused take on the farming sim where you spend time not just tending to the crops, but also exploring dungeons to kill and/or tame the monsters lurking about inside. The formula worked well enough to merit a sequel which is hitting the US this fall, and now some more details have been released on Rune Factory Frontier, a brand-new Wii game and the first time this particular series has hit a non-portable platform. You once again play the role of Raguna, good-natured adventurer and occasional farmer, as he ventures to a new land and tames it to do his bidding. As before, you have to carefully tend to your crops and animals if you want any chance of success, and you'll uncover monster lairs as you explore the world around the village that serves as your home base. Mist, the lovely girl that saved Raguna's hide in the original Rune Factory, is back -- but now she's only one of approximately nine girls in Frontier who could potentially become your lover and wife, including twin girls named Eris who have the strange power to communicate with spirits. There's a load of new stuff to check out in Frontier, not least of which are the new 3D visuals and a wealth of original anime sequences to introduce the girls as you encounter them. In the game world there are spirits known as Runies that float about; there are four types of them (Aqua, Tree, Rock and Grass), and they co-exist with each other in a set food chain. If you can keep the Runie population well-balanced, relocating certain Runie types to and fro to ensure no single type grows too numerous, then your crops will grow faster -- keep it unbalanced, and you'll run into some major farming problems. These Runies can also be used by a certain NPC in-game to create miracles known as Rune Wonders; you can summon these to make your monsters friendlier, cause certain plant types to grow quickly, and so forth. And that's still not even the half of it. To be blunt, Frontier is a huge world, with everything from whale-shaped islands in the sky to a mail service that lets you exchange items with your Rune Factory 2 game, and if you're an OCD personality game-wise, you may want to pay close attention before it ensnares you permanently. Japanese Wii owners will get their first glance at the Neverland-developed title November 27; the game has not been formally announced for America yet. 1up.com
Nicktendo Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 This game looks awesome! I love Harvest Moon games and have done ever since the original gameboy one. I've always felt they lacked something though. Who needs Fable 2?
killer kirby Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Wow, me liking a lot. Also, people should check this site frequently.... http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/wii/runefactory/index.html It get's updated frequently ^^
Dazkarieh Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Awesome! At its scale, this game is showing how Wii should be treated by third parties.
Deathborn Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 This game suddenly became a big no-no for me. Seriously, what's the point of being able to date girls if they are all flat-chested?!? No boobs makes me sad...

Deathborn Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 These are little girls DeathBorn I know... sadly... Japan and their loli obsession. But in Harvest Moon, you can get married and have a child. Isn't it a little too "weird" to be able to do that with little girls? (if it's possible in this game too since it's a fantasy Harvest Moon game afterall) Anyway, my post wasn't serious. Still looking forward to this game.
killer kirby Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 God I can't wait for this game now xD EDIT: A better trailer is now showing on the main Rune Factory site. It's small but at least you can hear it
