spirited away Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Who else played this, this week? I thought the demo was brilliant and the controls worked perfectly with the frenetic, fluid nature of the gameplay. The first-person view also creates a great sense of motion and danger - which adds to the tension. I found it really rewarding mapping out a route in my mind and just charging through the level at breakneck speed. My only gripe would be that the demo level was distincly linear, with little scope for diverging from the given path. Needless to say, it has piqued my interest considerably.
Hero-of-Time Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 PS3 owners will get the demo tomorrow while 360 owners will get the demo on Friday. I havent decided if im gonna buy this on release day, the demo will make that choice for me.

I think this game could turn out to be quite special...
Guest Jordan Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Banjo, Mirror's Edge and the possible NXE for me tomorrow. Sounds awesome.
spirited away Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Another thing I have to say, is that the sound was brilliant: running on concrete, crashing against pipes, smashing open doors...all added to the immersion. Beautiful game as well. Clicked with me anyway.
Dyson Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 possible NXE for me tomorrow. Elaborate please? : peace:
Guest Jordan Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Elaborate please? : peace: Preview program, but i didn't get in
Shino Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Europe doesn't have sky scrappers, why does it feel so European?
Cube Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 So you buy Time Trial mode? It's just a code to unlock it in the demo.
Guest Jordan Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 One of the most fun and definitely the most fresh playing game i've played all year. Not fond of the controls on the PS3 version, probably be far better on the 360 controller. But yeah, glad i pre ordered it.
EchoDesiato Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I can't wait to get home. I need to play this!
flameboy Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Fantastic game from the demo. If you are having shooter fatigue, it won't matter with this game as it really isn't a shooter. The genre definition of FPS doesn't really fit this game. Edge said it would work if it's Fast Paced Stunts though. The first person view makes the game feeling so fresh and new, if it was a third person game it really wouldn't feel as invigorating as it does. My only problem now is when to get it. With Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 my only preordered games for this year as money is tightish I think this will have to join Dead Space as game for next year.
spirited away Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Is there a demo on the store and live? Store. Yes. Live. Friday.
spirited away Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Played through this demo 3 times now - I can't get enough of it. Feels so fresh and rewarding. Best wall-jump mechanic in a game ever?
martinist Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 downloaded this 2 hours ago from marketplace and haven't stopped playing it. I'm glad i had this on pre-order, going to be an awesome game. Although it won't connect to XBL for timetrile leaderboards for some reason.
