So why are you Racist?

Racism flows in all sorts of directions, yet white > another colour is looked down upon a lot harsher than another colour > white. At the end of the day its not colour that bothers me, its different (retarded) cultures and religion.

Same view as me.

And what a load of bollocks about working for less to beat the Polish into a job. They are hardly more qualified than us either, most have little or no understanding of English (Or thats what they are like round here anyway). It is all about them working for less. 90% of all the workers at Sports World HQ are Polish which i doubt very much is by coincidence.

I'm not racist, i just don't like Eastern Europeans i.e Polish people who come into this country and steal our jobs. I had polish people steal my job once about a year and a 1/2 ago and i hated them ever since, i got released because of "cuts" and then no sooner did i leave, the Polish turned up. Boss said they were cheaper to hire than me and 3 others.

But other cultures are cool, and i have no problems with other cultures and races, just have problems with East Europeans

What retard reasoning is that? Just because some Polish bloke 'stole' your job, you have something against all Eastern Europeans? Would you have something against all English people if some English bloke would've stolen your job instead?

Then write a letter to your local Mp, atleast do something other than sit in a fit of rage. What I do find annoying though is how some managers/employers of a certain ethnicity (Black, White, Asian etc) always fill their positions with that ethnic group. I see it clearly with Asian store managers. Thats just simply unfair and runs counter to what ethnic minorities in countries fight against; discrimination.

I'm bored of racism, why can't everyone just get over the fact people have different skin colors and cultures, and just get on and live in the culture they're in, whether that is the one they were born into or not.

One of lifes mysteries apparently. Whats so fustrating is that its such a non-issue. I think the only thing that can truly unite man would be an alien invasion...But I'm sure even after that we'll go back to our old ways.

I have since lightened up, a readdressed the errors of my ways :p...A joke is a joke, but ofcourse not everyone has the capacity to know when to stop.

For example; I see nothing wrong with a white dude saying 'Nigga' in a sort of paradoic sense like "I'm gonna whoop your ass, nigga" in a nice private setting but when you're out in public its such a sensitive word you'll be liable for a little slice and dice. Not everyone can get the joke.

That's a really nice thing to say, I'm rather happy you reached that conclusion.

So it's ok when i'm with my mates, walk up and go, "'sup niggas"?

Also, what are you King V? (as in ethnicity)

Hahahaha, thought you'd never ask...Even though I posted a few pics; I'm Nubian, otherwise known as 'Black'...Wait WAIT! Don't you lynch me. :P

As for the latter its all about your personal circles. But i'm all for taking the venom out of the word, and only with us, the new gen, can this happen. Banning a word is a stupid idea because it only creates the sensation to use it. Like banning wanking for example. :P

Sorry mate but IMO that has to be on of the most ignorant short sighted things ive read in along TIME. How dare you suggest to him too work for less money so he can keep his job- oh sorry that the job is not taken over by someone who is willing to work for less more money.

What your doing there fish is simply blindly accepting sheer corperate greed perhaps in the name of political correctness

I love the way I'm being called short sighted by the person who obviously can't read... I suggested he work for less money so he can keep his job so that, um, he can keep his job!

The employers may be arsewipes, but that's their problem. They'll do what they can to save money, as long as it's within the law (although some go beyond that from time to time...), and I can understand why they are doing it, but that doesn't mean I agree with it.

Most importantly, I say "well done" to the immigrants. They're willing to work for less money than other people, yet they demonstrate time and time again that they are as good as, if not better at their jobs than those they replace. They deserve the full amount, if not more. Unfortunately, the companies don't see it that way. If you don't want to get replaced at work, make yourself a valued employee.

I am racist and it's because of personal experiences. Though, it's usually prejudice, and if I get a good first impression then suddenly my racist tendencies don't apply to the person in question. If I get the usual response to a "Hello" which is fuck all, then I can't help but think of them as *****.

Yay another nonsensical post by Dyson! I should plan my posts more carefully in future..

I think its amazing that a young woman got murdered for not wanting to be part of an arranged marriage.

My girlfriend's sister has been seeing an asian guy for 6 years now, and his parents don't know about her otherwise they would dis-own him. I'm sorry but dis-owning someone because they would like to have that choice, again, is retarded.

It's not colour that does it for me at all, that has zero effect on me. It's origin and culture, and the way that most of the foreigners that I serve at Tesco treat English people like scum.

As an English person who got foul treatment from a foreigner you're inclined to think that way, but have you stopped to noticed if that same foreigner treats other people the same? Because they do. Truth is some cultures just don't value the little details as we do (such as saying thank you or even smiling at times), which I'm sure you've experienced a lot of as a cashier.

Its like expecting to hear please from a klingon. I don't have the answer to this but basically its much more productive to treat people on an individual basis rather than sling everyone in the same pot. Culture is not the be all and end all; you will find some plain rude English people after all.

I'll go a little deeper, as a Black dude I experience a fair bit of stealthy shite from a few white people. I've noticed that some do silly stuff like whistle in front of you or around you, inhale sharply or pretend to cough especially when you walk past someone. I once thought prejudging every white person as shite until proven otherwise was the easiest route but all that produced was negativity within me and sympathy to my friends and other white people who are actually good, fuck that. As soon as you get an almost extrasensory sense of your mortality you begin to realise how bullshitic this all really is. Ultimatly it is incredibly stupid to judge a broad group of people by a few individuals.

You know, I hadn't thought of that actually, you make a fair point. Even so..I've come to expect it in my society, no matter who the person I'm serving is. If I get a shitty customer who happens to be of British origin, no matter the race I'll be just as pissed..it just takes longer for me to reach the stage at which I know I'm dealing with someone who doesn't hold courtesy as part of their values.

Of course. I realise that; and see your point.

Unfortunately it's not the minority that I got this from in this case. 90% of the time the impression they give off to me is "I don't even want to have to look at you, do my work for me" and the other 10% it's absolutely fine and they don't have a problem.

I'm not asking for them to engage in a conversation with me to earn respect from me, just a simple Hello in response to the one I give out and a look that doesn't convey utter disrespect is all I ask.

That, and it's be nice if they could learn to speak English.

Well, maybe you should be willing to work for less money? If you were, then companies wouldn't replace you with people who will work for less.

I hope that is sarcasm. Maybe it is because I'm an American, but I find that to be complete and utter bullshit. Never settle for less because you will keep giving everything up until you have nothing left. But then again, the American workforce is radically different than all of Europe. We take less vacations, bust more ass, and get paid less and we smile while we do it. As long as we have our beer, porn, and weapons we're good to go generally speaking. :P

As for racism, I'm not racist. I can understand why somebody would be but it is not something I am. Too often people who live in the Western culture can never understand why racism exists to begin with and most of the time, its roots are fairly legitimate however sad that it happens. The only thing that cures racism is for something greater to topple it. World War II did a damn good job of it, maybe it is time for a World War III? But for that to happen, an economic downfall has to go first.

War is for the purpose of driving economies, always have been and always will and no country in this world can ever claim otherwise. I digress though, I should put my head back into my Political Science studies and less about Nintendo. :D

I fail to see how racism is 'legitimate'. The Black people in your country got captured in Africa, bundled and Fedex'd to the Americas. They worked the plantations whilst getting bull-whipped or extraordinarily abused in some other way, I strongly believe it is their work that built up the economy of America and much of the western World to the level it is today...Then their freedom came and what did they get? KKK members hunting them like prized game and 'Whites Only' hospitality...All for WHAT? What did these people ever do to them but do as they were told? White people did nothing to honour the labour of these guys. These are the grass roots of the racism in America - how are they legitimate? You seem to symphasise with racists? Why?

It's weird, I'm heavily aware that social, cultural, economic and religious factors tend to give races of people a overlaying (and we are talking very losely here) personality. For instance, the people that I have met from Tanzania and Kenya seem to be really fun loving people but have this ridged fortitude which seems to derive from the nature of Christianity in the area. In the way that they have been brought up and the way they think they have this very focused and strict edge, its like when they're ont having fun and games everything is damn serious.

Now, I wouldn't say that I expect everyone from this area of the world to be like that but I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if the next one I meet is. I guess I do to some extent but it doesn't stop me for seeing what a person is really like.

Some people would see this as racist. But it has never hurt anyone and never will. Just occasionally makes me look a bit silly but I just demonstrate that this is out of naeivety rather than aggressive stereotyping.

So am I racist?

For what its worth I say hello and smile to all my Tesco cashiers ^^...and offer a little wink to those cute ladies that ask if I have a clubcard. XD

i know a guy like that........................................

apparently i'm racist.

when i'd just started college (ahh so long ago) some guy saw me doodling a little white bendy man and a little black bendy man dancing together (their limbs were all curly and it made a pattern ^__^) he looked over my shoulder and said, jokingly, "ooh, you a racist!"

i look behind me to find possibly the biggest black guy i've ever seen looking down at me with a cheeky grin

"uhm, huh??" was my reply...

he pointed to the paper and said

"look, see, i said you're a racist!" still grinning.

i feigned being horribly offended and came back with "oh...oh yeah?! well.... you're black!".. to which we both cracked up and were friends all through college and uni ^__^ it became our little in-joke, which if anyone had overheard i'm sure i'd have been beaten to death or something.

@ jamba: you're talking about knowing people are different, not looking down on them because they are different... i find it so weird that some people are still honestly ignorant enough to believe that certain cultures or races or colours are lower or higher than others... i mean of course everyone is different, different cultures and upbringings mean people will react to situations in differe- ...not the same ways (goooo synonyms!) so i dont think that knowing and anticipating that would make you racist at all...

GAH! i'm one of those "carters" who say different a LOT..

We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams. — Jimmy Carter

No. Neither is the guy who talked about arranged marriage. Both are cultural-religious.

It seems you'er right about you being an American - the closed minded view suggests you are.

It's not a case of work for less, it's a case of be a better worker that the people who are willing to work for less. If you're not a better worker, than be prepared to get paid less. The American workforce gets more holidays (the same we do, along with 4th July, President's Day, Thanksgiving), more pay, relative to prices, by quite a substantial chunk, and the need for weapons show insecurity.

No, war is often for the purpose of driving economics when you want to have both ends of the trading chain. However, there are exceptions. Look at the Falklands. Look at Kosovo.
