EDIT 14: Futher tapped power of PS3... more enemies onscreen, better AI, better lighting and shaders (SCREENSHOTS LOOK AMAZING!!!). More comples normal mapping and detail mapping combine to deliver textures that look amazing from afar and at extremely close distances. EDIT 15: AI getting a lot more attention.. will scaled on-the-fly to players perspective and viewpoint... aka enemies cloesr to the player will actually have more spohisicated AI routines than those further away. assailants in your direct field of view received heightened intelligence. easily more cunning than before sorry for typos... typing fast EDIT 16: listened to complaints... working on solution to long checkpoints and health system. not positive what final solution will be. That Guy
Sounds good. I think if I ever get through my mountain of games and need something to play on PS3 I might pick up resistance. Always thought it looked quite good.
Gizmo
Is it just me who is sceptical about a Fall 08 release? Seems to be a game of huge scope, and the PS3 is supposed to be really hard to develop for.
Owen
Yeah this is amazing news! and another reason to get a PS3 guys, seriously!! Fall 08 seems a little too early though, like Gizmo said. I reckon it will slip till early Next year! Unless they started work on it immediately after Resistance in 2006....
AshMat
That's pretty damn good for a console, 60 people multiplayer.
Hero-of-Time
Is it just me who is sceptical about a Fall 08 release? Seems to be a game of huge scope, and the PS3 is supposed to be really hard to develop for. Its pretty realistic to be honest as Insomniac have released a game at the end of the year since they started the Ratchet and Clank series. Like Naughty Dog they have a great understanding of how the PS3 works, I mean just look at the visual quality of Tools of Destruction. Amazing news if true as Resistance is a gem of a game that too many people dismiss because its not Halo. Heres some pics peeps!

Aimless
Shame the screenshots are a bit rubbish. I don't mean the graphics look bad, they just don't really show anything other than a more humanised Chimaera. I suppose it's all a part of 'first look syndrome'. Still, I definitely have high hopes for this game. The original Resistance is a lot better than many give it credit for, but Insomniac — which is a really accurate name given their prolificness — can easily improve on it. Hopefully they've taken the criticisms of the first on board. Oh, and if anyone else had announced a 60-player console game I'd have been sceptical. Good ol' dedicated servers. Domstercool
This is sweet. I found the first game good, even if it didn't do anything new, it was still a good game to play through. This just takes what it did to the next level and I'm so creaming for it!

Choze
The whole thing sounds too good to be true. Then again Resisatnce had alot in it. The story mode was longer than both Halo 3 and COD4 combined... Multiplayer is crazy and well supported too. Is it just me who is sceptical about a Fall 08 release? Seems to be a game of huge scope, and the PS3 is supposed to be really hard to develop for. They are called Insomniac since they dont sleep Then again no clue when this is coming. I doubt this and Killzone will come out at the same time. Maybe a month between them?
Domstercool
Insomniac already did Resistance 1 and Ratchet and Clank on the PS3. And from what I've seen of reports going around, alot of companies are now getting the hang of the PS3 and it's becoming more easier to make games on it. That Guy
Plus they are a Playstation developer so it's likely (especially considering how good Ratchet looks) they've already got the hang of developing for PS3.
