Rate The Last TV Show You Saw (Spoiler Tags for Recent US Shows!)

Recommended Posts

And where did you see that one....the new episode doesn't air until for a few hours in America....

...Oh. The website I watched it on listed the episode with the wrong title. I'm now officially confused as to what I've watched and what I haven't. Was the last one before the hiatus the one on new years, where there's a death right at the end?

(Also I just saw U-rated skins style advert for 90210 on E4....YES! Finally I get to see what the "fuss" was about).

I watched the first two episodes of 90210 and it was dire. I think it apparently improves a bit but meh.

As far as Gossip Girl goes. The one that aired last week (the first post-haitus one) ended with...

Dan finding out Rufus and Lily have a child but agreeing not to tell Serena while Rufus and Lily go hunting for it.

That the one you watched? (Land of the Basses or something like that)

All caught up with Prison Break now.

I've enjoyed all the seasons, and loved the development of t-bag and mahone, and almost shed a tear for bellik. Lincoln's just becoming a thug, and this whole inter-company conspiracy thing is kinda cool but makes the show 'easy' - nearly anything is possible, and that's often annoying. Also, the guys are still fugitives and just wandering around, plain as day.

It's been a good watch, but I'm not sure I would be so impressed if I had to watch it week by week. Too often they use last-second cliff-hangers that are resolved in the first minute of the next show. Too often there's some crazy coincidence that delays the plan/saves the day, and too often there seems to be no logic behind anything at all.

But it is entertaining, and it is still going somewhere, I just don't know how much I ever cared for The Company, or for Scofields' family.

Yeah, that's the one. Phew, I thought I'd missed one. I'm so pleased! Ooo, this means I get to see the next episode tomorrow. Happy days indeed.

I'd give 90210 a miss Haggis. It is terrible. Go watch a decent teen show like One Tree Hill :)

See, I've tried one tree hill, and it bores me to tears. It's just so...meh. I can see nothing special about it in the slightest. Still, you're probably right about 90210, but I'll give it a try just incase.

Just curious, what don't you like about OTH?

For me it combines a lot of things. I love Basketball, Teen Stories and Music. OTH is probably the most musically driven show on TV. Not just for the music featured in it but some of the best storylines have been directly about music.

I just find it so bland, like I've seen it all before. The only thing that makes it worthy to watch for me, is..erm "Brooke" is it? (I could be totally wrong with her name there). She actually seems to be interesting. The rest of the characters bore me, if I'm honest. I'm all for the teen problems stuff, but they just seem depressed 24/7.

The last thing I watched was when that guy shot someone in the school. That wasn't bad...but it just didn't really hold my attention like someone like the O.C used to be able to do, or Gossip Girl does now.

If you tell me it's gotten dramatically better since then, then I'll give it another try.

To be Honest, season 1 was probably the best, though 3 was pretty awesome too. The one with the shooting must rank as one of my favourite TV episodes ever. It handled a potentially tricky subject (school shootings) really well. Of course since season 5 when the show jumped forward 4 years, it's quite different to what it was. You're right about Brooke though, she's a bit fiesty that one.

After mulling over what show to get, i actually went with Dexter as you lot seem to praise it so much. First episode wasn't bad, i'm not sure why you say its as great as you do though. I'm hoping it will develop into more than just "that guy is bad, i need to prove it then kill him". I'm sure it does though.

How I Met Your Mother - Benefits

Thank god it's back on. Gives me something to watch/do on a tuesday morning. Anyway, it was an alright episode. Loved how there was a ship out behind Maclarens filled with TVs just readily placed for Barney to smash them all. And then when they had finished, he went and bought his own. Genius. Apart from that, it was ok. The Ted/Robin/Barney love triangle may finally be solved and Barney may well go for Robin now if he just admits he likes her. Was brilliant when you thought he was talking to a shrink about his feelings but turned out to be sitting in Lily's kindergarten class smoking and talking to them.

Death Note: Episode 2, 3 and 4

Brilliant, I'm seriously hooked to this show now. I love it. I'd advise anyone who likes anime or manga to watch this. Simply brilliant

And as much as you love it your signature is about twice the maximum height and your signatures and avatar combined is about 6 times the maximum file size limit. Please change :)

Moving on.

How I Met Your Mother - Benefits

I can't believe how self centrered Ted was in this episode. Yes it was played up for comic effect but he should have seen something was wrong with Barney before.

Although I love the way they associated reality tv stars with shit ;)

Saturday Night Live with Neil Patrick Harris

Not bad. Certainly zone-out-to-able. Some of the nuances went over my head as it relied a lot upon contemporary popular cultural knowledge. I did find some bits amusing though, and gotta love NPH :D

Oh and apparently Keenan Thompson (a la Keenan and Kel) is still alive and working on SNL. Who knew...

Gossip Girl - Gone With The Will

Never really liked Rufus and Lily. They're adults. They should know better really.

Glad they're taking a break from Blair and Chuck for a bit. I do like them together but in this episode Blair and Serena recieved massive blows and they were alone. Their frie(nemies)ndship is at the core of the series really.

Gossip Girl - Gone With The Will

The new guy that's stolen chucks place is annoying me. But then again, I suppose he is meant to. I'm loving the dan and serena being "related" storyline, though I'm still a tad confused if I'm honest.

Also, it's nice to see Eric FINALLY getting some screen time.

Stargate Atlantis

A decent end for the series, but it really could have done with some more episodes to finish the unfinished plots.

The Wraith are still terrorising the Pegasus Galaxy. It's one of the main plots of the show.

The TV film may sort it out, but it'd be hard to do so with Atlantis stuck on Earth. Speaking of which...I'm curious as to what they'll do with it now that they are on Earth and far away from any threats related to the show.

Damages : series 1

Series about a young woman who goes to work for a top law firm and gets heavilly involved in a high profile case which puts her and those around here in danger, lots of twists along the way and it keeps showing you snippets of how it 'ends' and then going a few months back, then with each episode it's weeks, days hours... and even though you 'know' how it ends you want to keep watching to see how it went from being rather subdued at the start to the warped end.

I can't really explain it much more without ruining stuff and it's just one of those series that you'll only appreciate once you start to watch it, but once you've seen the first episode you'll want to watch it to the end, theres a second series coming out soon too which I now can't wait for.

Nip/Tuck 5.16 - Gene Shelly

I know its kinda the point but watching Christian go through chemo is really unsettling.

And only in Nip/Tuck would someone be able to say to their son: "Mommy has slept with your daddy, his two daddys and a load of other men...but they were mostly porn stars so it doesn't really count."

Line of the episode though: "Liz. Why do you rub your vagina with people of the same sex?"

Still waiting for Katee Sackhoff to show up though. Hmm, its a shame all channels dont do promos like these;

Cause im bored and looking at promos on youtube. Apparently this half season they have; Bradley Cooper, Portia deRossi, Katee Sackhoff, Jennifer Coolidge, Morgan Fairchild and Sharron Glass :D

It most certainly does.

Episode 2 was decent again, but i just cant see where they're going with this. It was too similar to the first episode for me. Bad people, find out for sure, kill them, all the while tracking down this refrigerated-truck serial killer. That's the interesting part, but i get the feeling its going to be like X-files with this on-going mystery developing very slowly around these other kills and stuff.

I still have faith because i like the way its filmed, especially the voice over. Its like an insight into his mind, but still, it has to improve in the next few episodes if i'm to continue watching.

Stick out the season (only 12 episodes afterall). It twists around episode 6 or 7, plus Dexter grows as a nonperson.

Friends

I've been watching it each Night on E4 recently and I'm now addicted to it again I had not watched it for ages. What always amazes me is how many phrases from the show I actually use. I'm easily influenced....

I think this and The Simpsons are my most watched TV Shows ever. I could just keep on watching eternally! :)

Hannah Montana Season 2

Wow. So much better than Season 1 (except maybe the Moose bit!) It is fun and when I want to relax I will stick this on as it makes me laugh and I love Miley.

Bring on Season 3 (and the Movie :p) which thus far looks even better!

How I Met Your Mother - Benfits

Great episode! I love emotional Barney.

ER: Season 15, Episode 2

Dijointed and not overly tense, but an interesting introduction to the new interns, one of whom is Maggie Grace, IIRC. Lovely woman.

Bioterrorism and shit. Also, the new chief looks genuinely interesting as a character.

Brothers & Sisters Season 3, Episode 2

I love this show so much! Very well acted one this time, focusing on Kitty, and a few touching moments.

The Wire Series 1, episode 1.

I think I love. Too early to tell, but yeah, I think I do. More to follow. I was too sleepy to carry on last night.

Haven't seen ep 2, but I was a blubbering mess in the first one.

Smallvile - Legion

Getting rid of Rosenbald was one of the best things this show has done. It's almost as if it's an entirely different show, I see no reason why it can't go on for seasons to come. This was an awesome episode, and it's only mid-season. Smallville has always been able to crank up the awesomeness as seasons progress. So, i'm looking forward to seeing what's next.
