flameboy Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Well i can understand the reasoning behind that, extra incentive to upgrade. I guess so but at 20p a pop that represents an impulse buy on mass....free money for sod all...
Cookyman Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 unlike Dead Nation which I found to be an unexceptional shooter with nothing else to its name. Your wrong on so many levels!
dwarf Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 http://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/02/02/making-crash-bandicoot-part-1/ Biiiig blog (6 parts, linked to on the pages) about the creation of the original Crash Bandicoot, written by the original founders of Naughty Dog. It talks about the competition of Mario, design hardships, and generally awesome trivia in Crash's development cycle. A cracking read.

flameboy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Looks fun! Think i shall be purchasing that!! Why just buy Maxplosion on iphone for 59p its exactly the same at a fraction of the cost
LegoMan1031 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Why just buy Maxplosion on iphone for 59p its exactly the same at a fraction of the cost Coz i'm not a iphone/ipod gaming addict such as urself!
Daft Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) Stacking is free if you're a Plus subscriber. Uuurm, fuck yes. Plus rocks. Why just buy Maxplosion on iphone for 59p its exactly the same at a fraction of the cost Because I'm never wrong. This is a lie but shhhhh! I think my brother is sending me a free download code. Although I might just cave and cough up. I'm so proud. Edited February 9, 2011 by Daft
The Lillster Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Which one was the rip-off version, Maxplosion or Explodemon?
Daft Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Maxplosion. Explodemon was developed at the same time as 'Splosion man but fell behind due to the usual indie dev troubles. This is an awesome read about what indie devs have to deal with. Check it out. The Explodemon Saga

The Explodemon Saga yeah what daft said. Explodeman and 'Splosion man were announced within days of each other so its just one of those coincidences. Good article over on the ps blog there daft
Magnus Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I never bothered checking out 'Splosion Man because The Maw wasn't very good, but Explodemon looks pretty good. I certainly prefer the look of the game over 'Splosion Man, anyway. Why just buy Maxplosion on iphone for 59p its exactly the same at a fraction of the cost Why buy the real Mona Lisa when you can get a forgery at a fraction of the cost?

flameboy Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 My PS3 fans have started kicking out a right sound...should be worried? or is it just cos its hot in here?
Cookyman Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 It's hot, fans will kick in - don't worry!
Happenstance Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I give my vents a hoover when that happens as well to clear out as much dust as I can, tends to help.
Cube Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I'll be adding a load of you when my PS3 arrives tomorrow.
Cube Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 What're you getting it with? I splashed my Play.com funds (that I got from my free copy of BSG) on Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, MGS4 and Heavy Rain. Although I'm not confident that any will actually arrive tomorrow.

Caris Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) I'll be adding a load of you when my PS3 arrives tomorrow. I thought you couldn't use the controller as it hurt your hands? Edited February 14, 2011 by Caris
Cube Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I thought you couldn't use the controller as it hurt your hands? That was the PS2 one, hopefully the PS3 one is slightly different (the PS1 was great to hold). Plus I've grown since then (both in that I have bigger hands and am more mature). The only PS3 controller I've touched is Move. I can always get that controller adaptor to use my 360 wired controller if I have problems. I have a few questions about PlayStation Plus. How many games are currently free to play? Can you only play games for the month they're on the service? Are these games retroactive (i.e. can I play games which were made free a year ago)? I understand that I won't be able to play any after I stop paying for the service, but I've discovered that I don't tend to play XBLA much after completing them.
Daft Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) You get one PSN game and two minis a month (at least, sometimes there are more - like this month Stacking was free). Sometimes there's DLC, too (Like when they gave away all of Fallout 3's DLC). You only get games for months you are subscribed for, so the long you are subscribed the more games you have access to. So no, you can't play games that were free a year ago. You are allowed to play these games as long as you have an active subscription. If you let your subscription laps you can get access to everything by renewing your membership at any time. Edited February 14, 2011 by Daft Typos
Aimless Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I have a few questions about PlayStation Plus. How many games are currently free to play? Quite a lot at the moment due to various circumstances. This month there's Shatter, Stacking, Lead & Gold, the NeoGeo game Magician Lord plus three Minis. There's also discounts and some other bits, all of which you can keep abreast of over at the Playtation.Blog. Can you only play games for the month they're on the service? You can play inclusive content as long as you're a Plus subscriber. Naturally anything that's discounted — as opposed to free — you keep forever once paid for, regardless of Plus status. Are these games retroactive (i.e. can I play games which were made free a year ago)? No, although if you downloaded some content a year ago, your subscription lapsed and then you resubscribed that content could be played once more; I'm not entirely sure if you'd be able to actually redownload it, but if it's still on your system it'll work.

This isn't strictly true...mine lapsed in december and there is a ton of content I can still play. Granted some of locked out but I would say 90% isn't.
