Sheikah Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 The ridiculous pricing on the store for main PS3 titles makes me hope they don't start introducing serial codes or digital only consoles in the near future. I'd hate price to always be dictated by anything other than demand.

I'd hate price to always be dictated by anything other than demand. I don't think this would be as much of a problem if they went digital only. Look at onlive. Their games are comparatively priced and get good reductions later down the line. I think once the likes of sony and microsoft do go more digital and no longer rely on retail for game sales this kind of dumb pricing won't exist anymore with any luck.
Sheikah Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Are the prices as good as say Amazon Marketplace prices? It would be nice if because every single sale went back to the actual game makers/distributors (under digital only) that they discounted even further, but I don't think they would.

I'd hate price to always be dictated by anything other than demand. That would be ridiculous and just wouldn't happen. Those PSN prices only serve to supplement revenue from disc sales. If games were PSN only, prices would undoubtedly be subject to demand, especially seeing as there are multiple systems knocking about. Boob.

What I meant was that if a game developer introduces serial codes effectively it wouldn't matter how many consoles their game was on. They could keep the price of the game high, or at least higher than second hand trade ins.
dwarf Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Dwarf, BF3. Where are you? We should setup a clan. As much as I'm elated to hear that and as much as I'd love to revive our online kinship, I can't be bothered/am slightly unable to establish a connection for ma Playbox 3000 at Uni. And I have zero money for new games. Of course I would rinse you all at Uncharted 3 and BF given the opportunity. Absolutely rinse. Since moving to Manch in mid-September I've made a rather grandiose contribution of 8 replies to this forum, and one of those was just to congratulate Daft for evading Death for a successive 365 day period. I guess it's because I've had jack shit to talk about considering the lack of playtime on anything. It's quite sad really, not sad in the sense that I haven't been gaming much or haven't had game-related troll material to smear you all with, but sad because I bothered to acknowledge the Birthday of the biggest cunt in this joint. I am jealous of y'all though, been some pretty sik games this half of the year. Going by trailers :'(
Sheikah Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Are you at the main uni in Manchester? If so, good choice.
dwarf Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yeah ze main Uni. And yes Rez. But we are still brothers. No matter how highly these new kids on the block like to rate themselves, you know that I am yours, and that you are mine .
Sheikah Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Cool. Back in Sep 2005, I was in your boots. What are you studying? I did Cell Biology.
dwarf Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm doing economics & sociology, might mix it up with some politics and some other shit though in the second year. Degree is flexible nd all. Motivation has been severely lacking since nightlife is awesome and surviving is a harship in itself. You ever go to 5th Av nightclub? Probably the best club I've ever been to. P.S. I own a Playstation 3.
Sheikah Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yeah I did, it's ace. Manchester is a really good uni, great academic/social balance there.

Pretty good update. I'm happy with this Hydrophobia: Prophecy for free even though it's not that great as well as the whole PS1 Crash Bandicoot back catalogue.
Cube Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I got Hydrophobia: Pure (after the fixed lots of stuff with the game) and it was pretty decent. This version is supposedly rebuilt and better. Perhaps now they'll set work on Episode 2. And I've never properly played the Crash games.
Daft Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Crash Bandicoot free? Dwarf is going to have a boner-thon.
dwarf Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 No online access doeee. Boner killer. I think my PS+ subscription expired anyhow.
flameboy Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Today has been a freaking awesome day for games.... Uncharted 3 DC Universe Payday: The Heist Playstation Plus goodies are awesome! and F1 2011 turned up in the mail today (only £18.85 on shop to) Plus picked up Lego Indiana Jones to play with my girlfriend over xmas and that arrived.
flameboy Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 WHAT. When is Crash out on PS+??? Already out came out with last weeks update!
Tales Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 To my surprise I found Carnivores and the sequal on PSN. Played the demo on PC many years ago and thought I would never find this gem again. Still as fun as back then, although the pop ups annoys me a bit. For so much fun dino killing it was pretty cheap. Highly recommended.
david.dakota Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Can someone recommend a short 6-10 hour action/adventure game for me?
ReZourceman Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Can someone recommend a short 6-10 hour action/adventure game for me? There is only one franchise choice.
Retro_Link Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I always presummed Infamous 2 was closer to a 15-20hr game than 6-10?
flameboy Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I always presummed Infamous 2 was closer to a 15-20hr game than 6-10? Yeah I'd say took me around 15 hour mark bet could be done quicker if you miss side missions
