If you mentioned in your own post that you were in a shit mood then you must have known that what you'd said was a bit arsey. Not everyone thinks the same as you on limited edition stuff, some like to collect it.
dwarf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I just go about my business as if I am always right, because I always am. You have more money than sense if you buy that turd collection, or just don't appreciate how little it has been made for.
Happenstance Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 If you add it all up its not even a bad price. Roughly £40 per game, art books are at least over a tenner which is £90 or over, then the extra £20 can easily go on all the rest of the stuff you get with it.

I'm still reeling from being stung with the Batman AA Collectors Edition don't think I will even buy one again that is above RRP of the standard edition.

God of War Collection is, £30. You'll be able to buy GoWIII for £35. That means £55 for the extra stuff which is just stupid. Most of that is because of the 'Pandora's Box' - Heavy Rain offers art books and soundtrack and DLC all for £40. Why should this be any different?
Happenstance Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Im just talking about how for what you get, it mostly adds up. I think as well you cant really compare the prices to the probably lowest ones depending on websites trying to get sales. It could even be compared to RRPs.
dwarf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I think every game I've ever bought has been available for £35 or less on release day. Plus God of War Collection at £40 would be a ridiculous price even if the games themselves are remarkable - they're PS2 titles and so I think paying over £100 to experience a lot of God of War, especially if you've played some of them before, is a bit farfetched.
Happenstance Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Once again, im not talking about if its worthwhile as a whole, just money wise for what is actually included. Plus just as you say, games are cheaper depending on where you look so its possible this limited edition will be as well.
dwarf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 If anything limited editions will go up in price, people won't buy them for a price like that and sell them used for less. They'll store it for a few months and reap the benefits. You going to buy it?
Happenstance Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I doubt it, I dont buy limited editions unless they are the same price or include something that im interested in.
Jon Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I just go about my business as if I am always right, because I always am. You have more money than sense if you buy that turd collection, or just don't appreciate how little it has been made for. Don't speak bollocks. It is overpriced in my view for what are essentially PS2 games but I can see the appeal in it. Collective Swag is always cool.
dwarf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I am in hyperbole mode, obviously my opinion isn't final, I'm just putting across in a way that doesn't go down well because that's just how I'm feeling right now. From a non-gamer onlooker's perspective, £110 is a tier above extortionate for that hunk of junk.

dwarf Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) I'm winning a Saint's Row 2 bid with just over an hour left on the ticker. £9.50. C'mon! Need some simpleton gaming entertainment in my life right now. Edit: Managed to bag it for £9.50 - that's about as cheap as any auctions I've seen for it on eBay. Also, The Pitt add-on should've just been called 'Shit'. If I paid the DLC price for it I'd have asked for a refund, it's bloody disgraceful. Isn't even that good anyway. Owen Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Like the fact my post was totally ignored about the price.
darksnowman Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I did a search and couldn't find a thread for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep so I'll plonk this news in here. Cubed3 have posted up the Japanese sales and BBS has skipped to the number one spot, overtaking NSMB Wii (which is apparently in short supply in Japan right now). It won't be an "evergreen" seller like the Nintendo titles, but its still relieving, imo, to see a good old RPG romp can top the charts, in times when it seems the genre is in decline. MATtheHAT Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Finished God of War 1 and 2 now, and just got the Platinum for the first one. Very impressed by the series so far, especially GoW2. I even read up on the story of Chains of Olympus and a mobile phone game that takes place chronologically between 1 and 2. Just got to get the Trophies for 2 now then I'm all set for GoW3 - which has now become my most eagerly awaited game of 2010. Oh, and level 14 ftw.
Strange Cookie Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 God of War Collection arrived yesterday (My first import. Treasure the moment.) after barely 3 days of waiting. I've completed GoW I on PS2, but never got round to finishing GoW II. Now's my chance! I'm reminded of how great these games actually are up to this day, and how weak the imitations really are. It's a great package, and a testament that great gameplay is timeless. Well, atleast not after a period of 5 years. But what strikes me the most is just how much a simple upgrade to HD can do. Makes me think again it's a shame Wi wasn't HD to begin with. Anyways, I still find it odd that this isn't released as a standalone game in Europe (well, at the time of writing it announed anyway)). I see little point in only releasing Collection in an rather large and expensive Collector's Edition of GoW III. The beatuy of Collection is that it's rekindles the hype for part III. Released alongside III, it's more of a... nice destraction. Let's face it: when you get Collection and III at the same time, which are you most likely to play most? A missed opportunity IMO, but thank Sony for region-free consoles!
drahkon Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Easy Platinums? Yeah. At least without the Challenge Of The Gods and Challenge Of The Titants trophies. They can be quite a pain. I didn't have trouble with them because I already did them a lot with the PS2 versions. It's a shame there aren't trophies for beating the game on God Mode, Titan Mode respectively.

I didn't have trouble with them because I already did them a lot with the PS2 versions. It's a shame there aren't trophies for beating the game on God Mode, Titan Mode respectively. Most are story related, and as dr4hkon said, there is only one trophy for completing the game on any difficulty. Challenge of the Gods is a bit tricky, which is basically a series of rooms where specific tasks are set, like kill all enemies without being hit etc.. Also, there is a glitched trophy in GoW2, which basically means I have to defeat certain bosses again. Possibly with a new save file. But generally a couple of easy Platinums.

I've read that the "Boss Batch 3" (I think it was 3) trophy is glitched, but I didn't notice because I defeated those bosses in one session I've ordererd Darksiders. Hope it arrives on Monday so I have something to play until Mass Effect 2 destroys my social life.

I saved between the boss fights, which is apparently what causes the trophy to glitch. I'm not too bothered, it was a pleasure to play through the first time so I don't mind doing it again.
