chairdriver Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 So, considering the first and second games were such a success, I'm going to run a third. Who wants to play? Reminder: Once you sign-up, you have made a commitment. You have to be a frequent poster on this site, as you'll have to check on here to post on the thread and PM me every day. Do not sign up if you aren't going to play with commitment, cos you will ruin the game for everyone (especially if you have a pivotal role). Also, this game I was thinking of having a theme (for example Star Wars, or Comic Book Superheroes, or Harry Potter or something like that) In this game, everyone will play a character from the theme, with character-specific powers, instead of just being a person from a town. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a theme that would be enjoyable to play? If you could give a few suggestions when you sign-up, that would be great. Of course, we can always do a "vanilla" game again (what the previous 2 were, where everyone is a townsperson) if people want that. Rules can be found here EDIT: The theme has been confirmed as Video Games mafia. Everyone will play as people from popular video games, their powers reflecting what the character does in their respective game. / nando / AshMat Brian Mcoy Coolness Bears Cube darksnowman DomJcg Dyson Eenuh Ellmeister Gaggle64 Gizmo Haggis Jayseven Jonnas Maase LazyBoy martinist McMad MoogleViper mr-paul mundi My Buttons are magic! Slaggis Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Count me in. A Harry Potter theme one would be awesome!
Dyson Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I'm definately in again. I don't mind the theme.
AshMat Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I'm up for this again! Brilliant game. loTR? Looaaddss of characters to choose.
Dyson Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I dunno how you could possibly work it out, but a Smash Bros one could be fun.
Mr-Paul Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I'm definitely in! Don't mind what theme is used, anything will be fun!
Jonnas Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Sign me up! Maybe a Heroes theme. (Although Claire would be nearly immortal. Maybe she could be the new jester? ) Or maybe a "Lost" theme? Whatever. I liked the "vanilla" theme, though.
Coolness Bears Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I'm up for this! I've missed it the first 2 times. Does that matter?
Dyson Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 How about 24? - Time limit for Day and Night phases? - CTU, Terrorists and Others? - Insiders, Moles etc That could work awesomely with a bit of expansion.
AshMat Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Nah coolness, you'll pick it up. I like the idea of just going vanilla again.
Slaggis Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Nah coolness, you'll pick it up. I like the idea of just going vanilla again. We should have a theme, it might shake things up a bit, make it even more fun. A LOTR one like you said could be pretty good, though someone mentioned a heroes one too, which would be awesome!
Coolness Bears Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Nah coolness, you'll pick it up. I like the idea of just going vanilla again. Great! I'm up for any theme!
chairdriver Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 How about 24? - Time limit for Day and Night phases? - CTU, Terrorists and Others? - Insiders, Moles etc That could work awesomely with a bit of expansion. 2 problems: 1) time limits are hard to impliment over the internet. I do have a social life aswell 2) I've not watch enough 24 to make it accurate enough.
Dyson Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Shame. The CTU v Terrorists thing would have worked well :P
Strider Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Me please... I like the sound of a LOTR one though Lots of goodies and baddies.
Dyson Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Don't like the idea of a LOTR ones personally. Bet Mcoy would though. (lol inside joke)
chairdriver Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Themed games are often much less ambiguious. For example, if you find out someone is a Ringwraith, you know if they are evil. However, if you find out someone is a prostitute, you don't really know if they are good or evil. (as was seen in game #2)
Sprout Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I dunno how you could possibly work it out, but a Smash Bros one could be fun. I like the idea of a Smash Bros. one. You are Pichu. You will commit suicide on Night 1 as you are such a useless character, and even you doubt that you will make it into Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I'll go ahead and join once more.
McMad Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Count McMad in for this one. lulz 'Count McMad' *thinks it's time to change his screename*
Jonnas Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I like the idea of a Smash Bros. one. You are Pichu. You will commit suicide on Night 1 as you are such a useless character, and even you doubt that you will make it into Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I'll go ahead and join once more. We could save the Smash Bros. one to when Brawl came out. More variety to choose from. Either that, or play with speculated characters. More unexpected roles. And Pichu would totally be a variation of the Fat Bastard.
Cube Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 LotR sounds ace. Smash Bros also sounds cool (this is a Nintendo forum, afterall). Or you could tone it down a bit and just have something like Zelda OoT/MM would probably be the best: The Hyllian (Link, Zelda, Sages) Ganon's Army (Ganondorf, OoT Bosses) Majora's Army (Majora's Mask, MM Bosses) I'd like to play once more.
Mundi Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Or maybe just a plain and simple Medieval theme?
