Slaggis
Fun!! Watched the good bit of homea alone in sociology, did random christmas jokes in ict and then the rest of the day was spent in the common room with my threee frees. I was getting really peeved with everyone whilst sitting down. I don't mind the odd insult for a joke, I mean, you can't laugh at someone else if you can't laugh at yourself right? Well, everyone does it now, and it's been ever so slowly getting to me. It got to the point where everyone in the group was pissing me off for fun. I just cracked, went off on one, and when one of them didn't stop, I smacked him. I know I shouldn't have done, but the guy (the guy I used to be mates with and then suddenly got told he hated me) wouldn't stop and it was about time I stood up for myself. Also, the walk home was great, some random drunk guy was following me and some mates, was pretty funny.
Tellyn
I finished school at 12.15 today after two hours of Coach Carter and two underwhelming renditions of classic Christmas songs from the school faculty. I then took up babysitting duty for my 7 month old niece, who likes the song Jingle Bells. I went out for a bit in a smallish shopping centre and got frozen on the way there, had a look in Gamestation, walked back, read NGamer, and now I find myself here. Hello. Ashley
Rubbish. 11 hour shift. 1 hour lunch. Useless staff. Better luck tomorrow...? Doubt it. Its going to be a rubbish weekend. And Monday I am running the shop because of the stupid regional manager. He had a right hissy fit when I ran a Friday a month ago but Xmas eve is fine. Its not busy at all. Sounds like the GAME in Aylesbury. 4 staff behind till. 1 competent staff member. 3 fucktards. Queue of approx 10-15 customers. Again, the same kind of ratio - 8 fucktards, 2 competent people. Thankfully myself (competent customer) was paired with competent staff member = super quick. "Can I help" briskly walked towards him - he sees what Ive got in my hands (LSWOT DS) and before I get to the till hes grabbed a sealed copy and its in a bag, reward card goes over immediately, bish in goes the debit card, £2.50 on reward card. Keep it on. Pin. Receipt. Bagged and product in hand, 20 seconds. Like a well oiled machine. His next customer - "Can I get Halo 3 on PS2" I shuddered for him as I left. Anyway, I just had my first "Scrape the car" experience. I was like...WTF is this shit. Needed to scrape fudging windscreen, windows, mirror. Thank sweet baby jesus for the Nectar card eh. See thats what im like, a smooth well oiled almost synchoronised dance like cashier. Except im serving everyone at once. Honestly its like im dealing with my own customer, sorting out whatever minor issue a temp has at the till next to me, finding games temps cant find, bagging, sealing games, and dolling out other jobs ("answer the phone", "get that game" etc). That place is going to shit when I leave. I have figured the only way Monday is going to happen is if I plan it to a t. Who is where, who is substituting and when, when people are on lunches etc. Thankfully only open 10-3ish. Depends when I have enough. Day should get a bit better. Friend is coming round to swap xmas presents and drink wine. Cleaned the kitchen up and packed most of my stuff for tomorrow (going back to parents for a week). Just gonna wrap my mom's present. Mr-Paul
I haven't written in here for like a week, so won't bother summing up every day, there'd be way to much to write. Basically, my life is amazing at the moment. I love it. Every day has been great. AND IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS

And not by the company. Work wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Even though I was knackered and feeling sick but I got (or at least put on) a festive mood and was upbeat. And then afterwards we went to the pub. Had 3 G&Ts and Plaice and chips and didn't pay for anything.
Dyson
My day has been fine I had work at 8am in the morning until 5pm, but you know what? I really enjoyed it! The checkout isn't a bad job at the moment as people seem to be in good spirits (and buying a lot of those, too). I don't think I posted it here, but I got a job at Tesco on Tuesday! I am a simple checkout worker and I enjoy it so far. Yay! No work for a week
Calza
How much do you get paid an hour Dyson? And if you know does everybody your age get the wage no matter what they do in Tesco's? The Tesco where I live pay above the minimum wage so thats why I'm asking.

The Tesco where I live pay above the minimum wage so thats why I'm asking. I'm 17 and get £5 an hour, when I hit 18 it goes up to £6.50. Everyone starts at £5 and it goes up when you hit 18 and over time too, like a loyalty pay rise thing.
Calza
I'm 16 though, I've been thinking about working for Tesco's. They are pretty much the only place I could work. There is one quite close to me but that is rumoured to be closing down (even though it only just opened) and there is one a bit further away but there is people (girls) at my school who work there. Ashley
Thats illegal, she can't prevent you from taking the breaks you are owed. If she tries it again just state its illegal and if she tries to prevent you you will contact your head office/union (if you have a union)

If she tries it again just state its illegal and if she tries to prevent you you will contact your head office/union (if you have a union) ive a 4 hour contract - i have no union tho i did work like 40 hours this week - and working a total of 8 days in a row actually shes a really nice manager and i feel quite lucky to have such a nice manager but when its christmas time in barratts the breaks get stingy (except for the manager and supervisor) im seriously thinking of getting a new job somewhere that pays above 4.60 an hour *sigh* definately not game tho, you have put me off it completly
ReZourceman
ive a 4 hour contract - i have no union You'd better clarify this with Ashley, but Im pretty sure its illegal no matter what. (Its some kind of thing like for every four hours you get ten minutes...But I guess for the whole day it changes things) Anyway...Guize....do I have something wrong with me in that I just dont particularly enjoy going out. To like Yates/Crappy clubs etc. SRSLY its just boring...you cant hear people talk, and just the point of drinking is just fairly pathetic. We always end up leaving early. Slaggis
I got thrown out of the HSBC in Meadowhall. God, banks fuck me off. My card kept being rejected because they said I was using it wierdly, i.e I spent a few more pounds than usual. 3 phone calls, each time I was told I was now ok to use the card, each time it got rejected. The man in HSBC was so rude, I just told him to "go get another fucking job". Anyway, I bought loads of stuff, and saw St.Trinians, which I thought was pretty funny. All in all, other than the crappy bank, I had an awesome day. My train was late so I only just got back in.
