Fancy watching some Dave?

On the back of Nintendo's crazy Wii name, UKTV G2 currently shown on cable and Sky will be renamed "Dave" when relaunched in October and become avaliable on Freeview (to replace the shitty UK Bright Ideas...).

Anyone wanna watch Dave? Anyone?

TV: "Coming up next on Dave."

Jordan: "ew..."

Awesome, that's nearly as good as calling a dog Dave.

EDIT: Just read the article:

[The show is based around the idea that] everyone knows a bloke called Dave.

I find this hilarious, but I'm not entirely sure why...

Don't really see a problem, shows are being called after people all the time. Joey, Frasier... Albeit they have some form of relevance.

Maybe people will think it's a new sitcom/spin-off thereof.

... yeah but this is a whole channel...

Well I guess it's a silly name, but it sounds like it'll have a decent bunch of shows - and on freeview too! Woo! Just need a freeview box now...

Its just UKTV G2 basically.

Ie: Old comedy quiz shows, top gear, movies occassionally.

Gotta be better than Bright Ideas though ... so overall Freeview improves!

Bright Ideas isn't the channel on freeview (like channel 19 or there abouts) that shows all the cooking programmes is it?

If it is, WW3 will take place in my house when the channel is gone. :S

It doesn't show enough cooking programs, and the ones it does show are rubbish. I wish UKTV food was on freeview.
