Dante Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 But is it toned down with less functionality with just the wiimote? Or do you need the classic controller for better gameplay? No functionality at all, you hold the controller as the NES pad. New scans:
Hero-of-Time Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Looks like we will have a LOOOOOOOOOONG wait for this beauty. Also, Rising Star Games has updated with an official info page for Muramasa: The Demon Blade, which dates the title for Spring 2010 in Europe. Click here to check it out. Source: GoNintendo
ShadowV7 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Next year o_O That's some epic ball busting.
Ganepark32 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 But this was supposed to be one of the 2009 titles for the Wii. But then there wasn't an NoE conference so I guess that only applied to America and Asia.
ShadowV7 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I was hoping for a Q4 release for Europe. If XSEED bring it out in the US this year or if there'a big enough gap to warrant an import, then that's what i'll be doing I think. Although I like Rising Star for what they're doing, i'm impatient waiting ages for a game that's out everywhere else. Just need to see when it'll get a US release to see what i'll be doing.
nekunando Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I would have loved this game at Halloween or Christmas.. but with a back catalogue the size of mine it is maybe as well to have it next year when hopefully I will have put a few games to the sword in 2009.. It's looks amazing though.. I just hope it doesn't disappoint!

Ganepark32 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Yeh I thought so as well. Seems like the Rising Star Games thing to do though by delaying it a couple of months after it's released everywhere else. I really do think they need to sort out the whole region lock thing. I don't mean take it away, although that would be brilliant, but with NTSC in both the American and Japanese variants it's as simple as copying the game over to that region lock whereas with PAL you have to translate everything. Perhaps it's be best for things like games if we adopted NTSC region encoding.
Shino Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Yeah, if the americans get this months earlier than us, I'd like to know the reason for it (translation is a bullshit reason, every bilingual person can tell that).
Choze Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Day 1 for Europe. Wouldnt mind importing. Capcom should have used real artists for SSF2THD and should checked the dictionary for the word 'animation'.
killer kirby Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Yeah, if the americans get this months earlier than us, I'd like to know the reason for it (translation is a bullshit reason, every bilingual person can tell that). It seems like Xseed and Rising Star Games are close so I don't think there is much of a wait, I mean I think little king story is coming out to europe first before the US get it (Since I think the latest is that the UK have got a release date yet the US don't) So I am fine with the wait.
pedrocasilva Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Is this out in USA in 2009?announced date for US is still a vague summer 2008.

Too bad though Don't act so surprised, my warning on the previous page was not only ignored but shot down by yourself, GP. Rising Star haven't suddenly sprung this out of nowhere, their original estimates were indeed late 2009/early 2010.
Coolness Bears Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm not that suprised. 2010 is good news for me. Why you ask? I have too many games to get right now and no money to do so! If it came out this year it would be another missed Wii game to get! This looks so awesome I will have to get it day one so hopefully in 2010 I will have enough money to do so!

Actually i'm fairly sure it was penned down for a November '09 release, but has been pushed back a few months.
Tellyn Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Actually i'm fairly sure it was penned down for a November '09 release, but has been pushed back a few months. It was never penned down at all, I watched a video interview where a Rising Star representative clearly stated that it was either going to be late 2009/early 2010.
ShadowV7 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Rising Star Games, Marvelous’ European arm, is more specific pinning Muramasa: The Demon Blade with a November 2009 release. From where I read about a November release. Siliconera.
Shino Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 From where I read about a November release. Siliconera. FUUUUU! Hope they're right!
Tellyn Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 From where I read about a November release. Siliconera. My source is Playr, I believe the episode was shown last month or earlier this month.
Dante Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 New information: - You can use two types of katana : the regular, long sword, and the bigger sword. The regular swords excel in 1-on-1 and aerial battles, while the bigger, more powerful swords are better suited to take care of multiple enemies. The proper use of weapons depending on the situation is a key element of the battles. It's said that the battles are not just about blowing off enemies, as there are many strategic elements to them. - You can perform defensive, as well as evasive moves, at the cost of a depleting soul gauge. When the gauge reachs zero, your weapon breaks, considerably reducing your attack power (you'll then have to switch your sword). - You can equip up to 3 katanas. After a certain time has elapsed, you're able to use one of your weapon's special power. To do that, just switch to it, and it will be unleashed automatically. Switching your weapons strategically is actually a key element. - As you collect more and more katanas, you'll find out that each of them has a different secret skill concealed within it. new screenshots
