Activision confirms new James Bond game in the works

A snippet from Activision’s press release…

Activision also confirmed that the company’s newest blockbuster franchise, James Bond, featuring the world-renowned top secret agent 007 is in development by powerhouse studios Treyarch, Beenox and Vicarious Visions for next-generation consoles, Windows PC and hand-held platforms.

Well I waited ages for this. Ea Milked the shit out of james bond games(*cough 007 racing cough*)

But this is in devolpment from 2 studios and 2 good ones at that.

Only problem is will it come out on wii. I think going by Activisions trach record it will come on wii and ds. Be foolish since the gamecube got every single bond game(and that includes the really bad one.... you know the one)

What do you expect from this? Will anything ever beat goldeneye?

Ye we'll get it I'm sure.

I dunno if I would prefer a FPS or a 3rd person action adventure game tho. I rated Nightfire and Everything or Nothing, highly on the Cube. Elements of both could work I suppose, or the Resi 4 behind the shoulder view :)

I just hope they don't focus on gadgets too much, and I want online multiplayer, as I am a huge Bond fan!

I really like the third person one EA did, I though that was pretty damn good.

If it comes too the Wii (which it will) I hope it's 3rd person again, though somehow I think it won't be.

Thanks for the info mcj

I agree Everything or nothing was easily Ea's best effort But from russia with love proved they needed to lose the license.

oh and you're welcome:)

TWINE was an ace bond game - i still play it occasionally

But I think Activision need to refresh the genre a bit. Bond games are notoriously difficult to get right - they will sell well so it's easy to just ship them out the door no matter what the state of them - but with a new James Bond on screen, I think the time is perfect for Activision to refresh the videogame as much as Daniel Craig did the film.

the best james bond game ever was Goldeneye for n64 cant wait till it gets on VC

Theres a big if there. Although it has been rumoured in all likelyness goldeneye is one game that will probably never be available on VC. Glad ive stil got my 64 hooked up :)

If it does, It'll likely be 1500 to 2000 (perhaps more) points to cover up the many licensing issues.

I don't think they ever really grabbed the spionage feel of GoldenEye. I mean, that was one game where I was literally sitting at the edge of my seat, bathed in sweat, as I was fighting for my life inside the recently infiltrated enemy base. For me, they haven't been able to recreate that feeling. They got close in TWINE with the Nightwatch level, but that was as close as they got. I haven't tried some of the other games, though, so I might be wrong, but I really doubt any of them beat GoldenEye. There's potential with this new game, but like danny, I won't hold my breath just yet.

If Treyarch are making it it could be pretty good. Don't they do the CoD series?

2 and 3. They also made Spider-Man 2 and (shudder) 3. Beenox is a porting company, and Vicarious Visions make all kinds of movie-tie-ins/ports.

woot - cant wait - it better be on the wii

daniel craig is so much better than pierce brosnan - pierce always seemed a bit slimey or stuck up his own backside :D

Wha...? Pierce was class. Daniel Craig seems so crap.

They should make this with Pierce or one of the older Bonds rather than Danny. Lets hope it plays well and can get somewhere near being a game worth getting! It could be class with some four player action.

I hope this is good, James Bond games are probably my favourite type of shooter, and I haven't played a good one since Nightfire on the gamecube. It will probably never be as good as Goldeneye was, but if acitvision put some effort in (and ask free radical for some help lol) it could be a fun game.

I agree, Daniel Craig just didnt feel like James Bond to me. Sure, Casino Royale was a good film, but it didnt feel very "bondy" to me. Brosnan was the best Bond for me, shame he quit.

Sorry for getting my facts wrong then buttons  I would have just preferred him to Daniel Craig. Sean Connery did it when he was really old didnt he???
