Sounds like Red Steel 2 to me. Let's hope this is Unreal Engine 3 Wii Edition, and not the Unreal Engine 2.5 GameCube Edition frpm Red Steel they're referring to. It depends on how much Ubi is willing to invest...

Sounds pretty good. I certainly won't mind Red Steel 2, as the original was a very enjoyable game, albeit with some launch title issues. If they spend more time ironing out the bugs, improve the cutscenes and controls (which were fine to start with IMO), it'll be a great game.

If it's a different title, it's fine as well. Anything with a high production value is what the Wii needs more of.

I thought Unreal Engine 3 wasn't being ported to the Wii?

Re-reading it doesn't specify which UE it is though. We can hope.

I'd be very surprised if this was the Unreal 3 Engine...would they really put in the effort trying to get it running on the Wii?

Maybe Ubisoft are trying to redeem themselves?

Well, I asked this from my pal who knows programmers at Ubisoft Paris. He forwarded my question to his friends, and the cynical answer* he got was "One of those shitty games for Wii that nobody wants to develop and nobody wants to play. Can't disclose more.". Doesn't sound very promising.

Ah, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 has some tacky Connect24 feature, then.

Gearbox was doing it, Gearbox works with Ubisoft though...

But I doubt it, judging from Ubisoft treatment we're getting... I'm not expecting much.

I expect a little from gearbox though. (ubisoft will publish that)

But the fact that it was being done by a developer alone means that UE3 still won't be licenced for Wii.

When will Ubisoft learn?

Stupid f*cks, I hope they don't profit from it.

I also doubt the guys who did raving rabbids really wanted to do a second game, they'd rather do Beyond Good and Evil 2, for example. (or a "real" Rayman game for that matter)

Teppo, you seem to have 'contacts' in every development studio. I think you use 'contacts' to portray your own opinions, but I could be wrong.

Got an e-mail about Ubidays and there is those 2 Red Steel characters there down at the bottom,so maybe Red Steel 2 will get officially announced now.

Argh fuck Ubisoft, they're just shitting all over the Wii with their half-assed games.

Ha if it was anybody else but Ubisoft making this game then i would have some hope for it.

They really suck these days.

Actually I thought R6: Vegas on the 360 was awesome, and Assassin's Creed has a great amount of potential.

Ubisoft and the Wii though, *shudder*, they've been cashing in on some really crap games, when is there actually going to be a good (original) Wii game from Ubisoft bar Rabbids?

Ubisoft's only good Wii Game so far is Red Steel.

Funny Joke.

Seriously though Red Steel had potential but was rushed into release so the game was very buggy and the novelty of playing wore off quickly (Sword Fighting wasn't even fun) after the Fun House level.

The rest of the game was painful to play, compared to many good FPSes Red Steel was very average.

I guess I should put IMO here since this is my opinion and you can still like the game no matter my opinion.

Actually to be fair though I haven't played Rabbids so that could turn out to be not that great too.

Red steel is quite good but rayman is better.

red steel 2 will be awesome i believe. All they need to do is correct all the following problems.

1:graphics were average made a little better from overly bright lightning

2:Make the god damn crosshair more visable

3:Better controls, faster turning. button for zooming in this time.

4:Voice acting that doesn;t make you laugh

5:Music is fine but it's all over the place

6:Actual cutscenes not those cheap comic pictures

7:Sword fightning needs improvment

8: Better balance of weapons. Why is the pistol the best weapon?

9:Single player lasts long enough but the multiplayer needs more effort and we also want multi sword fighting.

10: on-line with sword fightning

11:honestly i don't think the recharging health bar works in this game

That's all i can think of

Just borrowed Red Steel off of a friend, it's quite good. But I think the frame rate lets it down to be honest.

So I think you should add that to your list mcj.

Have only got a little way into the game so far, just gone to tokyo, so I don't know how it plays out from there.
