Dante Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 ;505058"]They are good. Although FOTLIB is a bit milder compared to the rest of the album. My personal favourite is "Pledge of Allegiance" Pledge of Allegiance is my favourite song as well Ash. I like the song lyrics as well.
Ashley Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Pledge of Allegiance is my favourite song as well Ash.I like the song lyrics as well. They're lyrics are dirty fun. "She says head case head case Turn that thing around Let's play a game when you hear me make a sound Just go quite a bit faster Pretend that I'm gagged and bound Oh how I love to hear that sound" "If you want to take my body tonight (I think I'm seeing double) Then you got to be somebody tonight (I think I'm seeing double) Use me just to make your body feel right" "Ah bang a gong or get it on We don't need to take off our clothes to get it on Pull your skirt up a little bit Pull down your top and show me a little tit" (I love the way the word "tit" is almost spat out of his mouth) The amount of times I've played that album at work and nobody has noticed.
harribo Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Does anyone know where I can download music videos from (for free), or is there not such a place? Youtube with the aid of the video downloader addon in Firefox.
JoeTrumpet Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Aight guys here is a good question - What is your favourite Nirvana song? Mine is Pennyroyal Tea by some distance... That's easy! The only one I've ever heard: Heart-Shaped Box. Thanks, Guitar Hero II! Also, thanks to the person that recommended Battles. It's nice to hear a modern rock band that I enjoy.
Oditri Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I'm a bit more of a metal-head myself: Dragonforce, Rhapsody of Fire, Manowar and Hammerfall to name a few. Any other crazed metal-heads out there?
Oxigen_Waste Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I'm a bit more of a metal-head myself: Dragonforce, Rhapsody of Fire, Manowar and Hammerfall to name a few. Any other crazed metal-heads out there? Plenty. But none are into gay metal, my friend. You need to listen to male music. I mean, Hammerfall has got to be the most god-awfull metal band ever. Even for a power metal band, they are extremely sub-standard. Try Death, Black, Sludge, Thrash, whatever... anything except Power Metal.
The Bard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I'm hugely into metal, but I fucking hate most power metal. It just tends to be glorified, overly cheesy pop music. Blind Guardian are ass kickingly awesome though, apart from their appalling Tolkien obsession. Aight guys here is a good question - What is your favourite Nirvana song? Mine is Pennyroyal Tea by some distance... Heart Shaped Box. Nirvana are great, only Grunge band worth a damn...maybe apart from Mudhoney. Oooh yeeeah. I've got Caring Is Creepy by The Shins stuck in my head. It's fucken ace. I doubt anyone will agree .
Oditri Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Urgh...I can't be doing with screaming. Oh, and does listening to gay metal make any difference if you are gay? Sorry, but give me Dragonforce over Slipknot any day...
The Bard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 And Holy fuck, is To Bid You Farewell the best song of all time? Opeth blow me away. ^Oh and dude, Slipknot...aren't really metal.
Slaggis Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Youtube with the aid of the video downloader addon in Firefox. lol, thx I knew that, but they just aren't to great quality. Are there any sites at all with good-ish (or more) quality music videos available for free? Or am I asking for too much? :p
Oditri Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I tend to use torrents to get music videos. No problems so far.
Ashley Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I've got Caring Is Creepy by The Shins stuck in my head. It's fucken ace. I doubt anyone will agree . I have that song, can't remember what its like. Will listen to it in a second, am listening to Gym Class Heroes right now.
Oditri Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 ^Oh and dude, Slipknot...aren't really metal. Meh, you know what I mean...
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Favourite Nirvana song is either You Know You're Right, or the acoustic MTV-unplugged versions of About a Girl and All Apologies.
Ashley Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 And I'm back. 'Silence is Creepy' is okay. Will need to give it a few more listens to really get a feel for it though.
The Bard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Eh? I thought it was called Caring Is Creepy. It's oddly melodic for an Indie Song. In fact, I can't call them indie, they have too much heart. Pretty tranquil, folk-ish stuff.
Dante Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I going to download Killswitch Engage albums because i had two songs by them for a year.
Oxigen_Waste Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Urgh...I can't be doing with screaming. Oh, and does listening to gay metal make any difference if you are gay? Sorry, but give me Dragonforce over Slipknot any day... That final sentence is completely stupid. I mean, Slipknot?? Lol, before you call yourself a metalhead, think twice, my dear. You are in no position to use that term in reference to yourself. I've got Caring Is Creepy by The Shins stuck in my head. It's fucken ace. I doubt anyone will agree .[/color] I agree.
The fish Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I am in love with Maximo Park and The Killers. That is all you need to know...
Slaggis Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I tend to use torrents to get music videos. No problems so far. I try that, in vain. Such slow speeds. Thanks for trying to help though
Tom Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 A mate recommended Emily Haines And The Soft Skeleton. Just listened to it, and i liked what I heard. I'm not sure what was so good, as she is like any other female vocalist. I think it might have been the piano that made it for me. I am having a weird music stage at the moment. Up untill about 12 months ago I was very metal, but ever since I discovered Death Cab for Cutie I am spreading out loads and listening to much more electronic stuff I wouldn't have dreamed of listenign to even 6 months ago, like Chemical Brothers, Pendulum and Squarepusher. It''s very odd. Live though, you still can't beat a good metal gig.
Oditri Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 The Slipknot was a reference to a band that screams, I wasn't saying they were metal. Meh, I don't care. Dragonforce FTW all the way, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I said more of a metalhead, and I wasn't entirely sure of myself when I typed it. My music taste is so varied, if I listed my whole music collection and asked for opinions on what I am, most answers would probably come back "freak". My music collection ranges through Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Loituma (A Finnish folk band), Strawberry Flower (composers of the Japanese Pikmin theme), My Chemical Romance and Within Temptation. Want to try and define my music taste?
The Bard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I going to download Killswitch Engage albums because i had two songs by them for a year. Excellent. What songs have you heard? I agree. I was wondering if you would ...I think we see eye to eye on a musical basis most of the time : peace: Ithyphallic (new Nile album) out tomorrow!! Awesomeness. Want to try and define my music taste? Is the word "Shit" blunt enough?
The Bard Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Not really. :p Hehe...automated reaction when you said you liked MCR
