Posted January 28, 2009 HOLY SHIT. Half way through Grammatics self titled album and it is amazing. This could easily be the album of the year (unless Muse get one out this year) and is definitely an album I have to physically own. anyway some wiki description about them: Grammatics are a complex but melodic four piece indie-rock group from Leeds, UK, consisting of Owen Brinley (guitar/vocals), Emilia Ergin (cello), Dominic Ord (drums) and Rory O’Hara (bass). the band shared a desire to sway the UK indie scene away from the minimalist barebones approach employed by many post-Libertines and Strokes bands of the time and reinject some drama and grandeur back into English music. They resolved to do this with an approach they termed ‘maximalist’ and took to filling their sound out with any instruments available to hand, no matter how cheap and basic. Posted January 28, 2009 I like the idead they're trying to put across - It's high time Netto indie died a well earned death IMO- but I don't find that track particularly interesting. I think Young Team might be one of the best rock albums of all time. It's just so fucking good. Music is bigger than words and wider than pictures I know you've not always been a fan paj but you should check out Young Team out if you can. Sublime. I think Young Team might be one of the best rock albums of all time. It's just so fucking good. Posted January 28, 2009 I've never posted in this thread before, but I've listened to other peoples contributions and been pleasantly surprised on occasions. My brother told me about this band called Empire of the Sun. I did a quick search and didn't find any mention of them in this thread, so I thought I'd post one of their tracks which has me hooked at the moment.
