Some dudes and dudettes have hijacked my other thread with Bloc Party talk, so I felt the urge to create a thread about the new album, to keep them at bay.

It's a great album, imo. I can't get the riff for Hunting for Witches out of my head.

My favourite songs on the album are I still remember and Sunday. It's different to Silent Alarm, which is excellent, as there is no way that I want the two to compete. I'm glad it's not just a "same as the first but more" album, as it gives it its own identity.

Agreed there mr flink sir. Quality album. Hunting for witches is a class track and a half. I also like Where is Home- that's a really powerful, angry song. It's fantastic.

I love the start of hunting for witches and uniform is also class. I am yet to really "sig" the last few tracks o i will have to listen to them more and post some feedback.

Er, it's Bloc Party. Indie. You all know how I feel about indie...:heh:

Then why the hell are you posting in this thread?

+1 Pointless points.

Fucking incredible album, especially Hunting for Witches, waiting for the 7:18, Song for clay and the prayer.

I've got Where is Home on right now. It reminds me a little of Idioteque by Radiohead in certain parts. Great songs, both of them.

I love Bloc Party. Seen them live 4 times now. So yes I love the new album. I still remember and waiting for the 7:18 are awesome tracks!

I just love the whole album and what it's all about. Just listening to some of the lyrics they are superb. Plus a lot of it is about London life and as Bloc Party come from just down the road from me at New Cross I can relate to what Kele is singing about quite a bit.

When I saw them live few weeks back there was one song where the bassist went on another drum kit and so they had 2 drummers bashing out some beats... but cant remember what song now.

If you havent seen them live then I highly recommend you go. I have been 4 times and yet still tried to get tickets for their upcoming Brixton gig!! Love it!

I saw bloc party last month on the 25th. It was fantastic. They played a nice selection of Silent alarm and Weekend in the city. Off the top of my head, Song for Clay, Hunting for witches, blue light, Banquet, like eating glass, pioneers, the prayer, two more years, this modern love, among others. Then they finished it off with helicopter, just as everyone thought they could take no more.

Yeah, they did that when I went to see them as well, I can't remember the song but it was awesome.

EDIT: I think it was the prayer.

I do like this album, can't decide whether this or Silent Alarm is better. My favourites are I still Remeber, The Prayer and Hunting for Witches.

I think Silent Alarm is better but I still really love this album! Its currently the soundtrack to my 360 games!!!

I remember seeing them headline the Radio 1 tent at Reading! I somehow managed to get right to the front, it was awesome!!!

That was 2005 right?

Cos I was at Leeds and saw them in the Radio 1/NME tent and was at the front to due to crowd surfing my way there :D

This album isn't as 'pacey' or as raw as Silent Alarm, but it does some quite 'riff-tastic' :heh:

It seems like they've matured quite a bit since the first album.

I agree, and I'm glad it is different from Silent Alarm. I'm always dissappointed when bands release the same old crap all the time!

Oh, yes 2005! I some how got squeezed/pushed to the front! It was brilliant!

Lies. Boo. Heckle Heckle! :heh:

I Still Remember is currently my favourite song off the album.

The Prayer must be the most over rated song of all time. I think there are too many boring bands these days. The last band that really made me go WOW! was the artic monkeys.

How did they make you go WOW! ? They're decent but theres nothing so special about them.

Oi! Same old crap?! :heh:

I agree though. Change is good! It's not too drastic, either, which is great. It still sounds like Bloc Party, but different.

It's not my favourite song on the album, but I like it. I don't think it's really 'rated' at all, so I can't see how it's over-rated. It's not like it's been played every hour of the day on every radio station or music tv channel, so I disagree there.

I can't staaaand the artic monkeys, really just can't get into them.
