  1. There isn’t much more of interest in the article to be honest. There is a lot coming out from all of this and I expect even more yet to come. I do wodner if this will bring out more issues at other companies too, would probably do the industry good to expose a lot more of this stuff. People have (and continue to) try to make something like this happen. I’m not really sure why it never takes off. I suspect the industry is still a passion for a lot of people and with limited roles it’s easy for companies to hold the power. People working in the industry probably also don’t associate themselve with needing a union either.
  2. Great pictures @Goafer - I’m surprised you’re allowed to fly a drone living so close to a base. We live on the flightpath for the main Singapore airbase and have jets fly overhead a few times a day. My attempts to photograph them are pretty bad due to only having a phone camera. I’m tempted to buy something a bit better just to get a decent shot of them.
  3. Yeah I would think it’s a mix of things. Amount of running, type of running, recovery, diet, health care etc. As with anything you have to aim to get the balance right. This sounds like a nightmare, I’d totally hate to have that happen. But I guess it kind of makes sense, either your bones are rubbing against each other or they’re not, and I suppose that last little bit of protection is there one minute and then gone. Still, I REALLY hope that doesn’t happen to me. For my training I’m doing well. I’ve been jogging every other day and working on body strength in-between. I’m not within 200km of my 1,000km target for the year which I’m pretty happy about.
  4. Game the takes you back to your childhood For me it would be Super Mario Land on the gameboy. Lot’s of happy memories playing this with my Dad when we first got our gameboy. This was the first game I ever completed and one I still like to play now. I also love the music. It’s one of the main reasons I wish Analogue would hurry up with that damn Pocket.
  5. Have added your predictions to the rest @BowserBasher, hopefully you’re a bit more accurate than the rest of us. Update on complaint against @bob Following the results for Round 3 of the Predictions Game for the Hungarian Grand Prix, a complaint was raised by @bob against the predictions of @bob. The nature of the complaint being that @bob‘s predictions were ridiculous in nature. Having reviewed the complaint, we agree with @bob that @bob‘s predictions were indeed ridiculous, however, they did not contravene the game regulations in place at the time, and therefore @bob’s prediction score will stand. New rules have been put in place to prevent this happening in the future.
  6. I actually quite like the look of the WWE game, will probably pick that up.
  7. The game stewards will review the rules and submissions and come back with the final call on scoring. Final results shall be announced soon.
  8. Best Melee Combat For me this has to be Fighters Megamix on the Saturn. I was a huge fan of Virtua Fighter and Fighting Vipers so mixing the two together was always going to be a winner for me. The mixture of gameplay was done perfectly and the amount of extras was, for the time, quite incredible. It’s another game I must have put 1,000s of hours into.
  9. F1 2020 Predictions Game Round 3 Results Another dominant showing from Hamilton, maximum points for this race were: Pole - Hamilton (10) Fastest Lap - Hamilton (10) 1st - Hamilton (25 + 5) 2nd - Verstappen (18 + 5) 3rd - Bottas (15 + 5) 4th - Stroll (12 + 5) 5th - Albon (10 + 5)* *Pending investigation The results for this round: @bob - 70* @Mandalore - 58 @will' - 55 @Nicktendo - 40 * @bob selected Hamilton in all positions so scored 5 points for positions 2 to 5. Technically within the rules so the points stand for the moment. If anybody wants to lodge a complaint we will review the scores. And the overall standings (previous total in brackets): @will' - 148 (93) @Nicktendo - 111 (71) @bob - 100 (30) @Mandalore - 78 (20) @Goron_3 - 45 (45) British Grand Prix Predictions: Pole - Hamilton FL - Perez 1st - Hamilton 2nd - Bottas 3rd - Perez 4th - Russel 5th - Ricciardo *NEW RULE* - Each driver may only be selected once for the race positions. If a driver is selected multiple times the best position will be used as the prediction.
  10. The support races have been on a drying track, made for some very interesting races. F1 is looking to be even better with rain at the moment and forecasts for on/off showers throughout the race. Hopefully we get a cracker.
  11. Best mini game One I spent hours on as a kid was the Spheres game on Sonic and Knuckles. Originating in Sonic 3 the great thing about this version was that you could lock-on random games to the cartridge to get a unique game setup. Lots of fun and for me the best Sonic mini game of them all.
  12. Don’t forget to send me your predictions if you want to play our little game. Just need the following: Pole - Fastest Lap - 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - 5th - I hope the rain keeps up to make things at least a little interesting. Regardless of the weather I think Hamilton will dominate the weekend though.
  13. So I thought that whole thing was basically a waste of time? Quick look at the controller, told us some stuff we already knew and then interview with Eric (I used to work with his wife!) about global marketing. I’m glad I didn’t stay up specifically for it, but upset I watched this instead of doing something useful with my time.
  14. I guess maybe it is something to do with iOS14, I’ll try and dig around and see if there is a way to increase the volume above the current max.
  15. Quite interested to see the demo of the controller. I guess it will be hard to really sense what it is like until it’s in your hand but will be good to see some live impressions.
  16. Have fun! I’ve been out twice since our lockdown finished and it’s actually been really nice. Have been to a couple of bars that are usually quite touristy but of course there are no tourists around at the moment. Means that they’re nicely quiet and much more relaxed than usual. I almost wish the travel bans would never end.
  17. It did remind me that my favorite burger place is: Burger Bar There are a couple of standout burgers but you won’t go wrong whatever you pick. My personal favorite is the Hubert Keller burger which has spinach, blue cheese and a great sauce. It’s on the 6th floor of Macy’s in San Francisco but I think they have a few other locations too.
  18. At first I thought you were talking about Peaky Blinders, was considering an all night marathon to get through the whole thing.
  19. The thing I hate about “nice” burgers when I go out is I’m never sure how to eat them. I look at that one and it’s either going to be super messy or I eat it with a knife and fork. Either way I’m going to be looked at like I’m a small child who doesn’t know how to eat properly yet.
  20. It was awesome! So many good memories of that car, I miss it a lot.
  21. It was, the boot space was terrible! There’s a lot to be said for the “old but new to me” smell too. I doubt I’ll ever buy a new car again unless I start earning crazy money. I have a few ideas for my next car, just need to get out of Singapore first.
  22. I watched the first couple of episodes of The Man in the High Castle back when it first came out and really enjoyed it. Definitely on the list of things to catch up on at some point. Along a similar line we just finished watching For All Mankind on Apple TV. It’s alt history where Russia gets to the moon first and the space race just goes into over drive. Super interesting if you’re a fan of that sort of thing and explores a lot of interesting social issues too. One of the best things I’ve watched in a long time.
  23. Looking good! I feel like maybe this would make threads like this more interesting, having to post an action picture of yourself to demonstrate things. I totally love new car day, it’s been 11 and a half years since I last experienced it :-(
  24. Funny, this is pretty much how I’ve found season 1 the couple of times I’ve tried to watch it. I really want to like it as I love the setting and the care that’s gone into recreating everything but it’s just not grabbing me. I have promised myself to give it one more chance but just never find the motivation to put it back on.
  25. I’m listening to the latest episode on my iPhone and it seems like the dialogue volume has been set really low. I’ve got my device on max volume and can barely hear it where usually I’ve had no problem. I’ve just upgraded to iOS14 so thought it might have been that, but other podcasts seem to be fine - not sure if there is anything you can do on that front but thought I’d mention it. Other than that, still really enjoying the show. I’m slow to listen to it so haven’t commented much, but keep up the good work!
