Excellent wasn't he? Ashley would let go of him in a heartbeat if the money was right, but to service this I think he wants to wait and see how france do in the world cup. Struck me for a while as the exact sort of player that Man U need as well.... Yours for around £17-20m i reckon. On another note, Newcastle finally won again! Had a ramshackle second half but made it look comfortable in the end. West Ham are going down if they continue in that manner. Utter dross.

At the match today, hugely aggrieved for that goal not to have counted. Absolutely lethal strike and it gets ruled out because the Man City players essentially manage to scare the referee. Rarely had the atmosphere feel so toxic at St James Park. It was another big performance against a big team but sadly it just wasn't our day. Refereeing was all over the place and I think a good few cards, perhaps red, could have been handed out to both teams. Still, encouraging stuff all the same. Hopefully we can go on a winning streak as we have 3 very winnable fixtures coming up. Liverpool-Stoke sounds mental. Makes a change from all the 2-0s. On a side note, I still think Arsenal might have been the best team I've seen visit St James Park. City struggled a bit after the first 25 minutes and although always a threat on the counter given their pace and finishing, they weren't nearly as ruthless as I thought they'd be.

This season.

What do you make of Liverpool and Newcastle?
-
Getting really sick of not even taking the F.A cup remotely seriously
-
Hah sigh for the stupidity. One of the more blatant red cards you'll see. He was in such great form as well, poor start to 2014 for the lads

Yeah it was a decent game, interesting tactical battle going on. Felt we deserved a draw but I don't begrudge Arsenal the win - although by the end of the match I'd really rather it wasn't Giroud scoring the goal. The ref was just plain weird. I suppose he wanted to 'let the game flow' but there's a limit. Back into 8th now. Hopefully we can take encouragement and get back to winning ways against west brom on new years day.

Merry Christmas to me, from me.

6th at christmas above Spurs and Man U. 5 away wins. A win at Old Trafford. Massive improvement in individual performances from players. Managerial adjustments that keep paying off. Holding off Suarez and Sturridge for nearly an entire second half with 10 men and even going ahead at one point. No money wasted on shite players in the transfer window. 3rd season in a row we've got a win against Chelsea. Fucking excellent this season! Also great to see Liverpool and Arsenal top of the league at Christmas.

Interesting draw. Arsenal must be kicking themselves for letting the top spot of that group slip right at the last. Man U and Chelsea should get through at least. I'll also stick me neck out right now and say that City will. I expect Arsenal to go out but they have a fighting chance. Bayern probably did not want to face them as much as any club. With regards to Spurs: it figures. While their points tally isn't too bad, they have been playing some dreadful stuff. That whole 'Spurs as title contenders' talk looks very silly now.

Nice to see Bayern are not so invincible after all, sounded like it was a good comeback from City. In other news, Juventus got knocked out by Galatasaray earlier today. Would've liked to see them win the thing as well, thought they had a reasonable chance! Could well be no italian teams past the group stages after tonight. Also, the pitch at that game: lol

Bad day at the office for the toon. 3-0 is harsh I feel, could've been 1-0 up but for a tremendous save and were denied what I felt was a clear penalty at 1-0 down. Never mind. Wouldn't like to call the Man U game at the weekend at all. But I'll go with 1-1.

6th after 13 games, perfect league win record in November, above Man United and Spurs despite having spent sweet fuck all over the summer. It may not last but boy this feels good at the moment

Had a couple of hours on the PS4 after work, thoroughly enjoyed it. The controller feels lovely, a subtle enough change on the DS3 to make a fairly drastic improvement. The UI is nice, although i hope for some customisable aspects to come our way! Most of all I'm impressed by just how dam pretty Killzone looks. Maybe I had lowered my expectations too much but there is a significant leap over current gen with this and we're only on the first wave of games. It'll be interesting to see what developers can do with the system a couple of years down the line. So yeah, pretty happy with it so far. Fifa 14 arriving later today, I'll already have 4 games to play Haven't had a console on launch day since the original DS - feels nice to have the whole launch day hype going on. even if the servers are dying atm

My order has left the warehouse! Woooooo. Pretty excited now. I'm at work on friday (nightshift, should still be in to get it delivered) but then have the whole weekend free
-
We're still 8th! The only way that could have happened was if City beat Spurs by 3 goals or more. Cheers City! (I mean assuming Spurs were never going to outright win that game) Things going fairly well for Newcastle at the moment. Keeping pace with the top half of the table, manager getting his tactics right and previous has-been players finding form again. I'm not greedy and I'd be very happy indeed with an 8th place finish come the end of the season. One gripe though, I wish we could have at least one win where we thrash a team. All of our victories are so nervy! Still, it's nice to be above Spurs. Especially if you compare the transfer budgets....

Much obliged, was hoping something like this would pop up. Just put my order in! Hype train can officially leave the station. Choo choooooo :bouncy: :bouncy:

Some good defending by the Mancs there, made Arsenal look pretty toothless up front. For me their best player was probably Bacary Sagna, which says something considering all the talent they have in midfield. Rooney was excellent, his work rate beggars belief sometimes. Great weekend for Man U/Liverpool/Southampton. As for Sunderland beating Man City - what is with City's away form? I don't exactly rejoice in the mackems getting a win but it is nice to not be the only team who they've beaten this season.
