Looks like the 4 best teams finally made it through to the semi finals all in one tournament. No clear favourites either as far as I can tell, though maybe Dortmund have the honour of being the year's underdogs. Maybe.

Depends how you meant it. If you genuinely dislike Thatcher and were using the exaggeration of your opinions for comic effect then there was no sense of humour failure on my part as that just wasn't funny. Judging from the clichéd simile you've just used I'm willing to bet it's this one. If you couldn't actually care either way and were doing an impersonation of a stereotypical thatcher hater with a sense of irony, then fair enough, that went over my head and in retrospect was fairly amusing.

A hero with complete and utter morons perhaps. A murderer to anyone else.

Young's a great 'Fifa addition' to the team. Very useful on Fifa, seems to do little whenever I see him play these days. QPR is a full on Fifa team What do you make of Van Persie's lack of form?

Did that test and got Emergent service worker. I have no money to my name. Pretty sure I'd be taking the piss if I tried to claim I was working class. I'm northern, but that's all the street cred I have. Family never really had any money problems, my Dad is a lawyer, my mum's a manager in an office, I've gone to university. That said I'm not traditionally 'posh' in the way I behave. I place myself as lower-middle, which is convenient as if I were anything higher I'd start to feel guilty, being a member of the Labour party and all . That said, I've noticed 'posh' to be a fairly relative thing. I've been 'accused' of it before just for not being absolute broad as fuck Geordie in the way I talk.

I dislike her policies but I hold some respect for the sheer brass balls she had as a politician. I find revelling in her death quite distasteful, which seems to put me in a minority concerning people of a similar political persuasion to myself. Although she was disastrous in her own special way, I think I marginally prefer her to David Cameron. I think the country could do with a leader of her style these days, but certainly not her policies.

Ah well we look alright now but had we lost today and Sunderland had won (which they were at one point) it would've been quite a different story. For now though we're rocking the heady heights of 13th place, woo!

Pfffft... What's not memorable about being in a relegation battle? I really want Arsenal to get top 4 over Spurs. Shouldn't really have a preference but I just think the longer it goes on (Arsenal guaranteed CL football, above Spurs) the funnier it becomes. Plus cocky Spurs fans are irritating.

Hey you missed out the most important result! Massive win for us against Fulham. We dominated the vast majority of the match and should have had a penalty for a really blatant handball off the line, but thankfully it didn't matter as Cisse again decided to leave it to the 93rd minute to score. Most I've celebrated a goal in quite some time that. Also, Sunderland lost! Thank goodness. The biggest of derby games next week now...

Completely forgot about football today, somehow. More bad results for Newcastle and my fantasy team did crap again This game against Fulham is shaping up to be massive...

... Everything is rubbish =(

Bricking it slightly for the game against Benfica tonight. Away to the top Portuguese side in the league, I read somewhere that only Barca have beaten them at home this season. With that in mind, I'll go ahead and hope for a scoring draw at best. Just as long as we don't get absolutely thrashed and have some hope to take back to St James Park - I have tickets for that fixture. £15 for a european quarter final against Benfica! Newcastle are quite generous with their ticket prices these days.

Lost 4-0 away to City.... Meh, figures.

So my contract is expiring soon and I'm going to be getting a new phone. Pretty set on sticking with WP8, so I'm looking at the range of Nokias. Depending on the prices I'm offered, I might get the 920 or 820. Does anyone have one of these?

So Wigan should have been down to 10 while there was handling on their part just before the winner. We weren't great but I feel like we've been had, we should have had a draw there. That said, the lack of creativity in the team was palpable without Cabaye/Ben Arfa/Debuchy. Cisse needs to learn how to beat offside traps as well.

Oh I remember that! Although I think ours was 'home for tea/ at half past three'. Busting some rhymes, yo.
-
Sounds a right bell end. The North/South divide is bizzare, so many people on either side who have so little contact/knowledge with the other side.
-
Yeah but they would actually mean Tea, the drink, surely? 'Afternoon tea' is like a whole 'nother thing innit.
-
That's a very good point actually. Although I can't imagine a truly posh person ever calling it tea.
-
I always thought this was one of those weird manifestations of the class system. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner if you're a bit more middle class and Breakfast, Dinner, Tea is you're less posh. Then again it might be a bit north/south as well, I've noticed no one down here call the evening meal 'Tea'. Personally I don't mind what the midday meal is called but I call the evening meal dinner. Tea just doesn't sound as nice I guess?

Missed the match because I was out but, another last minute Cisse goal and Newcastle are through to the quarter finals of the europa league! HOWAY THE LADS!

Once again in possibly the least cared about match of the day, Newcastle managed to put in a solid performance and beat Stoke at home, 2-1. Was terrified when the ball fell to Cisse in the last minute, lest he miss another sitter, but he tucked it away nicely. His form gradually seems to be improving these days, as does the team overall. Feel good about the team at the moment but we need to work on consistency. The balls into the box from the wings and the finishing are both a bit hit and miss at the moment. Anyway, we're right back in with all the mid table teams on 33 points now. Good stuff. As for the other matches - very pleased Liverpool won that actually. Haven't seen it, just read the updates - seems like Liverpool should had more than the one penalty?

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

Another fan of Frank Ocean here. It took me a little while to really get into the album as a whole (although enjoyment of Pyramids was immediate) but I really think it's brilliant now. I had that kind of 'breakthrough' moment with the album while I was high...one of my most memorable listening experiences. Similar moments include jamming to Echoes by Pink Floyd, Candle by Sonic Youth and the Trans Europe Express album by Kraftwerk. Also, @Aneres11 - I agree about the artwork! It's strangely captivating... Been filling in the blanks of my Chemical Brothers collection recently, discovered this gem... Bouncin' -
Having gambled here and there myself and having experienced 'the buzz', I can really see why so many people start to develop a problem around it. I play the odd game of poker, which isn't really gambling in the same sense as the element of luck is massively reduced and if you really know what you're doing, should be almost completely removed.

Well my first effort was to send a former NBA player over there as a shrewd act of diplomacy. It went okay.
