HAPPY belated BIRTHDAYS!
-
So did anyone ever actually pick this up? I did and I love it. A little shorter remember, but with way more extras than I recalled so I still got around 25 hours out of this. Managed to go back and get Jet ranking on every level, unlock every character and find every graffiti soul. The game still feels pretty fresh, fun and it looks great. The controls leave a little something to be desired but they're not game-wreckingly bad. Anyone else get this?

Did everyone see Dembe Ba's hand goal? It was a thing of beauty, and a refereeing decision that bad was pretty much what we needed to get a point against Reading. We are not playing well and are really starting to ride our luck a bit. The points tally is decent enough for now but we need to pick up soon if we fancy our chances of a top 6 finish. Hopefully the squad will be back to full strength and be back to the more fluid, defensively solid football that was played last season. None of this 2-2 bollocks with Cisse and Cabaye doing naff all
-
Just seen this. That's pretty interesting, didn't know that and it seems encouraging. Then again I'm pretty sure the Dreamcast sold shedloads at the start of it's early life

Went to see the match against Norwich today - only cost £10 for a seat with a student ticket Fairly pleased with the performance, can't grumble too much at 3 points and a clean sheet. Ba and Ben Arfa performed well and our defence were solid despite lacking some key players, including the first choice keeper. The midfield struggled to connect with the forwards a lot of the time though and I thought Cisse and Cabaye were pretty disappointing. That penalty miss >_> Still, fairly pleased with what might be the only home game I see this season. Watching MOTD, I was very pleased to see Arsenal get that equaliser against City. It would be great to see them mount a title challenge this season. Must say I feel quite sorry for Liverpool so far, I think they've been hard done by and 2 points doesn't reflect their quality at all. I'm pretty sure they'll pick up as the season goes on. Also, Ljunberg on MOTD is such a nice contrast to Mark Lawrenson. A delight to watch off the pitch as well as on.

Word up. Such a good game, the graphics were top notch back in the day. I wrote a longer reply but I'll make it more concise now my comp deleted it... I didn't have faith before now, this hasn't restored it. I still think they can make the occasional AAA game when they feel like it, but that's it. The casual gamer market may well have moved on so they won't be getting those sales anymore. I can't see this enticing over 360/PS3 fans and apparently (as proved in this thread) they're alienating their core base at the moment. As I understand it, their financial state currently leaves something to be desired. If things go from bad to worse as I think they might, I think this could end up being Nintendo's Dreamcast....

Ah, the new iPod touch starts from £249....that might just be a little bit out of my reach.
-
iPhone 5 doesn't look like the next big thing many were hoping it would be. Seems a shame. However, I was never interested in that - I'm one of the few people tuning in who actually wanted an iPod upgrade. And hurrah! They're not dead! Think I might pick up one of the new touches in the near future. I would go for the nano again, but somehow 16GB is too small these days.

Bet y'all didn't see that one coming.

That jumper was how much?! In all seriousness though I'm much closer to Caris' line of thought on this than the opposing 'all fashion is BS' mindset. Most of the people who tend to complain about others following trends and all looking the same, will usually be the people who dress as generically as possible. Just that their particular choice of clothing will look generic in more than one 'season'. As for my personal taste, I just like seeing what I can get on the cheap that suits me. I like buying nice clothes but I don't really have the money to be buying things I like full price, so I tend to get a bunch of stuff at once in the sales. Zara and Urban Outfitters would probably be my favorite places to shop at the moment. Also, band t shirts are freaking awesome.

'Some worrying news for Tottenham fans: the club may have agreed a £22m deal with Porto for Joao Moutinho, but the player himself is having none of it' From the Guardian liveblog on deadline day here. And personally I can see why someone might not want to play for a London club. I mean for a start they'd have to live there - personally I'm quite keen on the place but completely understand when people say they are not. Even if that information is correct, I personally think Spurs have done quite well in this transfer window. Ade, Siggy, Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, Dempsey - all really quite good players and all seemed to have been signed at reasonable prices - particularly Lloris. I think I agree with dazzybee on this.
-
In fairness to Spurs, they were more than prepared to break their own record in order to sign Moutinho. As it happens, the fella just didn't fancy playing there (from what I've read) , so you can't really place too much fault at Spurs' transfer style for that one.
-
Well 1-1 will have to do I suppose. Not been too impressed with us so far this season but to abuse statistics and frame things in a positive light: Last Season: NCL 2 - 2 Spurs NCL 0 - 3 Chelsea NCL 1- 1 Aston Villa Our goal difference is two better and we have two more points from the same teams, even if not the exact same fixtures.
-
Falcao? Is your attack not good enough already? I know Torres is doing fairly well at last, but if £50m was paid for him then at least £80m should be paid for Falcao. Well not quite but you get what I mean. Been watching a fair bit of Atletico recently and it has crossed my mind a few times that a) Falcao is extremely good and b) Probably too good for Atletico - maybe a premier league club will transfer him... Would be bloody Chelsea though wouldn't it.... In other news - Half time and Newcastle are losing to Aston Villa? FUCKS SAKE! Sort it out lads.
-
Newcastle have made it through to the Europa League group stages. Just. Good result all the same
-
Group A: Porto, Dynamo Kiev, Paris St-Germain, Dinamo Zagreb Group B: Arsenal, Schalke, Olympiakos, Montpellier Group C: Milan, Zenit St Petersburg, Anderlecht, Malaga Group D: Real Madrid, Manchester City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund Group E: Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, Nordsjaelland Group F: Bayern Munich, Valencia, Lille, Bate Borisov Group G: Barcelona, Benfica, Spartak Moscow, Celtic Group H: Manchester United, Braga, Galatasaray, Cluj Bad luck for Manchester City there. Arsenal and Chelsea seem to have drawn pretty fair groups, while Man United have to be pleased with their group. Also - I'd love to see Celtic beat Barcelona.
-
Spurs look to have signed Dembele and Lloris. At a cost of £15m and £12m for the pair of them. Lloris seems like a bargain at that price. Glad we already have one of our Spurs games out of the way already

I really wasn't aware a lot of people didn't use the seatbelt in a taxi. They drive like maniacs half the time =/

What a game that was! Granted I was only watching it on the TV but the atmosphere at Anfield seemed positively electric. Really feel for Liverpool. They really deserved to win that, so to have it finish 2-2 with such silly concessions must feel like a right kick in the teeth. Sterling looked great, very promising youngster.
-
Took the words right out of my mouth. This is exactly what sprang to my mind when I saw the prices. Personally I still can't get over how Swansea bagged Michu for £2m. Crazy. Hope Cazorla comes good tomorrow, I need some fantasy team points. As for the match today: a bit poor. We came back into it a little in the second half but Ba and Cisse had a rare game of not being able to finish their chances and in the end the opposition ground out the win nicely. Not too disappointing as after all, our win at Stamford Bridge last season was the first for as long as I have been alive Chelsea look completely rejuvenated with the addition of Hazard. It will be very interesting to see if they can keep this up all season.

The Mental Health Thread - Living in the cuckoo's nest

I scored 11 on that test - so I guess I'm fairly 'normal'? I used to be terribly shy as a child but nowadays I tend to do alright. I can get a little bit anxious about social situations that contain people I'm only vaguely familiar with - people I know or complete strangers don't really bother me. Occasionally a social occasion with feel like such an effort, but really this rarely happens anymore. -
