Nintendo would be damned fools not to work out some sort of partnership with Konami for PES. If not exclusivity, then exclusive features. Give it a big push, maybe even score some licensed players/clubs on Konami's behalf!
-
This is my surprised face... And that's the end of EA's support for Wii U completely.
-
Not bad considering that it's supposedly only going over Spring/Summer releases, but it's hard to not feel a bit of disappointment. Not much new and what was new was disappointing (who cares about yet another Mario & Sonic Olympics game? And while Yakuza 1 & 2 HD is nice, it's hardly a big deal...) Sonic Lost World being Wii U exclusive was a nice surprise though. I wonder if it might be that Nintendo Co-developed "Sonic Dimensions" games that was rumoured before. If so, then it's something to be genuinly excited about if Nintendo are actually making it (they are probably the only ones who could actually make a good Sonic game worthy of the MD classics) I'm so getting New Super Luigi U in physical form though. That's gonna become the new Metroid Prime Trilogy/Earthbound/US Super Mario All Stars for sure! It'll be worth some mad dosh in the future!

Nintendo to profit from YouTube videos
Dcubed replied to Dog-amoto's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Dailymotion? Blip?, Crackle?, Springboard? There are quite a few alternatives out there and plenty of names have made good use of them (Theguywiththeglasses uses Blip and they've done very well for themselves) -
That is cute as hell And people think that newbies don't need things like Miiverse or Super Guide to help them I can't wait to see their reactions after trying Super Ghouls N' Ghosts!

Nintendo to profit from YouTube videos
Dcubed replied to Dog-amoto's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's standard industry practice. Nintendo are actually being quite lenient here and are allowing these videos to carry on being uploaded (which they rightly pointed out is uncommon amongst VG Publishers as the likes of Microsoft, Arc System Works and SEGA have had videos removed at their own discretion). Making derivative works that utilise copyrighted assets and products is one thing, profiting off them without the permission of the copyright holder is another thing entirely. The only reason why people are making a big deal about this is because Nintendo is an easy target (and a whipping boy within the industry by and large). And as has been pointed out before, it's perfectly possible for LPs to still earn ad revenue so long as they to through the proper channels, rather than subverting Youtube's rules. -
Nintendo has this playable at the MCM Expo in London next week, so presumably it's coming out over here soon http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/05/nintendo_unleashed_tour_coming_to_2013_mcm_london_comic_con

Oh hey! Speak of the devil! Right! Here's hoping for a consistent release schedule after G&W, a localisation for DQX and Pokemon Rumble U, a plethora of VC releases and details on the summer Wii U System Update (live video recording/sharing on Miiverse and online live streaming please!)
-
Hey, so I've been theorising that Nintendo might offer some game video recording/sharing features on Wii U in the future, similar to what Sony are promising with the PS4. I mean, the video encoding/decoding hardware is already there in the Wii U and they already record live game video in the background to generate the Gamepad video stream (the console can also support 2 Gamepads, so recording both the TV and the Gamepad gameplay is no problem either)... Even live streaming gameplay as you play the game would be very possible with no hit to gameplay performance at all... Plus they have that currently unused SD card slot that does not format your card, making it perfectly suited for saving videos onto...) And lo and behold, Nintendo have started doing Content ID matching on Youtube! http://www.gamefront.com/nintendo-flexing-copyright-clout-on-youtube-lets-play-channels/ So I was wondering whether this move to grant Nintendo greater control of videos on Youtube is a sign that they might be looking to offer video sharing via Miiverse sooner rather than later (perhaps even as part of the mysterious summer update that we know next to nothing about!) Or is it just Nintendo protecting their own interests and completely unrelated to Wii U?

I'm not even gay, but I may have to make an exception for Chris! Hubba hubba!

Bit misleading there because 1.5GB of RAM was used for non graphics related purposes according to those slides, leaving "only" 3.5GB of RAM unaccounted for (and out of that, you've probably got the OS taking up 0.5-1GB of that, so that's actually about 2.5-3GB left over). That's still a hell of a lot though!

Hey look what Japan is getting next week... Looks like we may not have to wait long for Mega Man X, if what Brelston of Capcom said is true Certainly much better than having to wait almost the entire lifetime of the console (MMX on Wii VC didn't come out until March 2012! )
-
That's because it hasn't been. Both of the 3DS' screens have the exact same vertical resolution as what the Mega Drive could output (240p) so it's a perfect 1-1 match.

Box art = Totally badass Leaning towards X at the moment... UK = Not part of Europe confirmed!

Rockstar have never attended E3 AFAIK.

Overall it feels like a great port. The visuals hold up really nicely, with high res textures and some nice motion blur. Looks great, but most importantly it sounds great! The audio upgrades are MASSIVE! There are far more ambient sounds in play, much higher quality sounds/voices, meaty gunshot sounds that actually feel very satisfying (my number 1 pet peeve with the 3DS original in terms of sound), great audio seperation and a quality soundscape. The bass is also just right, nice and thumping, but not too overwhelming. The game has a fantastic soundtrack and the Wii U version truly does it justice! Controls are also fine, aside from the bizzare decision to not have the Genesis scanner controlled ZombiU style (especially confusing when you consider that the original 3DS version had support for gyro controls to begin with!) Also... yes I would kill for RE4 Wii controls. I'm gonna keep at it on Miiverse until they listen! (though I want to be able to use it in conjunction with the Gamepad for inventory management, like how Pikmin 3 uses the Wiimote & Chuck alongside the Gamepad on the stand!)

Gaspen Payne is a brilliant name Oh and yes it is digital only according to Brett Elston of Capcom

Wanna join the N-Europe party this E3? Why wouldn't you?!

Edit: Herp de derp, wrong thread I best keep my nose out of this thread from now on after that... -
That's the ideal scenario and that's what I'm gonna keep asking for on Miiverse. It would cost them nothing extra in terms of development/QA costs (as all the work would've already have been done for the US release) and would make everyone happy (as well as provide Nintendo with a little bit of extra income from the nut jobs who buy both versions for whatever reason )

You have to block again each time he hits you. Press and hold down after each time he hits you (IIRC, he'll attack you 5 times before he gets dizzy - so you need to ensure that Mac has enough stamina to withstand 5 strikes)
-
Ahh bollocks. Super Metroid is the EU 50hz version At least Super G N' G is 60hz I guess. Gonna get that one for sure! (Always wanted a proper handheld rendition of that game! ) When he does the teleport attack, keep blocking. He'll eventually get dizzy (an uppercut at that point will always knock him to the ground )

Arika have been pretty much silent for the last couple of years so it's actually quite possible that we'll see a new Endless Ocean game for Wii U this year! Personally though, I'm hoping that we see some new 3D Classics games from them sometime soonish...
-
Yes please! The Wii game is one of the most underrated multiplayer games ever! Would love a sequel! Speaking of sequels, it's about time we heard about a Kirby game for Wii U or 3DS no? HAL has been really quiet for the last 2 years, having only worked on very small projects like the Kirby Dream Collection and the Wii U web browser (assuming that all of their remaining staff arent all working on Yoshi's Island 3DS, but I doubt it. They're a pretty big studio and can handle working on multiple projects at once)
-
Retro's new game will be Mario Kart Wii U - cue the cries of 100,000 fanboys in unison. Mark my words! Oh and we'll get a Bayonetta 2 trailer right after the SSB4 one... which will end with her walking into a Smash Bros arena as A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES!!!

Probably for security purposes. Hacking save files was a common way of breaking the Wii's security in the early days of Wii homebrew so Nintendo are probably paranoid about it happening again.
