  1. HUZZAH! I finally got my Nintendo Network Premium points for that early Pikmin 3 GAME download code! Check the site if you're waiting on it, it's probably available for you now as well.
  2. Collectors edition that comes with 101 different keychains! Nintendo LOVE their keychains :p
  3. AWW YEAH! It's all about Mega Yanmega and Mega Meganium! Also LOOOOL @ Blaziken getting made EVEN MORE broken!
  4. Having that Swiss Army knife approach is great because it means that you can offer all kinds of experiences. The problem with this approach though is that it discourages specialisation. If you have support for all kinds of controllers in your game, then you cannot design gameplay that can only be done using a certain controller. Something like Nintendo Land couldn't be done with the Pro Controller (ignoring the multiplayer modes in AC Sweet Day, Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghost Mansion - but the simplicity of the controls are clearly made in mind with the Wii Remote even there; adding in Pro Controller support for just those minigames would be confusing for the intended audience) and neither could Skyward Sword, but still you have people complaining about those games not having support for traditional controllers. For a game like Mario Kart 8, or SSB4 or most multiplatform 3rd party titles; yes, they should just support every control scheme the Wii U has to offer. But we should also see games that are designed around just one set of controls as well (or two, in the case of Pikmin 3!). Support for all these controllers is great, but it shouldn't mean that developers have to support everything. If they want to make a game that could only be done with the Wii Remote/Wiimote & Chuck, great! They shouldn't have to water down the game design to fit the lowest common denominator. If they want to make a traditional style game that doesn't really need motion or touch controls or a second screen, then sure; go ahead and support the Pro Controller/Classic Controller as well.
  5. Obviously Iwata forgot to mention that the system update is coming out in Australia before anyone else
  6. See, I'm actually kinda hoping that they don't release a Wii U AC game. It just works better on a handheld and I don't feel the need for a console game. Would rather see them put their resources towards something else... (but no doubt, it's probably already in development anyway)
  7. Luigi's in SSB4!? Well fuck me sideways!
  8. Summer now takes place somewhere inbetween September-start of October. The update was delayed a whiles back.
  9. Phoenix Shibata is bitchin'! Bloody awesome! Surprised that we didn't get more details about SM3DW, DKCTF, Wii Party U and Wii Fit U... Also, why the hell wasn't Darumeshi Sports Shop game shown in the worldwide ND videos!? (Any further details on that? Who developed it?)
  10. Just 39 minutes!? Pfft, this Nintendo Direct has failed. 40 mins or bust Nintendo!
  11. Not exactly the first JPN exclusive I'd pick to localise, but lopping another significant JPN exclusive game off the list is always good news. Though how the hell did this game get a T rating in the US!? As if people need any other reason to buy this game
  12. That Pilotwings stage is too cool! Speaking of which... I wonder if we'll get WuHu island in both versions of SSB, but with modifications in each to reflect the games they've shown in (Wii U = Wii Sports Resort: 3DS = Pilotwings Resort and Mario Kart 7). They could have it take part on different parts of the island in each version, with Miis jumping onto the stage to sword fight and throw frisbees at players on Wii U, while the 3DS one takes place in the sky on a light plane - with other Miis flying around as obsticles, while MK players glide past with their kites and shells being thrown at players!
  13. Good news, though it doesnt affect me since I always pay exact amouts anyway. Hopefully this'll also mean that we start earning 10% cashback on 3DS purchases!
  14. With N64 and GBA VC coming up shortly, it's time for other consoles Nintendo! Time for SEGA Saturn, Dreamcast and Gamecube games to be announced for the VC!!! (Fzero GX, Soul Calibur and Panzer Dragoon Saga on the dump!? YES!!!!) MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
  15. Watch them announce its launch this week, but every game is in 50hz only... :p
  16. Called it! Got the exact week perfect and all! :awesome: Expect Art Academy Sketchpad to get released either tomorrow or on the Thursday update. I also expect N64 & GBA VC details (and a likely first wave release this week) and details on the Autumn Wii U system update. Flipnote 3D getting a US/EU release this week is also possible. I'm sure that they would've been able to get the extra servers in by now (the app itself is already done and ready to go). We'll probably also get release dates for Wind Waker HD, DKTF, Wii Party U, Super Mario 3D World, Wii Fit U, Mario Party 3DS, SMT4, Ace Attorney DD and Layton 6 as well as new details on the 2014 games. The only new 1st party game announced here for Wii U will be Steel Diver 2. Kirby 3DS is a very good possibility though (HAL are the only internal/2nd party developer at Nintendo who haven't been accounted for over the last year, so they're overdue - Intelligent Systems MIGHT have something new to show, but only something small scale; it's still too soon since FEA, PMSS and G&Wario for another big title, especially when they're also co-developing FE x SMT.) Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will get delayed to 2014. I really don't see it hitting this year... It's all in good fun, please understand :p
  17. Yes, we're due a major one this month, as well as a seperate Wonderful 101 ND.
  18. Indeed. Its legs are just insane! GTA is still as strong a brand as ever. Pikmin 3 did alright to stick around at No5, but I'm disappointed to see that it had no noticable effect on Wii U hardware sales
  19. Great to see Wall of Fire finally get an EU release! Not a bad week for VC releases really, even if neither game interests me personally (grumble grumble... Mega Man X still missing... grumble grumble...)
  20. How many of those are 1st party games though?
  21. Because Nintendo games are valued very highly and are sold second hand much less frequently than most other games. The Metroid Primes are a notable exception though. They were crazy cheap second hand in comparison to most other Nintendo games, probably due to how over shipped they were (remember that Metroid Prime was included as a pack-in with the console during the GCN's lifetime). Metroid Other M also suffered the same fate (bad word-of-mouth probably didn't help either).
  22. Yeah, if you like good games it's a must buy. It's one of the very few kart racing games not called "Mario Kart ____" that actually deserves to stand alongside Mario Kart
  23. Cheers! Might have to consider it at some point then (I think I can handle an extra 30g of weight ) In other unrelated news, I just bought a 2TB HDD for Wii U for a hilariously cheap £55! (meanwhile, proprietary storage with other consoles costs... ) Works perfectly. Plug and play, everything is automatic. Love it!
  24. Not sure if I want SEGA getting hold of them. On one hand they've given full creative control to all of their partner/affiliate studios they've worked with, but at the same time they also gutted their US localisation department and cut down on retail releases and localizations of games like Yakuza (mind you though, they're really giving Miku a good solid push in the west, so... maybe they wouldn't gut Atlus USA... at least not immediately...)
  25. How heavy is the new battery? Supposedly the reason why they went for a smaller battery in the first place was to keep the Gamepad's weight down, so I'm interested to see how much heavier this new battery is compared to the original!
