WOOT! FINALLY!!! YEAHH!!!!
-
Suppose it's just as well that I'm working constantly all week until Friday anyway, so it wouldn't matter if I got it early or not :p
-
The hell!? Why not wait until E3 to announce it? Anyway, awesome! But it's not going to work as well on the Wii U as it did on the 3DS though. It really benefited from the S3D...
-
So... Basically, we're getting it last aren't we?
-
The most important thing here I think is that they finally seem to recognise the benefits of having Youtubers promoting their content. Hopefully it's a sign of a newer and more savvy Nintendo in general...

Most underrated Mario ever? Most underrated Mario ever.

Meanwhile, my copy hasn't even shipped yet...

Ironically, it's probably that lack of things to remember that actually spares it from the same ridicule that 2008 got
-
Wow! E3 2007 was far more dreadful than I had remembered! Screw 2008, 2007 was by far their worst showing! Almost nothing new that we hadn't previously heard about was actually announced there! (I think it was the first time we actually saw Wii Fit in action, but that's about it) 2008 by comparison saw the likes of Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music (don't even bother hitting back at me on this one or I'll sick Redshell on you :p ), Rhythm Heaven DS (announced after the actual conference but it was still announced here), Animal Crossing City Folk (disappointing as it was, but still), GTA Chinatown Wars and I think there are a couple of others I'm forgetting as well... 2007 was the true stinker. Yeah yeah we all know that the 2008 conference itself was a dismal failure, but if you compare it to 2007, the event as a whole was actually much better and brought a lot more goods to the table than its predecessor! Speaking of predecessors... 2005 was actually one of their better ones. It always goes forgotten outside of a few choice quotes ("you will say wow"), but it was actually a pretty great show. Lots of new games announced, megatons dropped (Virtual Console - my personal Holy Grail at the time. I was psyched for the Revolution not even for the promised revolutionary controller, but just to be able to get my hands on all the games I missed. That alone was enough to get me hyped for the rest of the year! ). GB Micro was also a real out-of-nowhere surprise too! I also loved how their show was very much "gonzo" focused. Giving such a spotlight to something as niche and innovative as Electroplankton took balls of steel. Their conference that year was just such a contrast to MS and Sony (Which were your typical bombastic events focused at the typical 10-25 male audience with blood, guns and tits galore), I'll never forget it. 2006 was a real killer though, pretty much pitch perfect. Jokes were on point, the right games were demoed and demoed well and they really hammered home the message they wanted with the console (and that famous video of the crowd stampeding though the booths is proof enough of that). My only real complaint, and it is significant enough to hold it back from the same tier as the likes of E3 2004, is the fact that the DS' lineup looked kinda lackluster in comparison to previous years (the only real OMGWTFBBQ announcement for DS there was Elite Beat Agents); hell I was even more excited for the out-of-nowhere GCN games that got announced (yeah of course they all got pushed back to the Wii eventually, but the likes of Super Paper Mario were indeed announced and shown as GCN games first here at E3 2006). Still, probably nothing will ever top E3 2004 though (though 2010 came close). Absolute perfection

Well you could always play as a Reggie Mii in MK8, then let Redshell batter you with his namesake. Two birds, one stone!

Come back down and sit with me Diddy... we need to talk...

Yeah. My thoughts exactly. Why the hell they think that releasing one game a week for the past month or so is fine and then decide to release two high profile VC games in the same week as Mario Kart 8 is beyond me Oh well, works well enough for me at least! (Clearly they were thinking of me and nobody else ) Still... Oh man I don't even know what game to start with alongside MK8 when it comes out on Friday. So many to choose from...
-
IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!! I've been waiting over a decade to play this game! (ok I'd rather have had it on the Wii U VC than the 3DS VC personally, but I'm not gonna complain - besides it has been PEGI rated for ages anyway, so it was kinda obvious that it was planned for release on 3DS first anyway) At last I'll finally get to play Zelda's "sister" game! (And just in time for me to break my duck and start delving into my 3DS/Wii U backlog, oh how wonderfully convenient for me! ) For those of you who don't remember, this is the game that Takamaru's Ninja Castle in Nintendo Land is based off), the one with this awesome music that you'll no doubt have heard from Smash Bros Brawl and other places...
-
Yeah, my friends who have played it already mentioned that. I can already tell that this is going to be a godsend! (Seriously! Even 20x text speed in 999 takes an eternity!) I haven't had anything spoilt for me in regard to VLR's story, but while it supposedly answers many of 999's lingering questions, it also apparently leaves lots of room for that ilustrious Zero Escape 3... I can already tell that it's going to end up being another Shenmue 2, isn't it...
-
9 Persons, 9 Hours, 9 Doors is bloody and bloody brilliant! Can't really say much without spoiling stuff, but it's a brilliant experience and a great story that is only really marred by the tedious process of backtracking through dialogue you've already read to get to the other endings... It's totally worth it though...

Strange that it only happens when CPU players are active. Sounds like a weird bug to me, cause the framerate is supposedly flawless otherwise (as expected :awesome: ) Interesting to hear about how the splitscreen was done this time around. Nintendo Land did the same trick as well in certain games when played in 4-5 players and it felt good there, so here's hoping that it means that 3-4 players in this will feel less jarring to play than it did in MK Wii

I think it's safe to say that this game isn't going to be canon and that Omega Force, Team Ninja and Aonuma probably aren't really concerned about the timeline with this game I like the sound of all of this. It's nice to see that they don't seem to be chaining themselves too closely to either series, but rather seem to be taking elements of both in order to make something new There's also some nice potential for comedy with all of those chest opening animations too :p

Could one of RedShell's favourite franchises be making a return?

Might as well call it Wii Music: Redshell Edition at that point :p -
No Chrom!? I am legit shocked No way will they keep Ike and add Chrom too, they wouldn't pull a Starfox and have 3 similar FE sword wielders (Smash is already very sword user heavy as it is)... They've broken the Fire Emblem protagonist rule! Awesome that they're basing his look on Radiant Dawn this time instead of Path of Radiance But... I'd be lying if I wasn't disappointed to see that we're probably not gonna get a new Fire Emblem character this time around Ike might have been one of my favourite characters in Brawl, but I'm still disappointed to see no new FE representation this time around...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YYYYEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!! LET THE MELTDOWNS COMMENCE! -
Smash Bros makes perfect sense to start off their NFC initiative, considering that these figurines are going to be used in future games (after all, Smash does celebrate the entirety of Nintendo's history, so it marks a starting point for potentially every single Nintendo series). The question here though is how future games might incorporate the stats and stuff carried over from SSB Wii U...
-
So shock
-
That's the last Capcom game that is getting re-rereleased from the Wii VC. From here on out, anything coming from Capcom has never been re-released on the VC from the NES & SNES before
-
Nintendo doing exactly what all of us expected? Cést impossible! Anyway, I expect these figurines to be used in two ways. Firstly you'll have character figurines that will save your custom movesets and stats and then you'll have trophy figurines which will act more or less exactly the same way that the Kid Icarus Uprising AR Cards did... Hope you guys have lots of space for your new toys! (And a wallet big enough to match!)
