  1. Even an hour is going to feel short in comparison to what MS and Sony had to show... There's no getting around it. Even assuming the most positive scenario, it's going to feel short and underwhelming... Which is understandable when you think about it... after all, it's pretty much just Nintendo alone on Wii U and then a few select Japanese games on 3DS and some indies added on for good measure. Of course it's going to be short in comparison to the might of every other major developer out there combined...
  2. 21 FUCKING CAPCOM GAMES!? MOTHER FUCKING DEMON'S CREST!?!?!? HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! My number one most wanted Capcom VC game!?!? TODAY IS A GOOD FUCKING DAY!!!! Also the release of Breath of Fire is particularly notable... (Pay attention @Serebii) because the rights to the original SNES version are actually co owned by Capcom and Square Enix (Squaresoft published it originally), meaning that this will also be Square Enix's first western VC release!
  3. That was a good show all round. True to their word, it was GAMESGAMESGAMES and nothing else. BUT FUCK YOU FOR THAT CONKER TEASE!!! ok, I wouldn't actually want to see a Conker game made by anyone other than Chris Seavor and the original team, but still... FUCK YOU FOR THAT TEASE MICROSOFT!!! Phantom Dust 2 is pretty cool though, I guess...
  4. Anyone else gonna be hanging around in the N-E chat room live while watching this? Reckon that this might actually be the most interesting and exciting conference of the three! MS have their backs to wall, with a safe full of cash and a hunger for catching up to Sony... God only knows what that wallet could buy... Without Chris Seavor or anyone else from the original CBFD team? Crap would be my guess...
  5. Surprising! I thought that they would just not announce anything until tomorrow... hmm...
  6. Looks like a shitty licensed game based off a Saturday morning cartoon... Oh wait...
  7. Well that's kind of what they're doing with the Treehouse Live videos going on all week. They supposedly are going to include new announcements of their own as well... ... Personally I'm betting that they're going to save the surprise localisation annoucements for the Treehouse Live streams. Makes sense when you consider that they're going to be doing live hands on events with them too...
  8. I don't think it'll be an hour long TBH. Not unless they've filled it up with a couple of Mega 64 sketches...
  9. As somebody pointed out in that same thread... The Smash Bros Direct was listed as 30 mins originally and ended up being 39 mins long, so yeah it typically isn't really accurate prior to broadcast. Also for what it's worth, the last E3 direct was around 37 mins long for Japan and 43 mins long for US/EU. So... Yeah BTW, is anyone else here planning on using their Wii U to watch the conferences this year on their big living room TV? Nothing like kicking back and watching the stream on a big TV, sat on a comfy couch with (low quality online streamed & faked) surround sound
  10. TBH I like the item balance in this game really. There's a stronger focus on the pure racing aspect than the luck of the items this time around and I like that (the dreaded useless coin item is also just plain funny. I can't help but laugh when I get something stupid like a coin or a green shell when I'm trying to catch up ) I also don't feel that mushrooms are useless, far from it, but I do feel that the star is nowhere near as useful as it was in most previous games (except for Super Circuit and DS - it wasn't really that great there either). On the other hand, the lightning bolt is much more dreaded in this game because it's the only item that makes other characters drop theirs now The balance is different than the overpowered nature of Wii (or even the subdued nature of MK7), but I like it personally. They serve to enhance the race and give a chance to tip the balance in your favour, but they don't dominate the races like they arguably did in Wii or Double Dash). The item balance is an all important part of what makes each MK game unique after all. It's not something that should be changed in a patch because it completely changes the way the game is designed to play. You take away the existing item balance and it is no longer Mario Kart 8...
  11. Am I the only one who seems to keep getting really crappy items when far behind? There have been loads of times where I'm like 10-7th and I only get a green shell (what the hell am I supposed to do with that!?). I don't know if this game just loves screwing me over personally, but I swear that it's more out to get me than most past MK games... :p As for disconnection issues... I've had a fair few but not really anything out of the ordinary (Considering that it's still near launch and that the game is selling well, it doesn't surprise me that there are a few connection issues now and again). It has been a reletively smooth experience really, with the occasional dropout.
  12. I think it's fair to say that Grass/Dragon may not be the typing that Sceptile needed, but it's certainly the typing that it deserves A crap typing for a crap Pokemon
  13. Mega Sceptile actually doesn't look bad... But it's just completely outclassed by the loltastic Mega Swampert... Just... Brilliant! (Plus swift swim, which is of course, broken )
  14. I can see where you're coming from, but that didn't stop them from making Warioware DIY or the Mario VS DK games (which were all about user generated levels). It's not something they haven't dabbled in before...
  15. Yeah he's right. It's just that Villager's drop shadow happens to look a bit like a trophy stand - likewise, the positioning of the Smash logo happens to make it look like Pikachu is on a trophy stand as well. It's just the standard Smash Bros art though with a Smash Bros logo slapped on for good measure. Nothing special.
  16. Uhh... I think you're thinking of something else... ZREO Twilight Symphony is a fan made production... (and a pretty awesome one at that I might add! )
  17. Who wants a download code for the Welcome (demo) version? First person to quote this post gets the code!
  18. Ok yeah, the kerning is a bit weird but I would just chalk that down to the SNES' limitations. I don't think it was intentional... especially if you look at the JPN box art... This thread sure took a weird turn :p
  19. Wait... we are looking at the same picture aren't we? The title screen of Mario Paint on SNES? That is clearly not joined up. I can't see how anyone could think it is! I'm not going crazy am I?
  20. Huh? They're not joined up in that photograph... Think it's just the blurry image quality throwing you for a loop there... (another usual trademark of a shopped picture BTW - helps to mask shopping flaws) Font is probably slightly off, but it's too close to be a coincidence IMO. See, while it would be cool, I don't really want it to happen any time soon because I'm sick of seeing Mario platform games getting milked in recent years (we've had 4 in the past 2 years, counting NSLU, for goodness sake!) He needs a good long break for the next few years IMO - even something like this feels like too much...
  21. Ahh. Now while I do think it's fake for a whole host of reasons (that @Jonnas helpfully repeated for me ), the font isn't one of them... because... ... It's actually quite a clever throw back to Mario Paint's title screen logo Still fake though :p
  22. My God! The EU and US Miiverse pages of Tomodachi Life... https://miiverse.nintendo.net/titles/14866558073305619804/14866558073305619808 https://miiverse.nintendo.net/titles/14866558073299619769/14866558073299619777 I've never seen a 3DS Miiverse community fill up with pictures so fast!
  23. Nice job @RedShell Everything there sounds about right to me (and those vids really make me wish I had a 3DS capture kit... Or at least some way to upload vids ALA MKTV) Thankfully I've not seen much in the way of repetition just yet, but I plan to play mostly in short bursts so hopefully it won't crop up too much for me. It definately feels more like a toy than a game (in fact, a lot of the dreams play out like the unlockable toys in Warioware Twisted/Touched too!) As long as I don't see too much in the way of repeating dreams/dialogue (although of course I will eventually, there has to be a limit somewhere), I'm gonna love this
  24. Woohoo! A trailer that shows us Nothing! Wheee!!!
  25. That stage looks fantastic visually! But it's kind of hard to get a feel for how it plays without seeing any of the platforms being active...
