I bloody can't wait for that game... Too bad that there's still no release date!
-
Shu Takumi's team (Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick), Ryoto Tsujimoto's team (Monster Hunter), Yoshinori Ono's team (Street Fighter) and Hideaki Itsuno's team (Devil May Cry 3, 4 and Dragon's Dogma). All the other teams that you really care about are more or less gone though.

Nintendo wouldn't buy Capcom because there's no way that they could guarantee that the talent would stick around. That's why they don't generally do M&A (though they are looking into it for their QOL line and have already bought out a foreign company for $150 million supposedly). If they want to see the likes of MH continue to stick around, they would rather work with Capcom on a game by game basis than buy the company outright and take on a heap of debt and massively increase Nintendo's own burn rate. The only time that Nintendo ever do M&A in the VG industry is when the development staff who work for the company in question want to join them (See Monolith Soft or Mobiclip/NERD for example).

Oh derp! I forgot that was already in there, stupid me :p It's unfortunate, given that pretty much all of your muscle memory tells you that character movement is done via the left hand. I can't really think of anything they could do to solve that though... for newcomers, the set-up of having the functionality of the sticks being swapped wouldn't pose a problem though... What would be cool is if they had this handidness swapping done at an OS level; so when you set up your NNID/Mii, you select your handidness as another option and the console automatically swaps the functions of the sticks, d-pad/face buttons, L/R buttons, on-screen touch icons etc of every single game. That way you get a chance to learn the left-handed setup from scratch when you first start playing with the console
-
The reason why they make you hold the Gamepad upside down is because you had to hold the DS upside down originally (in order to put the touch screen on the left and the top screen on the right). The game already has a left handed option built into it, so not accomodating that with the Gamepad set up would make it un-usable. When the full DS VC comes out, what they could do is offer a screen option that straight up swaps the screen positions in book mode games; but it would have the side effect of making each game's built-in left handed mode option completely useless (making it potentially confusing for a lot of people...)

They all look really cool. Shame that we'll almost certainly never get any of them Why hello there Hatoful Boyfriend!
-
That all sounds like total awesomesauce Now how about an actual trailer? (Preferably in English )

Looks like the fans have finally driven him cucco crazy :p Now all we need is the Giant Pig from Wind Waker and we'll have the greatest boss battle of all time

You would be very wrong... The game started development when NSMB Wii shipped, using the existing NSMB Wii engine to prototype new gameplay ideas. It was first shown as "New Super Mario Bros Mii" back at E3 2011 firstly as a Wii U tech demo... Also, not counting debug or localisation staff, 89 people worked on Super Mario Galaxy; while 91 people worked on New Super Mario Bros U; so no, the dev team for a 2D Mario game is not necessarily smaller than the team that works on a 3D game...

The problem with them making sidescrollers is not that they're inherently bad, but rather that having a large focus on them gives the impression that they're not putting their full effort behind their console... Like this quib below... ...which is a complete pile of horseshit. Nintendo spend around 2-3 years developing these "cheap" and "easy to churn out" 2D games and the size of the teams who work on them is just as large as the teams who work on their so-called "grand" 3D games. The problem is that a lot of these people look down upon these 2D games because they've been conditioned to think that they're inferior ever since the PS1/N64 era. It's something that Nintendo have been trying to fight ever since they revived the genre on consoles with the Wii, but inevitably this preconception is going to continue to haunt 2D games (especially given how many low priced "indie" titles just happen to focus on 2D gameplay), so long as every other major 3rd party and console manufacturer continues to value production values over everything else and encourage people to think that 2D games are somehow "inferior" to 3D games. I applaud Nintendo for continuing to make the kinds of games they want to make, regardless of what people might think of them, but it's not a good look for them...

Honestly speaking though... Every single GBA game currently up on the store is a must have (except for Mr Driller 2, which doesn't really offer much new if you have Mr Driller on another console like Drill Spirits on DS or Drill Land on GCN - but it's not a bad rendition if you're a fan of the series anyway...) At some point, you really should own them all!

Considering that he (she?) wears a pair of glasses and spouts devil horns when he/she powers up... You're not far off actually

Just wanted to pop in and gush over how AWESOME Pac-Man Arrangement is! Imagine Pacman, but add dash panels, warp portals, power ups for the ghosts (they can even pair-up Fire Emblem Awakening style!), multilayered levels and the rest of the kitchen sink! It even has a 5th ghost called "Kinky", YES! I am not even making this up!!! It is AMAZING! I feel like such an idiot for not playing it sooner! Pac-man Arrangement is easily worth the price tag alone (in fact I would even have been happy to pay the original retail price for it, the current VC price is so pitifully cheap that I actually feel like I stole it!) Guys! Get it!!!
-
Oh sweet! Much better than having it alongside Smash! Now if only we could get something retail in July/August... (Cough! Devilish Brain Training, Band Bros P, Cough!)
-
Well you did cheat by including TWWHD and X (which fit into that same category), so I'm just playing fair here
-
Yeah, 2014
-
Well if you're counting games that weren't due to be released in the same year that they were announced (since you're including games like Smash and MK8), then you have to also include the games that are due in 2015 and if that's the case, I have to agree with Serebii; this year's E3 lineup is much better. Remember; X, ALBW, Pokemon X&Y and TWW HD were actually announced well before E3, so they weren't actually new announcements back at E3 2013... (Likewise, Yoshi's Wooly World and X aren't new announcements here either, but this is our first major look at them so they're basically the equivalent of ALBW and TWWHD at E3 2013 - and I think it's safe to say that they're a more interesting combo than ALBW and a remaster)
-
I literally just posted about this on Miiverse about an hour ago or so!! "Blue" actually works!!! I can actually say Yellow and it works properly! I swear that they've updated it with the voice recognition libraries used in the later Brain Training games!
-
Easily their best E3 since 2010, but not on that same level for the fact that most of the lineup isn't coming till next year. Still, even this year's lineup is looking good really. It's already looking better than last years' one and there's still time for more to be added on top of that too But really, it can't be stressed enough just how great a show they put on here. The new format was a rousing success all around! A massive improvement from last year, to the point that I don't miss the lack of a live conference at all! (Ok, so the 3rd day of Treehouse Live could've done with less repeat showings of games we'd already seen and more time spent on other indie titles that weren't there, but it was still a great show that went a long way to drumming up interest in these games and helping to highlight and humanise the developers and the people within NOA Treehouse itself!) Here's hoping that they make it a standard for the years to come! Maybe they can bring over more people from NOE next time too! (A live public Q&A with the Treehouse/NOE folks would also be great!)

Awesome! That's a nice unexpected surprise!

For those of you wondering whether or not you get a copy of Bayo 1 along with the digital version of Bayo 2... Worry no more! http://instagram.com/p/pKAve_MY_H/ So you get a free digital copy of Bayo 1 regardless of whether or not you buy the physical or digital copy of Bayo 2. Bit of a shame that you don't get a physical disc of Bayo 1 along with Bayo 2, but it makes sense. You're getting it for free either way, so why bother preparing two versions of the game? Not complaining. Still stonking good value either way!
-
HUGE SUCCEEDED!!! I so hope that they leave that alone in the final English version Of course they won't though
-
This! Just because it's not coming yet, doesn't mean that it won't come eventually. Like with MH3U in Japan, the PS3 version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd came out a while after the original PSP version had launched...
-
Hmm... Why has Reggie got 2 3DS' on him... Edit: Ahh, he's just showing off his Streetpasses...
-
Indeed. Was hoping for some nice surprise eShop releases, at least some surprise Virtual Console releases outside of the two Pacman games.
