  1. Triforce Heroes fits the bill very nicely, but do note that it is three or one player only; there is no 2 player mode. It's the very rare species that is the Three Player Game! World of Goo has a co-op mode on Wii (and presumably Switch) as well. Highly recommended!
  2. Just got it, it's pretty frickin' awesome! It's kinda of a Metroid Zero Mission style remake of the original Blaster Master. Same base level design, with LOTS of changes, additions and tweaks to the point where it's basically a new game. I've only just started, but so far it's a great expansion of the original, refined in all the right ways. For starters, you have a map! Woohoo! The controls are more polished and refined, with a SM/Fusion/MZM style diagonal strafe shot that you can do by holding down the R button. Both the top down and side scrolling sections are smoother to control now. The visuals are kind of like a GBA rendition of the NES original, sticking with the same visual style as the NES original, but with lots of nice added touches and visual effects that couldn't be done on the NES (like transparent water and subtle lighting effects). It also makes really nice use of HD Rumble, surprisingly good! It's used in a subtle way, like how when a boss explodes, you can feel each individual explosion and feel each one increase in intensity as it kabooms, or how you can feel Sophia 3rd's engine revving up in the intro; it's really well done and shows how 2D games can make use of it too! I've not gotten far into it yet, only just started really, but it seems to be a real winner. The original was a great Metroidvania style game and this re-imagining does a great job expanding on the original in every way. If it keeps up the pace, it's definitely a worthy entry into the series (something that no other BM game after the original really managed).
  3. Never mind, false alarm.
  4. I haven't, I already own Metal Slug 3 and Shock Troopers on the Wii VC though. Both are great games that are well worth your time (MS3 in particular is a true classic; if you like Contra/Probotector, you'll love this game!). I'm not really big on traditional fighters so I don't have much to say about the NeoGeo fighters on offer but Waku Waku 7 in particular is held in pretty high regard for what it's worth.
  5. They do support that, you have to set it from the Switch's controller options on the home menu though (there's no in-game option to do so). Should also note that these NeoGeo releases are the MVS versions and not the AES ones, unlike on the Wii VC (which were all AES). So some games are missing features that the home versions had, since they're the arcade cabinet version. For those looking for the best picture quality from them, 100 gives you a perfect x3 scale on the TV, while 133 gives you a perfect 4x scale on TV. On handheld, use 150 for a perfect x3 scale.
  6. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1352672 Not directly related to the VC, but it looks like Capcom managed to secure the rights to re-release their Disney licensed titles for NES! This is probably being handled the same way as the Mega Man Legacy Collection (and probably by the same people, so i expect it to have all the same quirks as that collection), but it should mean that these games (and possibly Capcom's later Disney titles) are now potential candidates for VC releases when he Switch VC launches!
  7. If you had the choice, I'd wait until April 28th when MK8DX and Puyo Puyo Tetris come out. There's already quite a few awesome games available, but that looks to be a good tipping point in general. That being said, the damn thing is sold out everywhere anyway, so you might as well grab one whenever it becomes available :p
  8. I've not played online yet, but I'm pretty sure it can be 8 distinct machines connected online (and local for that matter). I should be online around 21:00 if you guys are!
  9. There's a 99.9% chance that it's a port of Smash Bros for Wii U with a few new characters (Rayman and Ice Climbers being dead certs considering that they were cut originally) and all the 3DS content added in (Switch is also a handheld, so it can properly do justice to stages like Golden Plains and Pacmaze; not to mention Smash Run). Maybe a few extra retro stages thrown in for good measure. Done. Probably will be announced at E3 and released in November.
  10. Well the game's already out in Japan, so that's why they have a demo. The US/EU release is on April 28 (same day as MK8DX), so presumably we'll get a demo then as well.
  11. It's a bit of a double edged sword really. On one hand, review embargos level the playing field to a certain extent, (ideally, but certainly not always!) giving people time to write up a review that is reflective of the entire game experience and disencouraging people from rushing out a poorly written piece that grabs clicks simply by virtue of being first. On the other hand, they are often abused to ensure that a certain portion of the game audience buy blind. Sometimes they're also just silly, like with the European Yo-kai Watch one. What was the point of having an embargo on a game that was released in the US 6 months ago again? I do kind of look at them as a bit of a necessary evil. When used responsibly, they do make for better reviews that are better representitive of the product that your audience is interested in buying. Without them, it would end up being a mess of people powering through games and writing up scrappy garbage based on a small portion of the game (not that this doesn't happen... I'm looking at YOU Arthur Gies and your absolutely disgraceful review of Starfox Zero...) A poorly written review that fails to convey the feeling of actually playing the game is worse than having no review at all in my eyes.

I can understand them charging more for the physical version due to cart costs, but there's no excuse for a lack of price parity with the digital version when SEGA are doing it with Puyo Puyo Tetris. The digital version is the same price as the PS4 version, so that's perfectly fair. Tequilla Works have no excuse to not offer the same courtesy.
  13. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1350842 Oh cool! The Switch actually DOES have an Activity Log built in! It just only starts showing stuff after a week's time playing it. You'll find it on your profile (click your icon in the top corner of the home menu). It only shows playtimes in 5 hour increments right now sadly, but that might change in the future I suppose. The Parental Controls app is still more detailed though, so if you want a detailed breakdown, you can use that (I have it set on, you can actually set it to have no restrictions at all and it'll still track your gameplay time).
  14. Bomberman 64 is a good 'un but it's very different from the rest. While most other Bomberman games are strictly 2D in gameplay and work on a set grid, B64 instead works in 3D space (horizontally and vertically); allowing for free movement and features explosions that are spherical. Like all Bomberman games though, the multiplayer is the meat and potatoes of the game; so if you don't have buddies to play with, I can't really recommend it much. It's a blast in multiplayer though!
  15. Dead pixels are unfortunately a reality of all LCD screen manufacturing. The higher the pixel count though, the more likely you are to have an unlucky dead pixel or two. Thankfully, neither of my Switches have one, but it will just be random whether or not you get unlucky with one and isn't really an issue that will go away with time. The dock doesn't scratch it normally. The problem that those people had came from having damaged docks that were bent out of shape. The desyncing left Joycon is bloody annoying though. It needs a fix ASAP.
  16. If every E3 was like E3 2014, I might agree with you, but that's sadly not the case. Plus you can't deny that something is lacking without that live factor, you don't get quite that same level of excitement and hype from a pre-recorded video that lacks a live audience.
  17. I hear from GAF that NOE's PR will now be released on Thursdays, like how NOA do in the US... That being said, Wii U is getting Bomberman 64 this week in Europe!
  18. I get that sneaking suspicion that they will indeed. The Direct format has fallen by the wayside ever since Iwata's passing and the Switch is primed for success, unlike the Wii U, so they have an incentive to splash the cash for a live presentation; especially since members of the public can actually attend this year's E3.
  19. Supposedly the problem with the dock scratching the screens comes down to people actually having bent docks (quite how they got bent is another matter). Makes sense to me, I've had zero issues with mine and it's something you'd catch immediately in testing. As for the WiFi, mine has been fine. There are a couple of things you have to note here. Firstly, 5ghz signals are, by their nature, shorter in range than the standard 2.4ghz; so if you're using it and you struggle to get a signal, try using 2.4ghz instead. Secondly, the eShop and Nintendo's servers in general are kinda buggered right now; I've had mine connected via a wired connection while docked and I'm still having issues connecting online, so it's not necessarily down to a weak WiFi signal. The left Joycon disconnecting is a serious issue though. I've had that happen a few times to me...
  20. Glad that others are noticing the improved handling. Makes a big difference! I'll be sure to be online at some point soon. Looking forward to playing with you all : peace:
  21. It's obvious that they've blocked save transferring in order to reduce the likelihood of successful hacking; same with blocking off the web browser to users. Wii, Wii U and 3DS were all hacked by exploiting these, so don't expect them to ever come back. I suspect that cloud saves will be how Nintendo end up handling the situation, but that won't come in until the paid service launches.
  22. Finally got a chance to play it, it's great! It's a proper Bomberman game and it feels like the SNES titles! There are a couple of things that do bug me, namely the fact that you can't change the item setup in multiplayer (a staple feature of the series) and the fact that for whatever reason, Bomberman has 8 way movement in this game (which is probably where the complaints of "slippery" controls come from). It's not a game breaker, but you do need to be careful to not get stuck on walls as a result - I have no idea why on earth it's even there; maybe some later stages have open designs that encourage free movement? Dunno. There's a lot of stages and unlockables on offer, the game feels good (30FPS really isn't an issue at all here), looks good and sounds great (all the tunes I've heard so far are new and sound like classic Bomberman tuneskies). The stages are really quite inventive, I love the magnet one and labrynth in particular! Being able to throw bombs on top of blocks is crazy as well! Good stuff all round. Any fans of the bomber will be foolish not to pick this one up!
  23. The new content in Shovel Knight will be coming to the Wii U and 3DS versions for free later on in a couple months time or so. It's an entirely new single player story starring Spectre Knight and features new game mechanics like Plague of Shadows did. FAST RMX is basically to FAST Racing Neo what MK8DX is to MK8. Improved visuals (and the original was already one of the best looking Wii U games!) running at full 1080p 60FPS (60FPS is maintained in 4 player split screen unlike the Wii U version), includes the original 16 tracks, the 8 DLC tracks and includes 8 brand new tracks on top of that for a total of 32 tracks. New cars, tweaked control mechanics and better designed AI. Support for all Switch control setups (including Pro Controller support and motion controls with the Joy-con wheels) and 8 player local wireless (in addition to 4 player split screen and 8 player online). Given that Spectre of Torment is coming to the Wii U version for free to all people who already own it; if you can only choose one, FAST RMX is the obvious choice.
  24. 80k is a good start. But if history tells us anything, it's that the launch weekend numbers don't tell us much about how a console is gonna perform in the long term. The wait till MK8DX is longer than it really should be, given that the console will be getting literally zero new retail releases until then, so it's a big ? when it comes to how long Zelda can keep the console afloat for. MK8DX is gonna be a juggernaut though, it can't be overstated just how important it is that they're gonna have that so early in the console's life, even if it is an enhanced re-release (it might as well be an all new game, given the Wii U's tiny user base). Saw someone else on the train playing a Switch this morning BTW. Brought a smile to my face
  25. Switch FC is now up on the left! Didn't someone say that @Ashley had a publicly available spreadsheet of NE Switch FCs? Can't seem to see it...
