Yeah, the Wii U's UI was really visually cluttered and inconsistent. The worst thing about the OS though was how incredibly convoluted and slow it was to copy, move and delete files though. Oh dear God! It's a nightmare!

Could've been a moderate hit at £24.99-29.99 retail. At £50? Yup, Super Bomb indeed. Way to go Konami!

Looks like a total POS. Interest is at absolute zero.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (May 19)
Dcubed replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well that's a lovely surprise! They actually listened to me! The title "Fire Emblem Echoes" also makes me think that there are more remakes of Japan only FE games to come too -
The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts New Book
Dcubed replied to Ike's topic in General Gaming Discussion
TBH, I'm more interested in the interviews with the art staff than the art itself. I mean, it'll be a nice art collection book I'm sure, but it's the ancillary bits that are the most interesting by far. -
Two wrongs don't make a right...

TBH, practically everyone already has something that plays Netflix/Amazon Prime/Whatever now anyway; hell even TVs have it built-in now! So it's not hard to see why they're not bothering with supporting native video streaming apps

Funnily enough, Japan Display is actually a joint venture between Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi; so you can kinda say that it's a Sony display
-
It wasn't removed, it's still there (they just changed the requirements to get to it in the western version). I still reckon that it'll be based on the Fire Emblem Cipher TCG that they have going in Japan. It's pretty popular over there and it's a natural fit for mobile... Seems like a no-brainer to me.

They did release the POR/RD soundtrack CDs recently, so a re-release doesn't sound far fetched. That being said, I reckon that VC re-releases of those two titles is a more likely proposition than a port (I suppose they could be VC releases on a cart though).
-
That's really weird. First time they've not used a display from Sharp since the GBA I believe. Probably got a hell of a deal on it, given that Japan Display haven't been doing too hot recently. Either way, from what I hear, the display is of fantastic quality (in terms of colour gamut, motion, viewing angle etc), so they clearly made a good choice there

Some things are not meant to be taken too seriously...

That's kind of the point he's making here. They're being really vague about it and he doesn't see why he should give them the benefit of the doubt (and he doesn't like what they've shown so far about it). They really shouldn't be keeping secrets about the console at this point. That's why.

Why the hell is Grey winning!? Why are we allowing boring to win!?!? I want COLOUR!!
-
Well it wouldn't be Wonderboy without some sort of incredibly confusing shenanigans going on

It's not that crazy to think about. Nintendo added local wireless multiplayer for NES & SNES games on 3DS (and online support for a couple of games or so back on the Japanese Wii VC); the online for Switch VC would work exactly the same way. All it's doing is transmitting button presses over TCP/IP, instead of by local wireless; it's an extension of what they did before. That being said, don't expect it to be a flawless experience. With this technique (and it has to be done this way, can't be done by any other method), the lag is gonna hurt. These games aren't designed for online play and any missed packets will just mean that button inputs don't get registered (syncing will be an issue too). Heh, you just can't help yourself
-
It'll probably be the same upgrade discount dealio for VC games as with Wii-Wii U. Don't know why anyone is expecting anything else VC releases do cost money to produce due to the way they're made (and especially since they're adding online play to them this time), they're not gonna go through the not-unsubstantial investment that goes into making them and then give them away for nothing.

Really looking forward to this, although it should be mentioned that Shantae is the one that's the inspired by Wonderboy/Monster World/Monster Boy/Whatever, not the other way around
-
It's good to hear that he finally seems to understand that the likes of EA will never make good motion controlled games; that they just want something that runs their already existing titles without fuss. Miyamoto's comment about Wii U is really sad though. You can tell that he's crushed by what happened with it. Reminds me of that thing in the ACNL update that mentioned how unappreciated the Wii U was
-
Yeah, no discs. Uses 3DS style Game Cards (though even smaller!) that can store up to 32GB-64GB. Loading times are much faster than discs, so no need to install games like on PS4/Xbone. Just plug and play.
-
Yeah, it's a port of the Wii U game with the DLC included as standard; now running in 1080p.
-
I really, really hope there's an option to just play the classic Elimination style from the first 5 MK games. The MK Wii and MK7 timed battle modes just aren't nearly as fun. You just don't get that same tension and those same swear enducing moments that come from getting your last balloon popped by some bastard bomb buggy as their final middle finger to you.
-
Considering that the Wii U has per-user parental controls, I reckon that it'll come in an update before long. Nintendo are hilariously behind on the online/OS features as per usual. There's always gotta be something important that's not there in time for launch
-
Too bad that they're not commercially available currently (and probably cost thousands!). We'll get there within the next 2-3 years though. Edit: For the two of you that care... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1334028 Skyrim Switch is based on the PS4/Xbone Special Edition and NOT the original PS3/360 version [cough]look at this EA[/cough]

Oh, here's some good news! http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1333551 Looks like they're planning on adding USB HDD support to the Switch dock at a later date. It's not gonna be there for launch, but they're apparently looking into it currently. (They also confirm that 2TB SD cards do currently work, even if nobody is gonna have them yet, for those that doubted that they'd work for whatever silly reason) Well I suppose that USB 3.0 socket is there for a reason
