  1. Worms WMD was also announced for Switch! http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1425776
  2. Yeah, pretty sure this is the first time that a Mario game has been published by someone other than Nintendo (outside of the Mario & Sonic series in Japan, which was published by SEGA there). It's so weird!
  3. Way to spoil tomorrow's surprise guys
  4. To play devil's advocate here, it wouldn't be an unsubstantial undertaking and investment in manpower to come up with offline solutions for all of their first party games that incorporated Miiverse (which is most of them), after the fact; especially considering that Wii U is deader than dead at this point. It's not hard to see why they're not doing it. What they should be dinged for is not coming up with forward thinking solutions for when they were developing these games in the first place. They made these games with the knowledge that these online services would not be available forever, so they should've thought about coming up with offline solutions when making the games in the first place. This is also why all online games should be incorporating LAN options too (thankfully they seem to be doing this with Switch at least).
  5. You even have 3DS games like Kirby's Blowout Blast that only just came out a month ago with Miiverse buttons that take you directly to the game's Miiverse community! Talk about cutting it off at the knees!
  6. We all knew it would happen eventually, but it's shocking that it's happening so soon The 3DS isn't even dead yet! I imagine that's probably a very minor reason really, most people won't post gaming stuff on their FB/Twitter pages (that's why Miiverse was made in the first place). No, I'm pretty sure that the real reason boils down to cost savings. Moderating Miiverse posts come with a non unsubstantial manpower cost and these platforms are on their way out (one is already 2 feet under even). They obviously felt that it wasn't worth the cost of keeping it running anymore.
  7. I've finally started playing! Just beat the first three levels and had a big fat stupid grin on my face the whole time (literally couldn't stop smiling ) What a pure joy this game is! I waited 23 years for this and it absolutely hits the nail on the head! This is absolutely the SEGA Saturn Sonic we never got! It's so on point it hurts! And for those saying it does nothing new? What a bunch of bull! Even the remixed classic stages are loaded with fresh ideas, new never-before-seen gimmicks and gameplay we've never seen before in a Sonic game! (like the chemical mixing in Chemical Plant Zone and the ziplines in Green Hill) My biggest fear was that the old stages would just feel like re-treads, but that's absolutely not the case here! There's tons of new ideas that spice up and re-invent the classic stages, especially in Chemical Plant Zone (Oh and BTW, they were right. The end stage boss absolutely lives up to the hype! ) Speaking of which, I can't believe that every stage has a boss! Even Act 1! And the bosses themselves are absolutely outstanding! Some of the very best in the series for sure! The visuals are a perfect representation of what a Saturn Sonic game would've been like, right down to the low poly/low res 3D parts! I love it! And the new special stage is great! Right up there with blue spheres and the Sonic 2 ring tunnel! Oh, did I mention that the soundtrack is amazing? 'Cause it is! I've never been a fan of the Sonic CD soundtrack (US or JPN), but this takes all the good bits about it and uses it to craft something that sounds so perfectly 90s pop, yet perfectly Sonic. This is going on my iPhone soundtrack list for sure! The sheer love overflowing from this game just brings joy to my heart! I can't do justice to how happy it makes me to finally see it come to life! It's something very very special to any fan of the blue-blur's TRUE classics! A true successor to S3&K and Starfox SNES in the same year!? Pinch me I must be dreaming! Completely agreed. It's worthy of the hype and then some! I came in with sky high expectations and it has still blown me away! And it absolutely does bring plenty of new ideas to the table, fitting perfectly alongside the MD classics!
  8. Yeah, it's been a good show overall. Was hoping for a bit more in terms of surprises (and eShop sales) but it's been good overall
  9. Wow! They really beat SOM with the ugly stick! Still, it might mean that we'll finally get a version of this game that isn't riddled with more bugs than an ant hill; so for that reason alone, I'm interested
  10. Profound sadness
  11. I took the capture. Finally got my capture set up back up and running again just this week! I use an Elgato HD60. Just used it to nab the clip from MKTV and then used Adobe Premiere to make the gif. Fun night BTW!
  12. FINALLY!!! It's about 20 years late, but at least it's finally happening!
  13. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow just went on sale for no discernible reason. £5.45 for MyNintendo members.
  14. Ahh, looks like you're right. Sorry, was thinking of Splatoon 2, not ARMS
  15. NOE boasting that 60hz loud and proud makes me very happy! How far we've come!
  16. Yup. She comes out today!
  17. Ha ha! This Capcom mispelling has to be intentional, surely!? Anyway, interface looks much the same as the NES Mini, as expected, but the new rewind feature looks nice. I can do without the different borders though, just plain black will do me fine.
  18. I think people are expecting too much from Shenmue 3 really. The budget simply isn't going to stretch far enough to make the game they want. The originals were two of the most expensive games ever made, prior to Gen 7, while this is a Kickstarter game. Temper your expectations accordingly. For what it is, I think it actually looks pretty damn good! Captures the look and feel of the Dreamcast originals quite well I reckon (right down to the somewhat robotic camera movement).
  19. Sweet. Should make buying from foreign stores much easier
  20. Well bloody hell, some actual Switch support from a 3rd party publisher! I suppose it probably counts as an indie game though (despite being a Square-Enix property), so it still doesn't really count as major support Still, it's nice to see
  21. Makes sense considering that they worked on both of those games, I wouldn't be surprised to see the actual game to re-use much of their work on BOTW either. The concept art looks like kind of like a mix of BOTW and Amano's concept art for the older Final Fantasies. Me likey
  22. Looks gorgeous! I'm always up for a good action RPG and I'll pretty much buy anything from Monolith Soft at this point! Wonder if they'll end up working with Platinum Games on this one? Seems like a no-brainer if they're working on an action game (especially given Nintendo's working relationship with them) and they did a fantastic job with Nier Automata!
  23. Only just got the game a few days ago. Looking forward to jumping in with it when I get time Glad to hear you enjoyed it @Hero-of-Time
  24. Could be. We're probably due a new ND soon... That being said, we already know what the next 5 upcoming NeoGeo games are. To quote myself from an earlier post in the thread where Hamster announced the next batch...
