General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Apparently it's doing really badly on Steam as well in comparison to its contemporaries... Make of that what you will... Yeah, it sucks that we don't get a full picture of what's going on, but physical is still where the majority of sales happen; especially here in the UK where digital is often substantially more expensive than physical. -
Good result for Pokken, horrible result for MvsCI! (even USF2 charted higher in its first week in the UK!). Man, I feel bad for Capcom right now... Pokken is good stuff guys! Seriously! Give it a look in if you're itching for a fun and pretty unique fighter! (just don't expect much in the way of single player content).

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's all physical. We don't get digital sales generally, except in special cases where publishers choose to release them (Nintendo tend to give some limited information for their US sales for instance) or where there's a limited edition release of a download code (like with Pokemon Gold/Silver VC here this week). In Japan, Famitsu also track sales of download codes in physical stores (you can roughly guess their sales by contrasting them with Media Create), but that's it. Otherwise we know nothing. -

https://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110032 Wow... Marvel vs Capcom Infinite super bombed! Landing at No 16 on PS4 (Xbone version is completely absent from the charts), handidly outsold by Pokken DX (at No 5) and even the download codes for Pokemon Gold and Silver! (especially embarrassing considering that the download codes in a box were a limited edition release and the grand, grand majority of its sales were done via direct eShop downloads - triply embarrassing for that to happen in the UK, one of Nintendo's weakest markets even!). Even Ultra Street Fighter 2 on Switch debuted higher than this! (No 10). USF2 wasn't supposed to outsell MvsCI!! Capcom have to be sweating profusely right now. They're basically betting the farm on Monster Hunter World now... -
Poor little thing. I've had cats as a kid that got run over before. I know the feeling @Serebii

Uber loses its license to operate in London
Dcubed replied to Happenstance's topic in General Chit Chat
Hail-O's time to shine! Surely this is just gonna end up being a game of whack-a-mole? You knock down Uber, someone comes to take their place -
I thought it struck a nice balance between Nu-Trek and classic Trek myself. Definitely reckon it has potential. With this series being focused on the Klingon War, I'd expect it to be very action heavy.

I remember having this one VHS about Super Mario All Stars, with Craig Charles presenting it. Used to watch it over and over as a kid! Then when I got into Red Dwarf, I was like,"Oh! That's the guy from the SNES video! OMG!" (no doubt he would've killed my younger self for using that frame of reference for him )

I'd actually like to see the next Pokemon go for an aesthetic similar to the 3DS Ace Attorney games, or Guilty Gear Xrd. The 3DS Pokemon games' visuals attempted to simulate the look of 2D sprites in 3D (lack of texture filtering and all), so it's not a far fetched request either! Imagine a Pokemon game with visuals like this... (bear in mind that this was done on the 3DS even!) Or this... (Done on PS3) Switch is much more capable than either of the machines that powered these games. I don't think it's impossible for Game Freak to shoot for something like this (with some outside help). They could probably do it with just tweaks to the current models as well; they'd need to change the way they render and animate them of course, but the models themselves should be largely reusable I reckon. It would look amazing and could capture the look of the artwork/anime perfectly! It did get Charizard right... He should always have pecs. ALWAYS! (it's too funny to not have!)

There's simply too much for me to keep up with! At the rate I'm going, I think that Mario + Rabbids, Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia, Ever Oasis, Steamworld Dig 2, Golf Story, Xenoblade 2 and maybe even Mario Odyssey (it's looking to be a pretty long game and Pokemon US/UM will suck up a huge chunk of that November time; especially since I skipped S/M...) will end up getting pushed to 2018 for me.
-
Shouldn't this topic be stickied by this point @Ashley? Anyway, I'm here for a reason! Zerodiv's next Psikyo releases will be Zero Gunner 2, followed by a game from the Sengoku series. Following this, two more titles (one from the Gunbird series and one from the Strikers 1945 series) are supposed to be coming within the year; with more releases being considered too! Awesome! More arcade goodness! Woo!

Wow! Not even DLC can save this game's character roster from total disaster it seems! (So much for Lyn and Celica being harbingers of salvation...) Honestly, it's amazing how badly they've screwed up here. Even amongst the Awakening cast, they've picked the most boring choices imaginable (no Kellum, no Tharja, no Virion, no good!). Who's the idiot who decided not to include the single most popular character in the series? (Ike - A character so popular in the character poll, he actually took up two slots in the top 5 all by himself!) Not even Tharja!? (Watch them save her for DLC) How tone deaf can you be!? Watching the character roster get revealed over time has been like watching a slow motion car crash and I'm hardly enamoured by the prospect of shelling out for a season pass when you have already gone out of your way to actively avoid all of the characters I'm actually interested in.

Oh snap! That's a fantastic idea! I never thought to use the Amiibos to emulate the transfer pak! That would actually be a lot easier to pull off than live wireless communication emulation of the transfer pak itself! (And it would finally give the damn Pokemon Amiibos a worthwhile use!)
-
Oh yeah, I forgot that you have to unlock it. I only found out because I read the manual (like, seriously, who does that!?) Defo need to try it though! I'm mad curious now! Edit: Sadly it doesn't work. Oh well.
-
I wasn't expecting it to work at all! Now I'm even more annoyed that SMB DX has no support for IR communications on 3DS... I haven't tried it because I'm out at work you dummy! I'm gonna try it when I get home! (Unless you and @Ugh first aid beat me to it...)
-
Oh wow! Mystery Gift actually still works! They emulated it using the 3DS' IR port! Awesome! I wonder if it actually works with a real copy and a GBC... (or a Pocket Pikachu for that matter...)
-
That's a damn shame. It looks really far along and all. But yeah, it probably wasn't picked up by Nintendo because they were already working on Wii Sports Resort/Pilotwings Resort at the time. So sad, looks like it would've been a great game Same problem Namco had with their own snowboarding game on Wii...
-
Well we got Bomberman Hero on Wii and Bomberman 64 on Wii U, so it's the only one left and far from impossible! I really doubt we'd get two Bomberman games though and I reckon that the first Bomberman 64 is a much more likely choice out of the two. Snowboard Kids 1 or 2 would be amazing, but I can't see it making the cut. This lineup is likely to be very first party heavy and the 3rd party games I've mentioned have already been released on the VC, making them much more likely choices
-
The F-Zero X Expansion Kit is probably the closest thing they'd have to Starfox 2 on the N64, so that would be my No 1 request. Next up would be the Rare games, but that will almost certainly never happen sadly. Otherwise I'd just expect a straight up retread of some of their N64 Wii U VC lineup, with the possible additions of Pilotwings 64, Ocarina of Time Master Quest, Mario Party 1 or 3 and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack. Can't see anything else realistically making the cut sadly. Best case realistic scenario would probably be the following... 17 games, 12 of them multiplayer (9 of them 4 players). F-Zero X Expansion Kit is the long-shot of the lot and would be the equivalent of Starfox 2's megaton bomb addition. Comes with 4 N64 replica controllers. £99.99/€129.99

Naturally Starfox 2 is the big kahuna for me, but I'm really looking forward to playing Yoshi's Island and Starfox again. Haven't played either in over a decade! (Yep, been waiting ever since the Wii VC started for them to get re-released digitally before I play them again! It's not quite the form I wanted, but it's close enough!) Otherwise, I think I'll take the opportunity as an excuse to power through Super Ghouls N' Ghosts again. Love that game! Absolute action masterpiece! (It was also the first game that the co-founder of Platinum Games ever worked on BTW. It shows!) And I'll be playing Secret of Mana with @Glen-i and @Ugh first aidno doubt; but I need to sort out my US Wii VC stuff ever since my system got damaged (need to transfer it to a US Wii U). I want to play it in 3 Player, the way it was intended. 2 player only just doesnt cut it! (And nor does the PAL 50hz version, not good enough!). Let's just hope that the save file doesn't get kersplatted along the way! I'll also take the opportunity to power through Contra 3 in co-op. Anything to get Glen-i to play it already! Otherwise, I do actually already own the rest on the Wii U VC, so I'd rather play them there TBH, but I have a friend who has never properly played ANY of the games on the SNES Mini (outside of Yoshi's Island - GBA version only mind you). Can't wait to see him play through these games for the first time!
-
I think the GBA games were the first to allow it, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
-
Surprised they're still bothering with this game TBH. It ain't gonna make a dent in the market until it goes F2P unfortunately and this update/sale will do nothing to change that sadly.
-
That's why it took me so long to get it out But yeah, it's brill!
-
It's a bit late I admit, but my review of Monster Hunter Stories is now up on the main site! http://www.n-europe.com/reviews/monster-hunter-stories Yeah, it's my favourite RPG on the 3DS now, fight me!

Resident Evil Revelations 1+2 Coming To Switch
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well that's an interesting use of the IR Camera! (only the second game on Switch to actually use it! After 1,2,Switch). They could've just done it with an up/down shake like in RE4 Wii I suppose, but that does look pretty cool. The same guy also seems to like the gyro aiming (so I guess it does work like in RE4 Wii after all!). Also it seems to have some sort of Amiibo support.
