  1. August is a pretty weird month to release games in in general, not much that gets released in that month tends to do all that well; which is why most publishers tend to wait until September… Not sure that’s the best choice of date, but we’ll see.
  2. It's definitely better now than it was earlier, it was torture before! Hopefully the site stays in a good mood now...
  3. Yeah, it's proper mollasses right now. That spanner is thoroughly jammed into the forum's gears
  4. Holy Necrobump Batman! Don't panic though, I have a reason for the bump... because I just got my hands on some cool shit... Oooooooooooooooohhhhhh! What does THIS USB-C port dooo... I got my hands on another 3DS... but this isn't just any old new 3DSxl, oh no... Because THIS little thing happens to have a Loopy Capture Card built in! Yes! I can now capture 3DS footage and output it to a Windows PC display! Using my laptop, I can now play 3DS games on my telly! And combined with some fancy homebrew software, I can even use a controller (or if I want to get SUPER fancy... I can even use a Wii U Gamepad to display the touch screen, complete with touch screen controls!), wicked! But why stop there? There's one key ingredient missing in this Awesome Sandwich... and it's the 3DS' namesake... But wait! If you recall anything about what I've been wasting your time with reading on these forumholes, you'll know that I have a fancy schmancy Spatiallabs Autostereoscopic 4k 3D display! But unfortunately, these capture cards only support 2D, so there's no way I cou... The 3DS XXXXXXXXXL! After liaising with the maker of the capture card over the last couple of months, the capture card and its associated Windows software now has full support for Stereoscopic SBS 3D! And it KICKS ARSE!!! The 3DS has finally reached its final form. This is so freaking awesome! Those chunky 3DS 3D pixels have never looked so 3D!
  5. Probably. Nintendo usually host their E3 Directs in the second week of June, and they’ve already announced that the next ND is coming this month, so I’d bet on either this Wednesday or Thursday.
  6. Solid show. No major surprises (Well, apart from doing Gears of War 0 instead of Gears 6 I suppose), but everything they showed looks really promising (yes, even Perfect Dark). RIP Xbox Bin though But World Premiere Guy is alive again, so it all evens out
  7. So... they've turned Perfect Dark into Mirror's Edge? Well it can't be any worse than PD Zero I suppose! Edit: Deets! https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/06/09/perfect-dark-details-interview-xbox-games-showcase-2024/ So it's essentially a Thief-esc immersive sim with Mirror's Edge style parkour mechanics. Well it ain't Perfect Dark, but it looks promising regardless.
  8. This is literally We Have Donkey Kong Country Returns At Home, just with a couple of Crash knockoff bonus levels thrown in for good measure. I'm always up for a quality platformer though and, butt ugly character designs aside, this looks pretty promising. Will be keeping an eye on this one
  9. From what I gather from the various previews I’ve read, that’s exactly what they’re going for as this game’s big gimmick. Which does sound really cool. I hope we get a Puppeteer stage at some point, that game was rad and I’d love to see the scissor mechanic make a return!
  10. They’re sort of remix games that take bosses/weapons/items/themes from their NES counterparts, but have unique levels of their own. They weren’t made by Capcom, but they’re neat curios that offer an alternative take on the NES series; essentially they’re official fan games. Don’t go in expecting anything approaching the quality of Capcom’s own NES titles, but they’re worth taking a look at at least.
  11. Had never heard of Freak Boy before, sounds interesting. The concept reminds me of Balan Wonderworld, but it sounds like they had grander ambitions than what BW turned out to be. The N64 is a massive goldmine of cancelled projects (certainly the one with the most cancelled 1st Party Nintendo games that we know about).
  12. Copy my homework, but don’t make it too obvious… Looks promising, but Digital Eclipse’s track record is kinda spotty; so we’ll have to just wait and see.
  13. Oh and here’s two new character trailers that were also released today… Also, I know this was already changed in KOF15, but I’m very sad that Marco Rodriguez is no longer called Khushnood Butt in the English versions of these games anymore
  14. Was a bit weirded out that we didn’t have a thread for this one, but considering that we just got our first proper trailer today? This one’s for you @S.C.G
  15. Woah! Had no idea that the rumoured game was actually based on Sony’s HZD; “Horizon” is such a generic title that I thought it was just gonna be an unlicensed Lego title (ALA Lego City Undercover). Pretty wild that it’s coming to Switch in that case! Hey! That means that Aloy is now eligible for inclusion in the next Smash Bros too, since she’s now been in a game released for a Nintendo console
  16. Well that’s a new one… Had no idea that the first Pokemon Stadium features no sort of tiebreaker, I know the second one does (featuring a Quiz-Off); so that really threw me for a loop! Always nice when you’re still learning something new about a 25 year old game!
  17. Another thing that factors into these games coming to NSO instead of being a seperate collection is that the GB MM games aren't really that great... would be a tough sell as a standalone collection, when they could much more easily just make some free money by letting Nintendo do the legwork for them. They've also previously been re-released via the 3DS' VC service before, so there's already some prescedent there.
  18. No way… … the OG is back! Will be a 70 minute feature film broadcast on BBC and on Netflix.
  19. I was left terribly disappointed by the original YL, but Impossible Lair was super solid, so I’m willing to give Playtonic the benefit of the doubt here. The original version of YL felt like a very unfinished prototype, but the potential is there for a remake to really bring out something special. It would need a LOT of work to flesh out the meat on its bones to make it into the true BK/BT successor we all want though, and I’m not sure if it can even really be done without a AAA budget and team size, but I commend Playtonic for giving it a proper try here after the middling reception YL received originally. Really hope they nail it this time; and if they do? I’ll be well haps. I really want this to be good, YL desperately needs a good remake!
  20. I both hate and love that name in equal measure
  21. Worth pointing out that the SEGA Saturn version of Puzzle Bobble 3 is available on Switch. Also fucking hell, that box art is ultra ugly! Did the artists draw Bub and Bob with their left hand or something!? How did they screw up their proportions so much!?
  22. Just found out that this year’s SGDQ is gonna feature a Balatro run! (3 decks, random seed, skipless). https://gamesdonequick.com/marathons/clut3zj5r0002xc01yi4t61gf This’ gonna be sick yo
  23. Well that’s random as hell, but much appreciated!
  24. Another FPGA GBC clone is on the way... from Trump Campaigner Palmer Luckey of all people... https://www.timeextension.com/news/2024/06/chromatic-is-a-fpga-based-game-boy-from-palmer-luckey That being said though, what's interesting here is not the hardware itself, but that his company seems to be comissioning brand new GBC releases, including an all new, officially licensed version of Tetris! Looks like we may be seeing a surgence of new GBC games released for Nintendo's old workhorse coming in the next couple of years
