Yeah, from what I’ve heard, the PS3 webstore is gone now. Only way to purchase games is directly on the console itself; which is a... less than pleasant experience!
-
I don’t have any sort of webstore link (don’t think that the webstore is even working for PS3/PSP anymore), but there’s a handy set of lists of PS1/PS2 PSN releases on Wikipedia that have proven accurate in my experience... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_PS_one_Classics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_Classics_for_PlayStation_3 You can handily look at each region’s list of games on there too

Really sad to see. It was always inevitable, but still really sad. Take the opportunity to stock up on those PS1/PS2 classics now while you still can! They represent some of the best bargains you can get in gaming today... You see this game? It's just $5.99 on the PS3 PSN store, but costs almost $1,000 on eBay! Don't forget that you can access the US & JPN stores on a UK console! You can get your hands on stuff like Chrono Cross, Einhainder and Thunderforce 5 for a mere fraction of their regular 2nd hand prices!

Wow!! That's insane!! Sony can't bring their own first party games to PSNow Day 1, but they can bring it to Xbox Game Pass!? That's hilarious Meanwhile, Playstation owners have to cough up $70 for this game! I'm sure that MLB were the ones to make the deal, without Sony's need for approval, but wow! Talk about absolutely humiliating Playstation here!

That is exactly how it works.

It feels weird seeing people include Metroid games within the "Metroidvania" category... Metroid isn't a Metroidvania. It's just a Metroid!

Platinum's April Fools joke from last year is no longer a joke! Awesome! I bet they'd make a great shmup! Sounds like they'll be making more retro arcade style games going forward too! Double Awesome!

Worth pointing out that Switch games generally have better legs than PS4/Xbone games; so it’s very possible that it could still outsell MHW when all is said & done. One thing’s for sure though, Capcom vastly undershipped this game; especially in Japan. They could’ve easily have done 2.5-3 million in Japan for its opening weekend if the stock was there.

Yeah, I've only just got the Lagombi set, but even something as basic as that already has some nice skills (and I've already got Affinity +30%!). Game is really, really easy so far. Do hope that the later Hub quests/Event quests put up a good fight... or else it's gonna be a LOOOOOOOONNNNGGGG wait for G-rank...

Wow! It even shows you carve/cap percentages in-game now!? Poor Kiranico...

Just got to 3star Village quests and I’m still absolutely loving it! Don’t miss the stupidly huge maps from MHW one bit; the maps here feel absolutely perfect to me! No wasted space, no wasted time; and the exploration is actually meaningful thanks to the Endemic Life system and the Relic Records (which give some neat backstory & lore about each hunting area). Really is the best of both worlds! (Though I do have to admit that I do kind of miss the comedy that comes from being repeatedly knocked over the loading line again and again ). But I do get the feeling that this game is gonna steer towards being too easy... which is surprising since I found that the demo monsters did put up a good fight! Me thinks that I’m gonna need that G-rank sauce sooner rather than later!

So the ads are as shit as the game itself? Can’t really argue that the advertising is dishonest!

Welcome home, Bear & Bird!

Insect Glaive is amazing in this game. That is all

DLSS is very big advantage in Nintendo’s favour here; and it’s very possible for Nintendo to release a hybrid console/handheld version of Switch this year that can outperform PS4 Pro & XboneX... ... but of course, Nintendo have to want that... which is ultimately the biggest factor in play here. The tech is there, but Nintendo need to want it and be willing to pay for it. And that’s definitely not something I’d be so gung-ho about betting money on...

So my Astro City Mini is here! An arcade machine for ants I really like it so far! The build quality is very good! It uses proper arcade Sanwa parts and the sticks/buttons feel premium quality; with those lovely micro switches that give the satisfying “click” that a proper Arcade stick should. I haven’t tried out my Mayflash adapter on it yet, but I’m happy to report that the Japanese 6 button Mega Drive Mini controller works flawlessly on it (the Mode button acts as the Insert Coin button; so every button is indeed accounted for!). The screen on the unit is of decent quality, though certainly nothing that’s gonna make your Switch blush. It’s kinda similar to the 3DS’ screen in terms of overall quality (though features twice the vertical resolution of the 3DS’ top screen) and while colour representation isn’t the best? It definitely gets the job done and looks way better than the NeoGeo Mini screen for instance. Do wish that this thing had a built-in battery, but thankfully it’s able to run off an external battery via its micro USB port (not USB-C sadly). Have had no trouble using the same external battery I use with my phone, making it a truly portable system when unteathered from the TV The emulation quality is generally very good from what I’ve tested of it so far. It’s not quite the same quality as you’d expect from M2, but it’s really very good and pretty comparable to the Mega Drive Mini (which, considering the various different machines being emulated here instead of the one? is a very impressive feat!). You might spot some small issues here and there (the most obvious one being the slowdown during Virtua Fighter’s end of match replays and its skybox occasionally flickering) but overall I have very little to complain about so far; and the value on offer here (With the RRP being around £120; you’re getting each game for around £3.25, generally emulated very well, WITH a mini arcade machine to play them on) is just absolutely ridiculous! The quality is way, WAY ahead of most previous SEGA mini consoles & el-cheapo compilations, and while it’s not quite M2? I reckon that most people will be very happy with the overall emulation quality on this thing. In terms of emulation? If I have any complaint to make? It’s with the lack of options available for each game (you’re locked to the Japanese ROMs and you cannot change the dip switch settings) and the lack of video scaling options (you get full screen 4:3 and that’s it, no true integer scaling and no interpolation). Generally most games look good on both the TV and the small screen, but games that play in Tate mode do look kinda rough... with shimmering all over the place and there’s nothing you can do to fix it; thankfully the grand majority of games look good and shimmering generally appears to be minimal, particularly with the System 16 & System 32 games (AKA, the most important ones). Sound is also well represented and the speakers on the unit itself are pretty nice & punchy; which I wasn’t expecting! The sound emulation is generally pretty decent, but it’s not perfect. Those with a keen ear will probably spot some minor inaccuracies here and there; but overall I’d say that the sound emulation is generally good quality all around (which in of itself is very impressive given the large bevvy of games across multiple systems being represented here!); really can’t complain for the price! The overall emulation quality is definitely comparable to the Mega Drive Mini overall, if not quite on the same level, and the menu is a bit basic (with some pretty hilarious Engrish in the game descriptions), but overall I’m very happy with this little thing!

Here's some more videos coming out now... Well this all looks really nice! Looks like they're doing everything right with this sequel! Really glad to see that environmental interactivity & branching paths are still a big focus Like the idea of different Pokemon appearing during day/night and with the Pokemon encounters changing/developing as the game goes on too

Really sucks that Capcom are releasing the game in a blatantly unfinished state... no doubt due to an immovable deadline (gotta get it out before the end of the fiscal year!) and COVID related delays. But as far as long-term preservation with the physical version goes? Well, that’ll come when Capcom releases the inevitable Ultimate version with G-rank in place. Even if it gets made available as DLC for those that own the base version? Capcom will inevitably put out an upgraded physical version as well; much like they did with Iceborne.

I think that, more importantly than faster internal flash memory, the next Switch needs SDUC & SDXC UHS3 support. The current Switch can’t take full advantage of the read speeds that SD Cards are really capable of because it is limited to UHS1. SDUC probably won’t happen until 2023 (when I would expect a true Switch successor), since SDUC cards aren’t even commercially available yet. But if they are indeed planning on a Switch Pro this year? SDXC UHS3 support really is an absolute must. That alone would speed up read speeds by x4 over the current Switch model! As for SDUC? That would literally put it on par with Xbox Series X; so that’s really something I wouldn’t expect until the next generation.

Well yeah, it’s basically everything we all wanted. It’s classic MH with all the good bits from MHW added & none of the shit parts; and a legitimate step forward in gameplay, with the proper wireless local multiplayer that the series is known for. It’s basically impossible for it to not be amazing!

That’s the Left Joycon only. Looks like you’d use it alongside the existing Right Joycon... So it seems that Nintendo’s solution to the broken/too small/too tightly packed analog stick problem might be to go back to the 3DS style Circle Pad (I’d imagine that the solution to the clickable stick feature will be something very similar to the iPhone 8’s “home button” placed underneath or on top of the Circle Pad - which should work just fine I reckon)... I’d be very ok with this! Let’s hope they fix the wonky wireless connectivity with the next Switch model while they’re at it!
-
Oh? https://uspto.report/patent/grant/D912,153 Is this the new Joycon for the Switch 2/Pro? Circle Pads & D-pads making a comeback!? Is this the end of Joycon Drift at long last!?!?

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & The Blade of Light (4th December 2020)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That’s fine, Est sucks anyway Yeah, Starsphere is rad as hell. I actually regretted using it to make Starlight! (Yeah... sadly it gets used up). Oh, and I did the same thing with that thief on my playthrough. Wasn’t expecting the Devil Sword to actually hit me! Thankfully the rest of the thieves weren’t so gung-ho as to finish me off! -
Looks like it’s gonna be the first in a line of new AR titles for Mobile from Niantic/Nintendo. Pre-registration is live here

Funnily enough, this announcement just pushed me over the edge to buy the Japanese version just now (There was a UK based seller on eBay selling the unit for about £145; which nicely saves me a ton in shipping/import costs I'd otherwise have to pay!) Also helps a lot that the Mayflash USB adapter now works on it; meaning that I can use my existing arcade stick on this thing now (No way am I paying the outrageous price for the Astro City specific one!). Also works with the Japanese Mega Drive Mini 6 button controller too, so that's my controller needs covered Can't really argue with getting 37 SEGA arcade games for about £4 a pop (plus a mini arcade unit to play them on!); plus... you know, Revenge of Death Adder at home!! At last!
