Yeah, Red Alert 2 is probably my favourite game of all time! It was ace.. I've noticed that the later C&C games starting from Yuri's Revenge are fixed and you have to complete certain levels a certain way, which is annoying. In Yuri's Revenge, I spent hours building up an army to destroy a base rather than take it over, which I was supposed to do...I had hundreds of troops and the enemy had about 4 tanks...I went to attack their base and 100's of vehicles exploded out of the war factory in around 5 seconds. They produced so many vehicles in those 5 seconds that they were overlapping eachother and filled the entire screen...all from 1 war factory. A similar thing happened in another level! Whats the point in playing a game that is fixed.

There are hopes of another delivery from Nintendo before Christmas, so those who havent got one confirmed yet still might get one before Christmas.

It seems like Gameplay have managed to fulfil almost all pre-orders for the Wii, there are just a few unfortunate souls who ordered a bit too late.

If it's just DVD's you're having problems with, have you tried re-installing a DVD decoder? You can easily download one off limewire.

"I personaly pre-orderd from them and im slightly pissed off that they just dont want to say how many there getting... when shops like Argos, Woolworths, Game and even Amazon know how many they will be getting." Hopefully we'll know any day now. I'll ask about it later on, just to see what is going on. At least we dont get PS3 pre-order questions anymore.

"Isn't he just a corporate suit ? and not real games person like myamoto? Or have i got him wrong?" HAL Laboratory, Incorporated In 1982, after succeeding at college, Iwata was recruited by HAL Laboratory, Inc. for a full-time position. He became the company's coordinator of software production in 1983. Some of the video games he helped create while he worked there were Balloon Fight, EarthBound, and the Kirby games. Iwata was eventually promoted to president of HAL in 1993. Nevertheless, he and his branch sometimes aided in the creation of Nintendo video games, himself on a freelance basis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoru_Iwata

"Yeah one thing I learned while building my first PC is you want to get the newest technology not necessary the best but the newest chipsets and stuff." Yeah, If I could, I would have gone for a more powerful AMD processor and an SLI motherboard. At least the motherboard is AM2 and I will be able to update the graphics card/processor if I ever need to. I was originally going to miss out the graphics card and just have integrated graphics on a smaller motherboard. I was also going to go with just an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ instead of the 3500+ Ramar, I hope that you dont jinx it now! First you have power problems and then overheating? Ouch. I'll have to take apart my old PC to understand what I am doing.

Hey Guys! I decided to buy a new PC a couple of days ago as the PSU is going on mine and it is ancient! I've never constructed a PC before, but I have settled on the components that I am going to have...Is the system good value for money? I'm going to use my DVD-RW from my current PC as its only a few months old. Asus TA211 Beige midi tower 360W ATX + audio + USB 2.0 ports £35.19 Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G Skt AM2, On Board VGA, PCI-E, DDR2, SATA 3G RAID, GB LAN, 8ch HD Audio, USB2, Firewire, ATX £57.69 AMD Athlon 64 3500+ / 2.2 GHz AM2 Processor £65.58 2 x Corsair 512MB (1024MB) DDR2 667Mhz PC5300 £71.46 Sapphire Technology Radeon X1600 PRO 256MB DDR2 TVO PCIE £60.73 160 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 SATA2 7200rpm 8MB Cache £38.19 Total: £328.84 Will it be any good for games like Ghost Recon? Have I done a good job? I hope that I havent mucked up. I have tried to make it as cheap as possible, although I could have got some parts for less if they were in stock elsewhere...

Has anybody noticed that Play.com has increased the price of all of its Wii games to £37.99? I wonder why... Wii play is now £34.99 on Gameplay aswell. £37.99 is still far too high, as that is the price of Gears of War on the Xbox 360. £37.99 will be the new standard for 360 games soon. I think that retailers dont want Wii games to be cheap. They want to squeeze as many £'s out of each game sold as possible. Christmas is going to be pure greed for a lot of retailers.

"R Evil 2 is one of the best games I have ever played and I still rank it higher than R Evil 4. You get so much out of R Evil 2 in terms of gameplay value and the story is awesome." I played the demo of Resident Evil 2 on the Playstation version of Resident Evil when I was young...I thought that it was ace at the time! The whole idea of being stuck in a run down city with zombies is awesome... I've been thinking of buying Resident Evil 2 for the N64, Dreamcast or Gamecube all night and think that i'll take the plunge on the GameCube after that comment! I hope that the graphics dont suck too much. Is it a lot like Resdient Evil 1? I thought 1 was incredibly boring.. Anybody played the Dreamcast version? I wonder which console has the best controls.

I guess that I should see how much I can get a Wii and games for...It would be cost price + VAT...It would be nice to know what the actual cost price of a Wii game and the console is! I heard that Play can afford to be cheap as they dont always use UK suppliers. Isnt Jersey VAT free aswell?

The end of a console's life - Not all that bad.
Pyxis replied to Cube's topic in General Gaming Discussion
" GameCube is at an end of it's life, virtually no new games, nowhere sells much stuff for it" That was like 2003-2004. The Dreamcast currently has twice the shelf space at my local Gamestation. I havent been able to find GameCube games at my local Game for months now...Maybe they are there somewhere but couldnt find them after a very good look. -
Any company that makes a controller the shape of a bowling ball = retarded nuff said.........

Gameplay has been swallowed up by Game now. When I left in August, Gameplay had a nice little corner of the Game HQ all to itself, but after coming back in September, it's totally changed! Everybody is mingled with eachother and the little family we had = dead. Im on a contract and game owns my soul. I'm not expecting Gameplay to lower their game prices.

If this is why European Wii's are so much more expensive than the ones in Japan, then this game is the reason why I'm not buying a Wii at launch.

Sony steals the march over Microsoft and Nintendo In a bold move, Sony has created ripples in the online service gaming industry, by launching it's highly awaited but under wraps online service next-gen console, PlayStation 3, Sony has certainly sprung a surprise in more ways than one. Details of the features that equip PS3 were revealed in a press release from Sony's headquarters in London, UK. This was to be expected since the PS3 launch in North America and Japan is just a few weeks away. Sony's PS3 bears marked resemblance to its own existing gaming device, PlayStation Portable. Gamers who are familiar with PSP will find that the user interface for PS3 is the same with the identical menu structure, a horizontal strip of icons with vertical listing of detailed menu options and even the same icons. The built-in web browser is another common feature between PS3 and PSP. Additional features in PS3 gamers to maintain a record of wins and losses by creating additional online profiles and also maintain 'friend status' through a Friends Button. These features already exist in Sony's fierce competitor in this field which is Microsoft Xbox Live. The biggest surprise has been saved by Sony in pricing the PS3. In a daring move, Sony is offering the web browser for free which is sure to make the guys at Nintendo sweat since they only have a limited offer going with the Wii's optional Opera browser. Sony is offering the service free which includes connecting to the PS3's online network, using matchmaking services, voice chat and playing multiplayer games. The only cost element applies to MMORPGS and other games. Since Microsoft's Xbox Live is certainly not a free service, this move by Sony is bound to shake things up in the online gaming industry. So where is Sony planning to make money on the PS3? Keen watchers of the tussle between the two giants say that Sony is banking on online transactions of the game and music content to rake in the profits. Unlike Xbox Live, gamers will not have the option to exchange points for games or rewards. For a pre-determined fee, gamers can purchase rewards from the PS3 online service. These purchases are funded from the Wallet that stores cash which each player has banked, using a web-based 'shopping cart' interface. On offer here is not only regular stuff like new cars and tracks in new Gran Turismo games but game demos and digital music from Sony Connect. Industry watchers wait at the edge of their seats to see what Microsoft's reaction to this move by Sony will be. In the meantime, predictions are already being made that Sony will definitely outsell Nintendo's WII by 2007. Though WII currently dominates with cumulative sales figures of 5.13m over Sony's 4.13m units, the price war is going to benefit Sony in the next year. While gamers can rejoice at this unexpected bonanza from Sony, it will take a while to see how successfully PS3 functions and performs in the long run. http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/9464.html ----------------------------------------

"I think its the stock allocation and software line-up confirmation." Gameplay know I think, but it seems to be a secret..a pleasent secret from what I heard.

I dont think Nintendo would support USB storage if it couldnt make any money from doing so.
-
I think that when you feel like ...this (what you are feeling now) for a console that is actually a replacement for the cube (rather than what came before it) and is £100 more expensive, something isnt quite right with the world..
-
The price of a Playstation 3 and a few games could pay for a trip to the other side of the world... Because I like Nintendo games and cant afford to buy more than 1 console due to other savings (Laptop and 6 month holiday in Malaysia by June), i am stuck with a console that has some of the ugliest looking games out there. Far Cry + GT + Call of Duty 3 + Tony Hawks = *pukes*
-
The PS3 graphics look nice! Its a shame that I wont be able to play with such in game graphics for another 4 years...thanks Nintendo
-
That's great. Hopefully some places will reduce the games to £29.99...then I'll wait until the console drops to £149.99. £32.99 is still too much for me.
-
It's a GameCube game, so i'll buy the GameCube version.

Both sides look exactly the same to me...barely any improvement at all over obsolete hardware. Mario Galaxy does look very nice in motion though...and in that screenshot.
