  1. I bought this, but then realised I havent really played my copy of Diamond yet. I miss the good old days with the proper original Pokemon. I'd rather restart green or gold/silver than waste time on Diamond and Pearl. The game looks nice, but it's pointless. The handheld versions do everything better. How do you use your DS pokemon anyway? I dont see any options on the DS to link up with the Wii. When can you trade pokemon from your GBA games to D&P too?
  2. I use the tube every Saturday for my Chinese course and never get stuck. My card wasnt working one day and I got through 2 of them just by walking directly behind a couple of people who were going through. You just have to get the timing right and people wont even notice.: peace:
  3. Sexuality is kind of boring in a way, because we're just being slaves to our desires. Under all the enjoyment, we're doing things because we feel that we have to and we arent really in control of our own minds.

    Charity

Yep, the original in service date was actually 2012, but the program has already been delayed by 2 years due to the government trying to save money from the project, which has as always just wasted millions and added cost to the carriers! The carriers havent actually been ordered, I believe that only 28 million pounds of the 3.9 billion pound carriers has actually been ordered... Pathetic. The whole carrier thing is just to make the general public believe that the government is investing in the Royal Navy, when it actually isnt. Just amongst the examples are 11 Type 42 destroyers being replaced with only 4 or 6 Type 45 destroyers (2 might be sold to Saudi Arabia) and a submarine fleet of 12 being reduced to 3 and a half (lol) Astutes...they have ordered half of the 4th submarine because they cant quite afford the full thing yet!! Our Type 23 and 22 frigates are partially going to be replaced by tiny little patrol ships instead of proper warships... The carriers are barely going to have anything to protect them and we'll probably need the US navy to protect our carriers in the future. The carriers arent that big of a deal, unless the Falklands get invaded again, which is unlikely, because we tend to use airfields when fighting wars, just like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, our harriers are operating from airfields. In fact, we have no planes for our current 2 aircraft carriers at all! They have to resort to asking other countries to land their harriers on them so the people serving on those ships dont forget how to maintain an air group.... BTW, there will only ever be 1 carrier on operations at a time. Carriers need to spend most of the year being serviced. The same goes for our 6 type 45s, only 4 will be available at a time. Our entire country is only protected by 10 ships at the moment and I bet that will get worse! edit: Sorry about my rambling! I think the charity is a great idea, but its a real shame that our government and MoD arent doing anything for those people. Its a total failure on their part.

    Charity

It sounds like a great charity, but defence is the government's responsibility. I'm a huge fan of the military, although sadly, the vast majority of people in this country couldnt care less about defence. The military needs huge increases to its budget to fund the better treatment of its service men and more importantly, to fund equipment procurement, but defence spending is falling year after year... The government and MoD are lying to themselves to the point where it hurts. Politicians will only ever do things for votes and us Brits care more about our pathetic wasted lives (alcohol + reality tv) than the welfare of our military, who used to defend a country worth defending. Our military today is a joke. Our navy is in ruins and will never be able to do anything useful again. We arent even capable of achieving what we did at the beginning of the Iraq war. It wont be long before we're down to a couple of guys and a pair of donkeys.
  6. Wow, this thread is bigger than the football and cars threads combined. That says a lot about this forum.
  7. I'm not sure which edition it is. In the shop, they had a DVD edition and a VCD edition (with only 10 films). Although it has stickers of authenticity and was sold in a respectable shop, I bet it's pirated or possibly made in Malaysia under licence for Malaysian distribution (hence the Malay subtitles). Malays can never do things quite right! Little things like the menus give it away. Pom Poko sometimes messes up on my girlfriend's DVD player too. We have 2 copies and tried them both. I dont know what to say about the translation:heh: I have some of the series that Baboo has (Spirited Away, Totoro and My Neighbours the Yamadas) and if you watch the dubbed versions of those with english subtitles at the same time, they are totally different! I found that really strange. This boxset seems perfectly fine, but I dont understand much Japanese (its been a few years since I got my level 1 96% distinction, hehe), only English. Ive watched the normal Totoro you can get here and the one on the boxset and didnt notice any big difference. This Malaysian website is selling 14 Ghibli films on 5 DVDs for 69.90rm (10 pounds when the RM is at its normal rate of 1 pound to 7RM): http://www.eastern.com.my/dvd_search.asp?key=ghibli&type=dvd Films listed here: http://cgi.ebay.com.my/The-Great-Collection-of-Studio-Ghibli-14-movies-5-DVD_W0QQitemZ300184654289QQihZ020QQcategoryZ1345QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ShippingPayment
  8. You have the same computer case as me, but in black. Mine's white, but yours looks so much better! Is your PC loud? The fan in the back of mine is terrible.
  9. "Both for £4.99 each from hmv.co.uk" You probably think thats good value, but I bought 12 of their films while in Malaysia on holiday for just 11 pounds on 6 discs, with english, malay and chinese subtitles.. That's less than a pound for each film! Pardon the walls! Im currently decorating my bedroom. I've just bought a 20 inch widescreen HD ready Samsung TV/monitor with support for 1080p and HDMI. I needed this to replace my old 17 inch CRT and 14 inch TV. It has a 3.5 headphone jack, composite and s video connections on the side. The keyboard is also new and was 10 pounds or so from play.com. I got the DVD player before Christmas and it upscales to 1080i, which is ok. It loosk good! I just need a new mouse now (and plaster and paint for the walls..)
  10. Bloody hell.. The 300 ones were in stock just now and even though I wanted 1000 points, I thought i'd buy 3 x 300 points and 1 x 100 points, but ive reached my limit according to the website! Why set all the points cards at the same limit of one per day when 10 x 100 points = the same as 1 x 1000 points. Now I have to try and get a 500 and a 100.... Not today of course.
  11. I bought a Wii in town today and it came with one of these! They've also changed Wii Sports so that the game shows diagrams of remotes with them on. Digusting! Wii Sports also came in a card sleeve, instead of a plastic case.... It's a German Wii.
  12. A few pics of the P2 interface:
  13. The fact that it has an SD card slot is what will sell that Zen. I dont like the screen size though, although it is bigger than the norm! Its a great price with 8gb of memory. As far as screen sizes go, 3.5 must be ideal, although the 3 inch P2 widescreen is just as good at displaying 16:9 video files. If im playing a video that isnt widescreen, its a bit hard to see what's going on!
  14. I got my P2 yesterday and it's truely amazing! I was pretty unsure about the touch screen controls when watching videos online, although the interface is stunning! The P2 looks even better in the flesh and everything about it screams quality. I'll post some pics later. The sound on this thing makes me feel like im listening to all my favourite songs for the first time. It has as many sound options as my PC.
  15. I'm one of those people who discovers a new song once in a blue moon. It would have been great if they made 16GB versions, like the ipod touch. Most people seem to need a lot of storage these days. Do you prefer HDs? I like flash, but I have no idea why. My first and most recent MP3 player was the Samsung YP-Z5. Its interface was pretty bad, but you could have run it over with a car and it would still work. I dropped it on the pavement almost every day for about 6 months. It stopped working after being dropped in the bath for the 3rd time! It still worked, but the direction buttons wouldnt. I was so impressed by how reliable it was.
  16. Yeah, they look great! The thing I like the most is how the buttons appear from nowhere on the S5:
  17. The Samsung YP-P2 will be out at the end of this month: "The highlights of the Samsung P2 are the large 3 inch wide-screen (WQVGA resolution) and the built-in Bluetooth 2.0 interface. Other features include FM Tuner, WMV 9/10, WMA, MP3 and MP4 compatible, clock, photo viewer, text viewer, voice recorder and DNSe 2.0 technology. The battery life of the Samsung P2 is 5 hours for watching video and 35 hours listening to music. Measurements of the YP-P2 are 3.9x2.1x0.4inch and the weight is 3 ounces." Its screen is also a touch screen and it comes in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities. I'm getting the 4GB version as that's plenty for me! The 8GB one is only 129.99 on Play.com: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/-/595/803/-/3468349/Samsung-YP-P2JCB-XEU-8GB-Touch-Screen-Video-And-MP3-Player-With-Built-In-FM-Tuner/Product.html?searchtype=genre Samsung are also releasing an upgrade to their K5 at the end of the month, called the S5. It only has a 1.8 inch screen, but has a built in speaker, bluetooth (you can sync it with your mobile phone via bluetooth and take calls through it), video, voice recorder and fm radio: I'm buying a 2GB one for my girlfriend as she's always complains about earphones damaging ears! Samsung MP3 players are reliable, look great and have great sound.
  18. Yeah, the actual Gamestation stores are great. I bought a mario plumbers one there well over a year ago now. I'll look in my local store, although they dont have a huge selection.
  19. Do any of you guys know any decent online shops selling Nintendo/Sonic t-shirts? I was a huge sonic fan when I was a kid and i had my fair share of shirts then, as well as sonic roller blades, gloves, scarves, yoyos, year books and so on! Gimmie! http://www.gamestation.co.uk/cat.asp?cat=clothing&t=bestsellers Im interested in the big in japan and sonic standing white shirts, although gamestation has the sonic one listed as out of stock.
  20. Dont you just go around hitting things with a hammer? It sounds like they are just designing a game around a way to use the Wii remote, rather than starting off with an idea for a great game. Oops, sorry. Im actually British. Im not sure where Malaysians buy games. When I was there last summer, the only games I could see were PS2 games and fake GBA games being sold on market stalls in shopping centres. The blur albums I bought while there were imported from the UK and I even bought an imported copy of Edge magazine. I guess that Malaysia doesnt have its own suppliers. I left all my games at home and had nothing but Final Fantasy 1&2 and my DS for a month. Im going again this November and I bet that there are some stores in KL.
  21. It would be cool if they made a Wii version of Advance Wars (rather than Battalion Wars), kind of like the way they made a Warioware for the Gamecube. Intelligent systems are amazing.
  22. "I like my Wii." What games do you play on it? Games like Red Steel and Sonic seem to be the gaming versions of Marmite, then you've got a tonne of PS2 ports by Ubisoft and EA. Red Steel 2 will probably be great.
  23. Does anybody else here not have a Wii yet, like me? I havent bought a game in ages.. The last 2 games I bought were Resident Evil 2 & 3 for the Dreamcast a week ago and I havent bought a new game since Christmas, because the Gamecube has been dead for ages. I havent even bothered to buy Zelda because it just looks so dated compared to my first impressions back in 2005. I'll probably buy it in 10-15 years time when its aged graphics suit it a bit more. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and read the news on websites like Cubed3 every day, but the death of the Cube has led to me having little to no interest in playing games. Nothing about the Wii interests me at all, but I really want to be enticed by it because I love Nintendo and bought around 50 games for the GameCube. What are other non-Wii owners waiting for? I'm probably not in the minority when I say that I'm waiting for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros Brawl. I want REAL games. I'd kill for a new F-Zero, pushing the Wii to its limits or a port of Resident Evil 5. I've completed Resident Evil 4 6 times.... Forever Blue sounds great, but i've got a feeling that its going to suck, like Project Hammer. I have high hopes for E3 and if nothing big is announced in the next few months, I'm just going to stop playing games altogether...that's not a threat, it's just how the Wii and Nintendo makes me feel about games.
  24. Im with Bard and Zell, the Wii doesnt have any good games yet (Zelda is a GameCube port) and it isnt currently worth wasting 180 pounds on if you hate the idea of Wii Sports like I do. I was spoiled rotten when I bought my first GameCube with Rogue Leader and Resident Evil for just 159.99! (Now when I played those games for the first time, I did say wow!!!!) Wii owners are just treated to Ubisoft/EA tripe, while the 360 is getting all the decent games. I only tend to buy AAA titles aswell and dont just buy crap because its the only thing available. Unfortunately for me, I hate Microsoft.
  25. They havent released a single screenshot of this game have they? And theres only a few days to go until launch. That 100% means that its a pile of far cry poo.
