I usually find the Logic 3 stuff pretty good (or have I just been lucky?). I have their white Gamecube pad, and it's very good imho. Nice stick and the feel is very much as I remember the original.

Depends how you look at it. I would say how can you not give it 10/10 for graphics? It's more striking than Uncharted imho. "You will come to learn that many of the truths we cling to, depend greatly on a certain point of view". /paraphrases Yoda /or Obi-Wan /can't remember which /isn't sure what Star Wars has to do with Mario /gets coat

What I'd really love to see in Galaxy 2 is some bigger and more expansive levels. I've been playing Mario Sunshine recently (boy is that game underrated!), and I'm really enjoying how vast and unfettered it feels. It's so busy and alive too, and seems to have a life of it's own regardless of the players input. I really love that about Sunshine. Often just running about the levels you'd see something new, such as birds just flying past your head or that little boat that just tootles about aimlessly. Sometimes Galaxy felt a little bit linear and limited in scope compared to Sunshine, so I'm hoping they've addressed that. However, don't take my criticisms wrong. On balance my fave out of the two would be Galaxy. It is just endlessly inventive and rewarding to play, and feels more polished. Even now after completing it I'll play it through and it still manages to surprise. High hopes for number 2.

No, it's definitely a short game for a Zelda title. I think I played under 20 hours before I'd clocked it anyway. Both me and Mrs Project (a big Zelda-ite since LttP on SNES) went "Eh? Is that it?" once we'd got to the end. It really felt as though a big section (or three) somewhere had been edited out or something. But still, I love it dearly. There's no other Zelda like it, that's for sure. However, to me, Twilight Princess is superior in every aspect other than the graphics.

I agree. I feel Brawl is the better game generally. I was going to list Zelda: Wind Waker as disappointing game here, but realised that that would be really unfair. I did feel a bit cheated that it was over so quickly. Very unusual for a big Zelda title, but the game has so much charm that it's impossible to come away feeling let down. I did prefer Twilight Princess though.

I was really lucky and got it for £12.99 off gameplay.co.uk. :awesome: My honest opinion of it is I prefer it to Street Fighter IV. It might not be as flashy in the looks department or as technical (though it has it's moments), but it's somewhat more approachable and fun to play. What a game.

Nintendo to charge for Online Services?
K-project replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This pretty much sums it up for me. -
I think Smith has been absolutely stellar in all the episodes. Terrific Doctor, and I loved watching him face off against the Daleks with a Jammy Dodger. Brilliant moment among a lot of brilliant moments. I don't think it's put a foot wrong so far this new series. And it's not even got going yet.

Forgive my necromancing... Well, that's me eating a bit of humble pie with this game. That's two EA games I've picked up on the cheap recently that have turned out really well. I didn't expect much from either this or Nitro, but I'm loving both of them. Fair do's it's not PES, but then it's not trying to be. That doesn't mean it's dumb or unsatisfying to play. I expected to find it a bit naff after the precision of PES on the Wii, but I'm absolutely loving the gameplay now I've got used to the controls. It did take a bit of acclimatising to after years of the Konami game, but it's really, really great fun. For my money it looks way better than PES too. The style they've gone for is very attractive imho. Well worth the £15 I paid. Needs extra stuff putting in for next years though. Not enough options or modes for a full price game. One to keep an eye on though.

We've just been watching it again on BBC3, and I have to say I loved the delivery there! It was as though he didn't want to really go any further with it, but hinted at a deeper inner pain. He didn't wear it like a badge, as perhaps Tennant might have done. Not that I'm slagging Tennant, I bloody loved him. Just a different take on the character. I also loved the "Nobody human has anything to say to me today" line. Brilliant. Not gonna be a Doctor that says "I'm so, so sorry" then. Lots of fun as an episode though. Yes you can nitpick holes, but you can do that with pretty much all sci-fi and TV. Overall, it was a very impressive "difficult" second episode.

I like Windows 7 a lot, but I'm getting a bit annoyed with the occasional black screen after playing a game or whatever, and only being able to hard reboot to get out of it. It's happened so many times now, and it's no good for your filesystem constantly switching the PC off in this manner.
-
I think you mean Broken Sword? Looks like it could be fun though. I think I'd go for this more rather than the proposed Wii game that's on it's way.

Christ, what's up with this bloke? Would it have sold better on the 360? Nope. I think it's a great wee game, but it's no million seller on whatever platform you would put it on. It's a niche, fun beat 'em up, with 16 bit gameplay and modern comic book gore. Bayonetta or Mario Galaxy it is not. And aren't they doing a sequel to Conduit? Have I missed something?

Don't much go for this idea that he's somehow channelling Tennant's Doc. The only time I thought that was how he said "Amelia Pond. Like a fairytale name". But he felt very much his own thing to me. Very funny, a bit sarky as mentioned, more eccentric than Tennant's Doctor, and a bit edgy too. You get the feeling that he's capable of much more than you're seeing in this ep. Also, the chemistry between him and Amy was much more alive, more believable than what we've had before imho. Roll on next week says I. A really successful start for the whole thing.

Absolutely phenomenal. What more can you say? Smith nailed it, Gillen nailed it, Moff and the whole team knocked it clear out of the park. Tremendous stuff. Watched it twice now, and it just gets better and better. Now, more!

Spring Mario was fantastic. Even my youngest can handle him just fine. You're just a bunch of cack-handed twats, and I claim my five pounds! Great trailer. Really looks the biz. I'm gonna get this, even though it does indeed look like more of the same with the extra bits on.

God, they're filming until the end of March? Crikey, it's on telly at the beginning of April!

I have no friends, and I only play offline. Never bothered with any online component in a game, not on console or my PC. I just prefer the solo experience. But yes, sorry I didn't mention it. There's no online in the game. It's still well worth it though. I reckon if it had a Nintendo badge on the front rather than an EA one, it would have perhaps been received more positively. As it is, it's yet another one of those Wii hidden gems imho.

OK, OK, I'm bumping old topics. Sorry. Just wanted to post up and say I did end up getting this, and it's really quite brilliant. A real surprise. Tailoring NFS for the Wii in this way is imho a success. Some have commented about the drift being a bit simplistic, and I suppose this is true to some extent, but it still requires skill to master and gives the game an almost OutRun 2006 feel. Huge screeching swings around corners makes me happy. There's a terrific turn of speed too, especially when boosting with the dual Nitro, and thanks to the general arcade-feel to the thing it makes it just a lot of fun to play. Watching the videos of the game though, doesn't prepare you for how pretty it actually is when running. It's not quite as detailed as other more serious racers, but it still looks sharp and polished. The speed hasn't harmed the appearance. There's no pop up or glitching. I know! In an EA game! Hats off to the devs for really making "Custom built for the Wii" a lovely surprise for a change, rather than a crushing disappointment (ahem FIFA10 cough). I really hope this style is kept and built on for future titles in the series on the Wii.

Quite fancy picking this up. The reviews have been mostly pretty good, but the main thing for me is that it looks enormous fun to play. I'm really missing a fun racing game after Mario Kart and Excite Truck. Normally (on the older consoles anyway) I dismiss the NFS games as being all style and no substance, but after reading up on this and watching some videos on YT I think I'll give it a go. I love the graphics style (apart from the character designs - too much of those type of designs on the Wii), and 60 frames a second is a deal sealer. What's the cheapest I can get it for? I've currently got it at Amazon for £12.99. Anywhere else better? Plus, if you've been playing it a while, what's your thoughts? Ta.

You in Sheffield too Shorty? I woke up this morning and was shocked at the sight! Hopefully it won't hang around too long, but it's quite deep innit?

Deffo a Silurian that. What a fantastic teaser. Lots of fun, and loving the new Doctor very much. Love his manner and the costume. Karen looks amazing too. Can't wait!

I'm a lucky get today. Just popped into GAME in town, and managed to nab the last copy they had of Metroid Trilogy for £19.99! Brand new! I can't believe the bargainessness. /dances

Good points, especially - It certainly does! Like I say, I've loved it really, and to be honest what with the recent events and my getting hold of the box sets, it's really re-ignited my passion for it. I've started buying some of the past series DVD's, starting with (who else?) Tom Baker. He was my Doc as a kid, and the one I have the most memories of. Gonna get hold of a few sets to take me up to Easter. It's magic that it's all back really.
