Good to see the effort's going in, guys...

Yeah I kinda like it myself. It's a clever way of dealing with the issue. It's more of a problem for DC too- their characters pre-date Marvel's by a good 20 years at least, often 30- One of the reasons Wonder Woman needed such a big overhaul is because her costumed is designed for ww2 propaganda strips and makes very, very little sense now.

Yeah. It's funny that as comics became more complex, the writers had to come up with all these reasons for the outlandish costumes and stuff that didn't really matter back in the day. When superman was invented, the costume was just a bright costume. Now it's made out of a Kryptonian flag for the house of El or whatever. Similarly, spandex costumes in X-Men were 'replaced' by advanced body armour designed by the Shi'ar (that just so happens to look exactly like spandex) and in Fantastic Four the spandex is replaced by 'unstable molocules' designed by Reed so that the outfits can stretch, go invisible, not get incinerated or get torn by bulging rock packages.

It does make sense- though obviously not the intention of whoever designed Batman back in the day. One of those in-continuity explanations for something out of continuity that can't really be explained.

So i'm sure most of us are familiar with the term Jumping The Shark, but for those not cool enough to be my friends, here's a summary. It is the point at which established series' events and characterisation cease to matter and it devolves in to shameless self parody. The original shark jump was literally that- in Happy Days, the Fonz jumps over a shark on water skis as part of a challenge- the moment at which it is considered that Happy Days was officially doomed. But when else has it happened? What other series have, for you, descended in to the worst kind of twilight years and never recovered? My personal favorite is from 24. Though the series had been ridiculous for several years prior to this moment, I remember watching this and being confused- Where had Jack Bauer gone, and why was Tom and Jerry on TV at night? In the scene, Jack is fighting a terrorist with a bomb vest on a subway. Shit! Micil-Asian badfuck guy gets his hand on the detonator so what does jack do? He dropkicks him out of the fucking train as he explodes. I rewatched the scene and there's actually a stranded salt water predator on the tracks just before the bomb goes off. So what else makes the grade?

That's truly incredible.

sorry, poor choice of words- didn't realise the term had already been taken. He's Ion, or was. Forgot what to call him.

Yeeeaah. Which Monday though, damn it?

This is going to be hilarious. The trailer is absolutely brilliant- though I hope it's not too long because Rodriguez can really go on for far too long sometimes.

That's a really weird shot. Looks like a Jim Henderson puppet. Paj: I like how they organised all the Lanterns on Earth though: Hal and John are partners on Earth, Guy is an Honour Lantern in space helping out the Corps and Kyle is some kind of alpha Lantern with way more power than the others.
-
Yeah kind of- one of the Green Lanterns local to Earth's patch of space crashes in the desert and while he's dying in the wreck the ring finds Hal Jordan (Reynolds) and recruits him as his successor. There's always been loads of them though as they cover the entire galaxy.

Not a bad idea. As for post processing: massive. Green Lantern's 'suit' is entirely CGI because it's not actually real- it's energy from his ring made in to body armour. and Green Lantern isn't a traditional super hero in that he's a Green Lantern not the Green Lantern. He's one of thousands of Lanterns who act as cosmic policemen, all based off a massive planet, Oa. So you have a GC action lead, an alien supporting cast aaaand all the action sequences are quite high concept in the books- the Lanterns create physical objects out of green light with their minds so pretty much anything can happen. If they do all this right, it's going to take a huge post production effort.

Really sorry to hear that man. She looks gorgeous:( sounds like you gave her a really good life though, which you should be proud of. My cat passed away a while ago and it was really hard on me- he was my best friend too and I loved him to bits. But it helped knowing that we showed him love and care during his life and that we helped him go peacefully in the end when it was his time. shit I'm choking up writig this even now. Hpe you feel better soon.

He looks a bit smaller than he should- unless he and Giant Man are both really, really far away.

IMO the more characters that are around Superman, the worse he gets. If he's so powerful, why does he need the JLA?
-
Only it would involve Hyrdoman, who's about as threatening as a cheese sandwich.

Is it just me or is the perspective all wrong for Thor on the Ultimates 2 cover?

Yeah man. Least you have all the series to watch between then but I've already seen it all! season 3 ended in June and the show comes back the same time next year
-
God this hurts to say. Season 4 starts in *sigh* about a year.
-
Cans all the way. Every time.

Since when was owning books a waste of space? Fuck this.

I don't know why'd you'd want thousands of books in one device anyway. It's not like thousands of songs that last 4 minutes and you pick from at random- books take weeks to read and you only read one at a time.
