Anyone who hasn't should really check out Settlers of Catan. It's the best boardgame I've ever played and I've had semi regular games with friends for ages. It's surprisingly deep, just on the tactical side of chance and open to all kinds of strategy and player interaction. And best of all no two games are the same thanks to a random board layout. Doooo eeeeeiiiiit.

The ultimate origin is best. It combines the geneticly enhanced spider (no radiation) with mechnaical web shooters. The fluid is based on a half finished formula left behind by his dad that Peter keeps on a blackboard in his basement and he finally cracks it after he gets his powers. It's a great origin because it elevates Peter's status as an orphan in his character and makes his parents, not just his aunt and uncle, strong characters. Later, Venom comes from a similar link- Peter and Ben Riley's parents were working on a 'suit' that enhanced human healing to cure cancer but the unfinished tissue is unstable and becomes Venom when Peter wears it.

I'm guessing instant? People who say they don't like coffeee after only having instant...well they've never actually ever had a cup of coffee. Instant is vile stuff. I can't stomach the taste at all- it makes me gag. Real coffee though- the stuff actually made from coffee beans- is delicious. It's rich, full of flavor and infinitely changeable from cup to cup.

There was a report about this on the Today progame this morning- psychological studies have shown that we're thirty times more likely to laugh at a joke in company than alone- Darwin pinpointed it as a social empathy tool. Laughter tracks are designed to make you feel like part of an audience so you laugh with that same connection.

When Claremont gave Wolverine bone claws after he had Magneto rip his Adamantium out. They changed a perfectly good origin and took all the significance out of it.

Besides, Starcraft isn't really about brute strength. Canny players can take out overwhelming numbers with clever tricks. I remember playing my mate back in the day and wiping out entire armies with single specialist units he just hadn't prepared for. It was glorious.

I'm watching all the multiplayer videos because I've already played that part and as I've been playing Halo online more or less ever since Halo 2 on the oldbox, I just want to see what's going on there. Campaign spoilers are a HELL NO though. There's literally nothing I can gain from them and I can only loose out by not experiencing things first hand on my 360.

Interesting, yeah. I find it hard to believe that Rodgers' Avengers would easily square off with the T-bolts team he sanctioned but I guess we'll see how that pans out. At any rate, Rodgers vs Crossbones could be a lot of fun- He was, afterall, the sniper outside the court house and I don't think they've met since. I wonder where Cage and the other high ranking 'day job' T-Bolts will stand, too.
