I have to say that aftetr being totally meh over Neon Bible, The Suburbs rocks my face off. It's by far their best album and a real keeper. Odd band though- without being 'shallow' per se, they kind of blast away full throttle on early listens but I've never found them so compelling longer term, but I don't know why.

True- i think the problem really comes down to a basic problem that even the best of the best facial animation etc is miles and miles behind the likes of physics and particle effects. Fireballs and debris come to gaming far easier than a nuanced smile. I'm hoping games like Heavy Rain and L.A Nior are representative of a trend towards something a little more balanced.

Battlefield is so far superior to COD it's actually hilarious.

Well...no..he's basically untouchable in hand to hand combat, can jump across rooftops, dodge bullets, has incredible stamina, he's super-strong (proportional strengh- would you want to be hit by a spider the size of us?) In fact, I've always considered him one of Marvel's most powerful super heroes.

Naa! Mechanical shooters work in a lot of ways that biological ones don't. Once you get past the 'omg he's only a kid he can't do that!' wall (artfully demolished in Ultimate Spider-Man, fun fans) they're a strong part of his character.

He's an incredibly convoluted badguy- he's several clones and psychic hosts past his original body so he may have originally worn a mask but it's certainly a real face at this point. Or was. I think Brubaker killed him off pretty thoroughly not so long ago.
