Come on, this is just plain bad, this is a step down something I can not understand. Games out there for the Wii that give you games of bowling, Tennis and such, these games have some people say 'Why not just do it in real life?' But this takes the cake It's this part that makes me fucking lol. A game that seems like they say 'Oh you can only use this once a year on someones birthday.' It's cheaper to have all those activities and have it a lot cheaper then buying this crap.

Who still had the other garden under control which destoryed one garden (I think that's what you called them, can't remember.) Not to mention those weird guys at the beggining and talking about the true leader of the garden dwelling in the basement (Seriously the story got nowhere, it was as if the story writers got sick of writing about one part and continued on to another) The game was seriously all over the place. Hence why they don't try so hard like Final Fantasy is now, I mean there are times where you just predict a twist in Final Fantasy and it happenes. The thing that makes Dragon Quest so much better in my eyes is that it's everything packed into one game, an RPG with the adventure feel with a well told story. And oh heck, thanks to that we have more time to remember them very well, playing final fantasy and seeing chracters change in the split second gives me the shits, you start to like the character and the *snap* fuck, he's now this other character who is all 'I am the hero, so what if I was an emo half of the game, I have people to protect' Plus a mute hero is better then a god damn hero that can talk, because usually they are the most annoying characters, with the main character a mute you can have time to love all the other characters without the main hero saying 'What about me!!!!!' he changes his personality like, once through the whole game, and that was the second half of the game, it gives me the shit when things like that happened, all because some girl came into his life. oh shit, thats right, they are teenagers, but then again it was right after that Squall tried to act all hero and shit acting like an adult. Funny how Cecil from Final Fantasy IV had more personality then every other main character in the fnal fantasy series. Hence why I find it perhaps one of the most maturist games out there. Exaclty, Squall was a dick from start to finish, hence why I said earlier, Laguna would have been a better character if he had the lead roll. We both have different veiws, I don't see the whole fuss is about FFVIII, the battle system was bleh, characters were meh in my eyes, and well...the story itself is...messy, there were many times where I was going 'WTF!? but didn't he die? where is the explanation dammit!!!'

I was about the same age as well. But I mean, the best parts of the game by far was when you were playing as Laguna. Now imagine a whole game with him as the main character rather then Squall, would have made the game soooooooo much better. Funny how you say that when ever since FFVI I feel like I am playing the same crap over and over again. 'Protectors of the world, we are gifted we must go and fight the giant evil empire!!!' At least with dragon quest you have characters you won't forgot, and even towns, heck I don't really remember any towns, lands or characters in final fantasy after VII. While I clearly remember the ones in the dragon quest series.

Ah yes, the demise of a once great series, nothing but a teen series mostly led by such fucking dull main characters (Yeah I said it) I will go back to playing the game one day though (I am trying to get through all games I own, no matter how crap and how hard it is to get through.) But after playing Persona 2,3,4 and most of the Dragon Quest series, RPG's feel a lot easier and much quicker to complete, so this game might be a cake walk this time.

It does indeed look like Dragon Quest VIII a lot, but the fact that you can customize your main character is an aspect I am looking forward to. And yes, the Alchemy Pot is in the game, but unlike in VIII, I believe it remains at the bar, rather then being with you all the time. If you bought the japanese copy of Dragon Quest VIII it was all done in Midi (Yeah english got it good when it came over here). But just like the VIII of the series, Sugiyama will most likely be making an orchestrated album for IX. Most likely, I don't know if they did all the other dragon quest games or not as well with translation. Have you tried out the ones on the DS? If not, I highly recomend Dragon Quest V.

I am getting the jap copy of this, so I don't know if I should be spoiled with the scans in there, might have to ignore this thread for a bit until I get the game in the mail.

The games I want are now starting to come out now, so to me, I think Nintendo are doing a good job, plus it was great being able to catch up on some older games that I had yet to complete, so in the end it's been all good ^_^

Well the only game I only like that I might still play from time to time is Call Of Duty 4, nothing else interests me.

You'll get your answer on the 11th next month when japan shuts itself down. I have been told that you only control one character through the entire battle while the other characters are controlled by the computer. So yeah, this is not something I am looking forward to if I get the game.

No, I don't think it has online multiplayer, but it still has multiplayer if around friends. Well my taste differs, I like IV, V, VI, VII and IX. Times ar changing series that I once loved, now is in the garbarge to me. But now replaced by Dragon Quest and the whole Shin Megami Tensei series which are by far perhaps the best RPG's out there on the PS2

Now that there is a thread like this, I am thinking of going back to playing Final Fantasy X, since I thought it was a complete bore fest that had the shittiest characters ever in RPG...on par with VIII to me. They were so fucking generic. Perhaps I am missing the point, but if I don't finish the game and give up on it, that's it, never again.

Funny thing...I really don't give a shit about this and Tekken 6. After the bore fest of Soul Calibur 4 and Tekken 5, I have no interest. PSP is a good thing this year because of one game....Persona, all other games on the system can go get fucked
