killer kirby replied to immy's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The greatest monster for me to get was easily a Golem, equip him with falcon blade and done, he is unstoppable. -

killer kirby replied to ndreamer's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Thought I would mention that Dragon Quest IX sales are now almost > DQVIII and should easily overtake next week in sales. Now all thats left to beat is DQVII to be the number one Dragon Quest game in the series -

I don't see the true hate to short single player games to be honest, some are short yet have fantastic gameplay and replay value. Games like the original Mario come to my mind, and even the metroid series are short games, but are fun as hell trying to go through it all in a short amount of time and trying to get all the hidden items.

Iwata: E3 keynote should have been better
killer kirby replied to mcj metroid's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Give the team a chance, they only just released IX E3 isn't really a big thing for me anymore, seems like it's in the back of a lot of minds of game makers now, most of the time all of them have their own press conference thats not around E3, and most of the time it's always better. -
Dragon Quest IV, V, VI: The Zenithia Trilogy

Hmm...hard to say to be honest, I usually stroll through most Dragon Quest games and enjoy it. I picked Nera for the wife since she is still the best out of the three (When you look at battle perspective she is better then the other 2) I found it good, made everything click in in the end. -

No need to, you stated a good reason as to not like the last bit of the game, I ain't going to hound you down for it when you have a good reason and explain it well I am just replaying Dragon Quest VI on the SNES at the moment, can't wait to see what they are going to do with it on the DS ^_^ -
Dragon Quest VIII - Why is it So Good?
killer kirby replied to Grazza's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Ugh...Grazza, your a cool guy, but I get saddened by these comments a lot nowadays. Yes, I am waiting for HD game of Dragon Quest, the fact is that it will come ONE DAY!!! Just not now, instead Yuji Horii is using his head and putting Dragon Quest on the systems that are selling the best, not just the ones that are pretty but sell like shit (I bet any money Square must be feeling the pressure from the 100000000000000000000 games Nomura is making for the PS3 because the only two things which are perfect in his eyes are Gackt and Sony) Remaking is fucking pointless, I now have decided that after playing Final Fantasy VII and VIII (Yeah played and finished it finally I might go back to the other thread about FFVIII and take back some of my comments *Gasp* ) Why remake a game, especially a game going on HD? You know how much that would cost to make? A shit load. I would rather have a 100 developing team work on a BRAND NEW GAME see how I said brand new and not remake. Why remake something that we already have? I would rather have something new. The Dragon Quest remakes are ok for one reason...not much of a big team at all making it...perhaps around 20-30 people or even less are making it, it's not the main developing team of the main series. -
THIS What I want more now in games are some nice simple songs that sound good and no where near sound as epic as most games are trying to be nowadays. This music is giving me vibes of God Hand which is always an awesome thing xD

Dragon Quest VIII - Why is it So Good?
killer kirby replied to Grazza's topic in General Gaming Discussion
pic of Dragon Quest VII Pics of other PS1 games Just kind of stating that if we were back in the PS1 era, and all of us getting excited about Dragon Quest VII coming out on it (Waiting 6 years for it) imaging that the game will look like the games I just showed you, I think a lot of people would hit the roof knowing that it looks exactly like a SNES game. Thats why I am loving the fact that it's on the DS, gives the finger to all those people that think the handheld is only for spinoffs which is well, sad. Yes it doesn't look as good as DQVIII, but hey, won't stop me from enjoying a handheld game that is 2gb big in size and has over 100 hours of gameplay put into it ^^ Plus the game looks smooth as when going on a field and having enemies as well as your whole party walking. -
Dragon Quest VIII - Why is it So Good?
killer kirby replied to Grazza's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's odd, because through my play, I onlyever had REAL trouble with two bosses in all, I never ran away from a fight, always used the alchemy pot to make sure I had all healing items etc etc... It's perhaps harder for the people who were really new to the game playing this, because most RPG's you just use what you have with fighting skills and then you use your items after a fight, but items are a BIG help in DQ. Wow, you really need to play Dragon Quest I+II on the SNES (Or NES whatever you prefer) as well as Dragon Quest VII. That's why there are very easily missable side quests you can do that make most fights easy once you have done them. DQ is always said to be about grinding, well, I have not grind in a DQ game since DQ I+II and DQVII and even then it was very little amount. Like right at the start of the game. Go behind the waterfall and get the mans tools, by then you should have enough money to go buy a boomerang which really helps you out at the start ^^ It doesn't have to be a time burner ^^ Just look for little things you could do before going into a cave instead of going in, die, go back in, die, go back in and beat him. -

But thats the same with all bosses in all DQ games, from what I have read from your previous posts revolving around DQ series it seems you are not really far into DQIV or V. The bosses are always easy to begin with in any DQ game (Well...besides the one in the first DQ game) Plus you can still take your time on the decisions on what you make in DQ it's not fast pace like Chrono Cross and Baten Kaitos Origins As you continue on in the games in the DQ series, you continue to grow as well as the monsters (And of course bosses) since you need to make sure you use all types of things you have learnt or gotten from treasure chests and in stores (Thats why I love playing Dragon Quest as a whole, most RPG, I could get something and still never use it) -

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition

Trayarch don't get a lot of praise but dammit they should not be spat upon, they are a team that never catch a break, most of the time they get rushed by activision to make something in a short amount of time and I bet this game is no different, from what I have played from COD5 on the Wii it's a very good game. This is why I would wish Activision would let Trayarch get a bit more leg room and let them work on perhaps a Wii exclusive brand new COD game, I am sure they could very well with it. But of course, this won't happen >_> -
Dragon Quest VIII - Why is it So Good?
killer kirby replied to Grazza's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Sorry I didn't put IMO at the end of it. The fact is, I am always on the run, I can never have as much time sitting down playing games anymore, most of the time I am on a train, a bus and after all that, I just want to relax. Most RPG's length of a game can easily fit into a handheld game now, Monster Hunter on the PSP is a prime example, it has got over 100 hours on it and I still play it from time to time. Harvest Moon as well as Rune Factory on the DS waste a lot of my time and I should also add all those SRPG's I have. People diss the handeheld too much and it really gives me the shits, it's always bad mouthed by 'console people' because it doesn't have realistic graphics but graphics like a N64. Making a game on DS doesn't automatically make it a bad game compared to what it could have been on the 360 or PS3, to know that I will be playing DQIX, a brand new DQ game in the main series on the train or bus is something I am very happy about. Yeah it's a good introduction to the series, it's a slow game compared to the rest of the Dragon Quest series so you can take your time with it and enjoy it ^_^ -

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition
killer kirby replied to Dyson's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It really is true, Activision is now the new EA of old. It would be nice to maybe have the team working on the Wii version of modern warfare to get to make a brand new Call Of Duty game just for the Wii...but this is Activision we are talking about -

1.Dragon Quest VII (PS1) 2.Dragon Quest V (SNES) 3.Dragon Quest III (NES) 4.Dragon Quest IV (NES) 5.Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) 6.Dragon Quest I (NES) 7.Dragon Quest II (NES) I would keep arguing with Sheikah but there really is no point if I reply back he will reply back with the same defense -
Cut scenes that can't be skipped i RAGE at this!!! A lot of RPG's and even other types of games do it now, and if you die, you have to go through the whoooooooole scene again, making it damn annoying. >_>
