Yeah It does seem as if Neogaf is done. For the Sony Paris show today, probably one of the bigger events since everything that went down with the forum, there were threads on both Neogaf and Reset era. The Resetera thread has over 6500 posts meanwhile the Gaf one has 429.

Saw this on twitter just now lol

Looks like there is another system update already, 4.0.01, which is just a standard stability update. Improvements Included in Version 4.0.1 (Distributed 10/25/2017) General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience, including: Changed the HDMI connection process specification to match that of version 3.0.2 to address video and sound output issues with some TV models.

Apparently you can pre-install Mario Odyssey on the Japanese and American eshops right now. Currently not on the EU one just yet though.

As some of you know, a lot of people are leaving Negaf and one of the posters left this as one of their final messages: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1454191 I normally wouldn't post something like this but this person was one of the more level headed posters over there and pretty reliable. Of course, its all just rumour lol

The site is back up, complete with Evilores statement: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1452075

This is how I'm seeing it too. This story doesn't really seem to add up if she later went onto have a relationship with him afterwards. What I still can't figure out is why a random FB post caused all of this. Why did the mods all stand down now when just a few months ago, they were all being told to lock and delete any mention of Amirox and pretend that they all had no idea who he was and sweep under the rug that one of the major mods of Neogaf had been arrested for owning child porn? Why did none of them call Evilore out and stand down then?

I saw a commercial for Mario Odyssey today in the morning (between an episode of Frasier ), it's pretty much a shortened version of the music video thing they uploaded on youtube last week, which is awesome

I thought this warranted its own thread, there is a new Firmware update for the Switch which features: Video capture for select games New profile icons featuring characters from the Super Mario Odyssey™ game and The Legend of Zelda™: Breath of the Wild game Transfer user profiles and save data to another system Pre-purchase option is available for certain games on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch https://www.nintendo.com/switch/system-update/ Video capture: To capture video, hold down the Capture Button during gameplay Up to maximum of the previous 30 seconds will be saved in the Album. You can trim the beginning and end of each clip, and post to Facebook and Twitter. As of October 18th, 2017, this feature is compatible with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2

They have added a 'Current Offers' tab to the eshop, which is handy:

I love that so much

I had the opposite experience with the servers today and last night. Not a single disconnect or even any real latency issues. I think I won almost every single one of my matches to King apart from one. The only bad part to this Splatfest has been that again, far more people chose the same side, so most of my games where team front vs team front.

I never saw that one originally but I watched through it this morning by chance, its the first tape the guy I mentioned uploaded a few days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEbF-653nTU Funniest part for me is when a guy that couldn't possibly sound more bored, is talking about Nigel Mansell's World Championship for the snes, while they slide repeated blue tinted video of him from right to left at the bottom ( around the 8:11 mark )

Chris Scullion ( a games journalist that used to work for CVG and Nintendo official magazine) has started a project to digitise the various VHS tapes that came out in they 90's to promote video games. Although a lot of these have been uploaded to youtube already, they're not in the best quality so he's gone out of his way to get the best he can out of these old tapes. He also uploads a video straight after with a commentary by himself where he talks about the interesting things you see in the background, such as pointing out things that changed between what we are seeing on the tape and final game and other details. I find it very interesting as I had most of the tapes he is converting and in the case of the Nintendo ones, I would rewatch them over and over again when I was looking forward to a particular game. I probably watched the Donkey Kong Country tape 100 times leading up to Christmas 1994. Another thing I found out recently this year (and Chris mentions this on the commentary version) is that the American version of this tape had an extra scene teasing Killer Instinct for the snes at the end, which you can see here; https://youtu.be/Rv_YCSbWP78?t=12m40s I think its pretty cool someone is doing this and its kind great seeing how games were promoted in the 90's compared to today.

Colors! 3D - THE DS homebrew application comes to the eStore
Helmsly replied to Burny's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I did a very quick trace of The Monarch from Venture Bros today and thought I'd share it. http://colorslive.com/details/3893871 This is a long shot here, but do any of you who happen to still use this app play it on the New 3DS Xl? I'm still using the original 3DS and was thinking about upgrading, but I can't seem to find out if this game is compatible with the new models, due to its larger screen size -
Konami have announced a Grand Prix mode, a new rule called Crystal and new characters from Zone of the Enders and Rumble Rose are coming to this game:

Heard the news a few hours ago that Bobby Heenan had passed away. He was hugely entertaining and probably the main reason I was a wrestling fan as a kid, as he made every match entertaining to sit through with his commentary. For example the entire Royal Rumble match in 1992, or when HBK kicked Marty Jannetty through the barbershop window: " Jenetty tried to dive though the window to escape!" Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon where fantastic on commentary just for pure entertainment value. RIP

Any word on if this game runs better on the 'New' 3DS models? I'm still rocking the original 3DS so I might upgrade before buying this -

H-o-T Topic: Has the lack of Virtual Console hurt the Switch?
Helmsly replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Great topic @Hero-of-Time. I don't think the lack of Virtual Console so far has hurt the switch. I've been recently thinking about how much of a draw playing old games really is these days, as the generations that grew up playing the are getting older and have had access to re-buying these classics on the two previous Nintendo consoles since 2006. On the flip side of course, the NES and Snes mini both sold out so maybe I'm wrong about the pulling power these games have, but I know for myself, I'm not really interested in buying anymore NES, SNES or N64 games again because I've bought all the ones I want and have ready access to them. I much prefer that instead of playing Sonic the hedgehog 1, I'm playing Sonic Mania or as you mentioned in your post, Blaster Master Zero instead of the NES original . I'm not against those originals being available for the switch but I am finding myself caring less about replaying/rebuying older games. Even if Gamecube games were to make it to the VC this time around, I don't think I would buy anything beyond Paper Mario 2. I'd much prefer a remake in the vein of Wind Waker HD when it comes to stuff like Mario Sunshine. So lack of VC hasn't bothered me at all. -
I watched a Quick look of Sexy Brutale on giantbomb a few weeks back and that game looked great, I'd be sure to pick that up on switch.

Off the back of the SNES mini having continued production in 2018, the NES mini will also be back in stock next year:
