yeah i played for the past hour and everything was Ketchup vs Ketchup apart from two games. Annoyingly, the two normal games I had both ended in disconnects. Also, I've been playing since 12pm and hadn't had any issues with connections at all until the Splatfest started

Closest match I've had so far lol

Yeah I feel the same way, since its one code and I think its easier to add someone to your friends list this way then to search for them by name. For example my username on Steam is Ego. If someone was to search for me using their search feature, it brings up 16,252 users with that name. Thankfully with Steam I can just copy and paste the URL of my profile here so someone can just click "add friend" and Nintendo should do the same by having a profile page on the Nitnendo site. I don't mind Friend codes though, its just a simple code you punch in to instantly find the person you want to add.

Yeah there should be at least some form of communication on the OS level for people on your friends list. I find it pretty shocking that I can't drop someone a simple message when they're online to set up a game. Especially considering that was an option on Wii U. There isn't even an option to send an automated invite to a game either.

yeah I went from profreshional to over-achiever because of the weapon selection. Just like you said in your other post, some other weapons are terrible for this mode. Anything with limited fire rate makes it very difficult to get out of a situation where you are surrounded by small enemies. I think at the very least they should let you select which weapon you want to use from the 4, I know I do a lot better with rapid fire weapons in this mode. On a side note, it seems Salmon run's are live for much longer now, the time table shows them lasting for 24 hours.

Splatfest voting has started and they just added a new weapon to the shop, 'Dualie Squelchers' .

Retro City Rampage DX is on the eshop August 3rd, $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.99

I believe they patched the infinite meal ticket exploit too, which was to be expected.

Yeah I'm not saying sticks are better then motion control but that guy in that video is pretty bad with analog sticks. Like Dazzybee said, its about preference. I did pretty well for myself in Splatoon 1 using the analog sticks and seem to be doing ok so far using the same controls in Splatoon 2.

There's a Demo for Rayman Legends the Definitive edition available in the EU eshop now

These are pretty much the same thoughts I have on the game so far too (I also just hit level 15). Especially "Nice" being changed to "Booyah!" lol One other minor thing to add, I miss the original Inkopolis plaza from the first game. The new Inkopolis square seems too narrow and and cramped compared to the original plaza.

That's around 3am UK time tonight

I have been playing this for a few hours now and I feel like its just as good as the first game. Turf wars are fun and it seems that your team can make a come back a little closer to the end then they could in the first game. Other then that it pretty much feels the same to me but with some new maps. I also played a bit of Salmon run just now too and that's also lot of great. My only dislike with that mode is that it randomly assigns you a weapon before each wave. Being that I am useless with a Sniper Rifle, i normally do badly whenever I get that, but outside of that, I think i might end up playing this mode more then the others.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. As an optional thing it would be great. But having it as the only way and then having all of these other issues with the app makes the whole thing seem terrible. It is ridiculous that you cannot send a message to someone on your friends list within the Switch it self for a simple invite to play something.

Not being able to send someone a message through the console itself seems baffling to me. It's kind of a basic feature that even the Wii U has. I should be able to see my friends list, see who's online and then send someone a message asking if they want a game of Splatoon/Mario Kart or whatever. I really don't understand why something like that isn't on the console when they already have two online games out. Hopefully it'll come in a future firmware update and not be something on their app.

reviews should start coming in from now

By coincidence I was thinking about this today and was having similar thoughts to @nekunando. The more I think about it, it was a knee-jerk purchase that I really don't need. Of the 21 games on this device that i like, I still have them on my SNES or I have them on Wii or Wii U virtual console, so I have access to a lot of these titles already. In most cases I have played them faily recently too. So really this boils down to being able to play Star Fox 2 for £80 lol. All that said, I think if they had a few more games on it like Mario All-Stars and Chrono Trigger, i would probably not be having second thoughts.

I played for the entire length of the Splatfest and made it to King It's taking some getting use to with the Switch's analog sticks, because I am so used to the Wii U gamepad. A few other grumbles, I feel like i ran out of Ink very quickly compared to the first game and it took longer to refill, but I'm guessing that's because the gear we were all using didn't have any ability's to improve that stuff. Other then that I enjoyed it, but probably didn't have as much fun as I did in the first game.

I enjoyed Retro City Ransom so I'll probably pick this up

I 'd like everything from the first game makes it over to Splatoon 2. Maps, weapons and gear etc
-
Pretty cool its coming to Switch although I can't say I've enjoyed any games from that series since Smackdown vs Raw 2006. WWE All Stars on the other hand, was probably the best wrestling game with the WWE licence in the past decade. I'd love a sequel to that to happen one day.

Yeah, i knew about the different screens and why a Wii U stylus doesn't work on the switch's screen or a smartphone screen etc. I'd forgotten that they made pens for devices with capacitive screens though and chances are I'll get one of those too if i can find a good one that works on the switch without scratching the screen. I say that because the Switch's screen is plastic and not glass like a smartphone or an ipad, so it could possibly be more prone to scratching then using it on one of those devices.
