  1. I really like the look of that GAME bundle and my hype levels for this game have risen loads with all the recent videos etc. I have no problems with GAME to be honest - think they're pretty good personally and I use them for trade ins loads which they're pretty good for! But the price of that seems a little high for what you're getting. I'll decide nearer to the time what I'm gonna buy as I still have one eye set on that Zelda 3ds...
  2. Just ordered the coin. Really like the look of it! Thanks for the heads up Dem0
  3. Sonic games always tend to range in score I've found. You get some reviewers who really enjoy the games, and accept the sometimes less than flowing controls due to the nature of the game (speed, pretty much instant precise jumps etc), whereas others just do not take to it. Whether or not that reflects in overall scores - or whether it actually does reflect in scores, I don't know. It would seem it does though. S.C.G's review is a really great read, and you can tell he loved the game. But he is a long time Sonic fan, so this game is going to appeal to him and he's gonna be used to the short comings you often expect in the Sonic games. The other reviews (that I've read) seem to focus on the games shortcomings a little more, and it sounds as if they may ruin the experience slightly too much to class it as a very good game. I appreciate that totally, and I am definitely going to listen to those reviews and hold off buying it for now. I know how annoying Sonic games like this can be and it is a little worrying at how many reviews have singled out the control problems. Having said that, I do really enjoy the Sonic games despite their issues - and I know I'd probably get just as much as enjoyment out of it as S.C.G has! But given the amount of games I've got backlogged at the minute, it's probably gonna be wise for me to hold out and pick it up later on when the price drops a bit!
  4. There's more low than high here though... I'm kinda glad I didn't have the money for it now!! Definitely gonna pass this one up and wait for the inevitable new year price drop. How disappointing.
  5. Dragons are a bitch to take down. Although the new fairy type goes a way to change that. Previously it was only really Ice type Pokemon that were effective against dragons, and not many people use Ice Pokemon in their team set up. Dragon Pokemon are generally very strong though, so it may be an idea to look into adding one to your team if you see one you like the look of!
  6. I have 5 gym badges and am 24 hours or so in. My team are: Mr. Mime - Level 40. He is a BEAST now he's also a fairy... Hawlucha - Level 40. Also a beast Gogoat - Level 40. Probably my favourite new 'mon. Heliolisk - Level 40. On shaky ground this one. Could be binned - but its Dry Skin ability is pretty amazing. Loving it!
  7. As previously advised by someone else, it should be live at 00:01 or around that time.
  8. Ooh I love me some shiney Pokemon RedShell! I've only ever caught a shiny Paras on leaf green and a shiny Ponyta on soul silver! Would love to find one on X!!
  9. I did speak to her yeah. But at the time it didn't seem like it was going to be worth my time :p - had I have known that it would have been a pretty key part to progressing I'd have maybe done more. But even then, I wouldn't have gone out of my way to find the pendants. I guess there's an advantage for those who've played the original - they know to look for pendants!! Thanks for advice on how to get more though.
  10. So having been distracted by Pokemon for a short time, I booted this back up again today to make some further progress! And now, I'm finding myself despairing a little bit. Being pretty close to the end, and having loved what I've played so far, I was really hoping to end the game on a hugely positive note as it's been so good to play through. And then I began the fuckin TRIFORCE SHARD FIASCO. Way to ruin the game! I mean, it's all well and good searching for charts - then paying Tingle (the robbin twat) a load of rupees to decipher them - then finding the damn shards... Only, it's not quite that simple! First shard I go for, I need some form of deeds into a house. Fair enough, I'll go get em. But no. I have to round some kids up, then talk to her, then do something else, then talk to her again with some jewel she likes, only for the greedy bitch to want 20 of them! Well, I've only got 9 love... soooo. Where am I going to find another 11 of these things from? I mean seriously, this sucks. It's this kind of thing that usually defeats me, and I know it's ridiculous as I'm so close to the end, but come on - 20 jewel pendants? It's not as if they're easy to find, or you can just obtain a large number of them at one time. I've spent close to 25 hours on this game, and done a lot of exploration. Not as much as I could, and clearly should have done, but I almost feel like it's a bit of an impossible task. Unless someone knows a way to get them easily?! Frustrating. Maybe if I go and get the others (providing they don't require such ridiculous steps in order to do so), it will spur me on for that last one. That's the only thing stopping me from throwing the towel in right now!
  11. Lol - did I slate it that much?! It's not a crap system by any means, but I couldn't really recommend it to anyone other than younger gamers - as it's meant for. I'm glad I got one though and had a hands on properly! Otherwise it would have always bugged me not knowing what it was like - and no one I know was gonna get one for me to test! My hunt for a replacement 3ds for my Peach model continues...
  12. I haven't ordered this - but I am going to pick it up at the weekend. It's purely because I won't have the money until the weekend to get it, but I NEED to finish Wind Waker before I even start this or I fear my run of not completing Zelda games will continue... I am excited for this though! And how nice is it to have a steady stream of quality games coming to the Wii U?! Good times indeed!
  13. I actually thought that as I found myself having so much fun dressing him up! *Downloads New style Boutique from eShop...*
  14. The battery is similar to the original 3ds model. It lasts sightly longer, but doesn't compete with the XL, which has a much better battery life than both. Do you own a 3ds at the moment? With you saying you want a bigger screen I assume you do, but I can only recommend going down the XL route if you have an original model. The 2ds screen just looks smaller because of thumb placement as I mentioned above - but I do feel in comparison to my 3ds, the screens on the 2ds are no where near as bright or crisp. But Nintendo handheld screens have always been a bit of a lottery! The buttons weren't that good, but that's only because my 3ds buttons are great. My D Pad was mushy, but on my 3ds it's clicky, which gives much better feedback on use. The shoulder buttons were really nice too, but one of my buttons wasn't as good as the other! I think that may be down to cheap materials though, unfortunately! I hope this helps. I'm gonna whack mine on eBay soon but do feel a little sad about it as I like the concept a lot! Let us know what you decide to do anyway!
  15. I am loving the clothing change feature in this game! Check my dude out... Bang on trend...
  16. I am up for battling - but Christ not yet! I am literally still training my team up to get a decent move set and so they will evolve / get stronger! I know the battles automatically level your Pokemon to level 50, but a level 50 Pikachu who's only electric move is 'Charge' is gonna be doing no damage to anyone! When I actually get a team of 6 I'm happy with (4 so far!), and I've finished the main story, I'll start battling! And all you bitches need be ready...!
  17. So having spent a solid couple of hours with the 2ds I feel I can now give a better overview of the system and what I like and don't like about it. Firstly, I don't intend to keep the 2ds. I wanted to like it so much, but in the end it's just not suitable for me. The biggest thing is the lack of the 3d. I know that sounds a bit silly as that's kinda the whole purpose of it - but I like having the option of turning the 3d on in my games. Some games use the 3d feature brilliantly, and I know I'd miss it after a while if I used the 2ds. The button feedback. Mushy buttons suck major ass. And the D Pad on this as I mentioned before, is crap. And it's a big negative for me personally this one, as I have been using the D Pad a lot on my 3ds playing Pokemon (damn rollerskates!) but the one on the 2ds I have is terrible. I'd go as far as to say un-useable! The screen feels tiny. And I'm coming from an original 3ds! I know it's the same size, lol, but because of how the 2ds is held (up top, rather than down on the bottom screen as per the usual DS series), and your time is spent looking at the top screen, my thumbs are like literally surrounding the screen, which make it feel / appear even smaller than it is. God help anyone who goes from an XL to this thing! Not that many would be, mind! My only other gripes with it are the sleep switch, which I don't like at all. I know that Nintendo had to overcome the loss of flipping the lid shut, and this is honestly the best thing they could have done, but it doesn't feel great! I don't think the plastic casing / buttons / switches help much either to tell the truth. It loses a lot of it's premium feel through those things, which again are pretty obvious to say, but there's no escaping them at all when you're hands on with it. It's not all bad though! I like the start / select and home buttons! And this is the first 3ds (kinda) model that's got them right! The original 3ds model had that terrible row below the bottom screen, and the 3ds XL looked like it fixed that, but it still didn't feel like 3 individual buttons that could be pressed anywhere. The 2ds though, gets it spot on! Home button in particular is very nice! Umm, that's about it for the good points... Like I said, I wanted to like it, and when I pick it up I do quite enjoy the feel and how different it is - but when I actually use it for its intended purpose I feel it lacks so much. It's interesting then, where Nintendo go from here on to their next handheld. I wonder if the 2ds, along with its intended purpose was an experiment of sorts, to test the market with a non clam-shell, budget design to see how people reacted to it? I have to say, I like the form factor more than I first thought I would having been used to a flip lid design for so long. If Nintendo were to design their next handheld (obviously in a good few years time) in a similar way I wouldn't be put off by something similar to this at all. There's a lot that could be right with the 2ds if it were made from different materials, had a bigger screen and built on what's been set here. But for the 2ds as it is, pass it to the kids, and gimme my normal 3ds any day of the week!
  18. I'm just gonna throw this idea out there...
  19. Unless that Weegee one is green when opened - I'm out. Also, wasn't someone asking a while back (and more than once) whether anyone thought Ninty would release a Zelda themed XL? Wlel here it is! It looks good, but I don't think I'm crazy about that gold when it's open...
  20. I didn't mean blitzed through by play time. I meant with just one Pokemon knocking everything out. Like I say, we're all different in how we play the game and I would personally hate to end up having one really strong Pokemon that just owns everything in its path! But as I pointed out, I am a bit particular with how I play the game haha!
  21. Some pics - not great quality sorry as lighting wasn't good! Well what can I say... I'm not really feeling it at all. It's got a great weight to it - I think the weight goes some way to making it feel a little less cheap. Because everything else about it screams cheap. Holding it feels a bit awkward to me. Not uncomfortable, but not comfortable if you know what I mean? The shoulder buttons are nice - well, the left one is. The right doesn't feel as good and the feedback of the button press is mushed compared to the left side. The buttons themselves all feel fine. The D-Pad is the big disappointment here though. It's mushy. A mushy D-Pad is not enjoyable for anyone. Screens are like the normal 3DS model, if a little less white and crisp. The unfortunate thing for my testing is that I have no cartridge games apart from Pokemon! So I can't stick Mario Kart on and give that a whirl on it - which kinda sucks! I'm going to spend a bit more time with it tonight, but as it stands I have no intentions of switching to the 2DS. I want to like it, as I think it's pretty cool! But it's not blowing me away. I definitely think the black is the best colour after my initial taking to the white. The white just looks a little cheaper IMO. Anyway, I've just downloaded the RE: Revelations demo onto the system, and will take that for a spin on it. Will post some further thoughts later.
