    Ashley; those are great episodes! Season 1 and 2 were mostly average, but season 3 picks up a lot and pulls out quality fillers on top of the emerging storyline that still kicks a fair bit o' ass to this day. JonSt; I'll stick it on a list :P Currently on the last ep of Big Love Season 2, and I'm very surprised that I still tolerate Nikki :P She's a bit of a swine, but the show still manages to make me feel sympathetic for her somehow. Anyway, after that I'm checking out some Inbetweeners, Head Case and West Wing. Gonna give Better Off Ted another chance. e02 & e03 are out so I'll watch those then decide. Checking out Party Down, as well, because I have no idea what it's about! Oh and heck, I'll be giving Summer Heights a go too :P

    Unforgiven is an amazing, powerful film. I've always been very 'meh' towards westerns and, to some extent, Eastwood's lockjaw-style way of acting... and I remember my dad saying "here son, watch this! Even if you don't like westerns, you'll appreciate this." blah blah. You ever seen Last Man Standing? Western meets Noir meets Bruce Willis. Good film. Try West World for some western-meets-robots, too.

    Wow. Good post. I especially liked the bits about how the first mixtape stuff was so awesome (MTMU - awesome too) :P Sign me up. My music taste hasn't really changed at all in teh alst 5 years, let alone the last 9 months - I'l probably add some more dub-step this time round

    Supernatural. MY GOD an excellent episode. EXACTLY what filler TV should be like, though, of course, if filler TV were like this all the time then it would get old real fast BUT inter-dimensional, border-crossing, wall-breaking and writer-egotistical epsodes like this are precisely why anyone ever gets into any TV show. Like That buffy episode which as 75% silent, the Angel episode with muppets... or, more aptly, that x-files episode where a gay wrote about aliens, this episode helped define the show. Like that episode in s03 where dracula "actually existed". It was just.. cool. If you've not seen any of this season, then I urge you to watch this.

    Actually I met eevil once, and there were several distinctly un-gay individuals who outright REFUSED to bend to his will. So there. But of course I bent, and I will continue to bend for his sexiness. Purr!

    CTG: lolwtf you had me going there! I was all omg he has a brother wowowowo... Bastard. I just had a nice evening in with a wii, and shorty and nami. Been a while, and it was most excellent, despite me harping on about my ex-girlfriend (stiillll, jayseven, wtf?!) and getting some wise words of wisdom right back at me. Nami is up for our own personal book club (quick! Nobody mention the ne culture club...) so we ought to be buying three copies of a book tomorrow. I've generally been feeling super-fucking-happy all day. I've sung, I've danced, I've whistled and MOAR! Too happy. This isn't right. Something bad must be happening soon. LOVE YOU! Send it my way!     Thank you very much, Chuck Eloise was in season 3 wasn't she? Actually on the island? Or is that just my imagination? Charles has always fortified his views of the island being 'his'... I love the idea of him somehow being the good guy in all of this. Now that there's no more time-tripping, I guess we won't see any more young Widmore/Eloise, which could provide some answers. At one point I thought "ooh -- maybe the ben we know isn't the same ben at all.." but it's clear that instead Lost is going to treat the shooting as the thing that made the kid mentalcrazy. I'm never a fan of amnesia, either, so they best answer that with dignity. I think Alpert is rapidly growing to be my favourite character, too.

    Yeah, the catchphrase element just shows you that there are people who clearly don't get the movie for what it is - a great piece of journalism, if you ask me :P I don't think it's fair to criticise the film based on its fans. Borat was, to me, a surprise of a movie that was joyfully not cringeworthy.

    You know, I thought of you when I watched it. Seriously. The shakey-cam aspect was very Friday Night Lights. I think it is going to be good. I just hope the O.C. dude doesn't steal the show. I just looked up the dude you mentioned and he certainly has a lot of credentials to his name, so I guess the show is set to have several seasons worth of fun!

    Southland ... is my attempt to stay ahead of the curve! New show, with That Brooding Dude From The O.C., and That Dude Who Seems To Be In Everything, But I Can Never Quite Place Him as rookie cop and pr0 cop, respectively. It's a cop show, with officers and detectives on the streets of south LA, so there's the usual, and much-repeated, gang-banging and moider and guns and drugs and blah blah. There's a lot of no-talk, all-action stuff which makes the show feel all grown up. I would say the O.C. dude probably had about 10 lines through the whole show. While it's no Baltimore, the show promises realism with a quick script and a good array of characters that are worth getting to know, albeit with a bit of contrived plotting. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere just yet, but I'll give it some time. Worth checking out if you've got a gap in your TV schedule.

    It depends on allocation - I guess they try and give everyone what they want. Shared facilities aren't that bad at all, but if you really want your own loo then don't tick that box

    This post is a rambling scrunching of non-sequitor thoughts. I've never been a fan of Kate's 'story', and this episode didn't really change that. It was mostly filler between Linus getting shot and then getting taken to the temple, then seeing Locke. We've not seen Locke for ages so it was supposedly powerful - but I can't remember where we last saw old Ben -- Was it when Sun knocked him out? In a way, this season has gone back to season 2 quality, in the sense that the pacing corrupts the actual action that IS going on. Sure, they have time travel to counteract any argument about this... But what ABOUT Sun? How's she doing? Why did we take so long to get back to Locke? Where'd sayid go? Where IS claire? What about the other, new crashed 'survivors' in our actual present? What the blinking heck is faraday up to, and where's Alfonso or whatever that Doctor's name is -- he was on the island when Kate and co arrived but where is he? Lost is always about teh questions, I won't deny that, but season 4 and the first 9 eps of season 5 at least answered a lot of older questions. I still love the show, so perhaps it was just because we've had two 'filler' stories in a row - sayid then kate. The Hurley stories are comical at least, and the sawyer ones have drive, but really we're after Locke/Ben/Jack -- That's the crux of this island mystery. I do think Jack'll get another 'calling' to be a leader again at some point, and I still think the two skeletons that were found in the caves with the alchemist's stones will be important... What I love about the show is how Alpert hasn't ever really seemed like a main character - I do wonder at what point the creators decided to have him as a focal point. Did some dude say to him something about Charles? Charles Widmore? Did I mishear that? It was as young ben linus was being handed over. Ok I think that about covers my nonsense.

    All-night bender from pub to mate's house. Met a guy called "Crazy Tom" who... is definitely crazy. Did some fire stuff, came home to an immensely clean flat. I've only just remembered that one of the flatties has a parental visitation today. The temptation to cook in the nude is overwhelming. THEY HID MY ASHTRAY! In my drunken state last night/5am this morning, I couldn't find it for ages. So today I nurse my hangover, perhaps with some dog hair. LOL I READ IT! ... I hate twitter. not been on there in weeks. DWP? *shrugs* Congratz on leaving the voluntary thing. Spoke to nightwolf last night - she said she's got a 'volunteering' job that's paying her £7 p/h! wtf! I picked up an application form for wetherspoons, and Andy is seriously making me a chef. More wtf's. If it keeps happening... watch out! A few years ago my dad would have spontanious, sporadic and spmental nosebleeds. Like, copious amounts of blood would start pouring out of his nose. It turned out to be a polyp in his nose (wiki for ew pictures) that basically needed burning... So, uh... if it keeps happening then... get it checked! It's not fun.

    Haha! That looks great. I loved borat, and I'm really pleased he's relying less on Ali G, too. Totally going to see this at the cinema when it's out.
