    [2 of 4] I understand this, which is why I said that we're dealing with how we proceed with thrips from now on. Permission will be asked. But because mokong did clarify his lack of offense, I feel no need to apologise to him. And because I cannot change what has happened in teh past, I would ask you to tell me exactly what it is that is the problem here, and what solution there is.

     

    I can tell you why it happened in the first place.

     

    I made an award thread for most successful user IRL. Mokong was voted for, for his family development over the year. The matter of the subjectiity of the title was raised, then focus was shifted towards whether having children counted as success. Several people argued with this claim, some choosing to focus on the argument's victimising of Mokong.

    I thripped it, while Mokong was writing his lengthy reply. The argument was sustained, then the thrip was realised, then people took offense to the thrip - people who were not involved in the thrip. People who took offense for reasons they won't clarify beyond what I presume to be that they are fearful of their freedom on this forum.

     

    My reasoning was, and is, that mokong is an experienced admin of this site, one who has gladly shared his entire life so far on the forums with vids and pics. He is not the sort of person who is worried that something he has posted on an internet forum available for the whole world to see will suddenly be moved to... the same internet forum available for the whole world to see. He is a logical enough person to see that the context is not lost at all, and as an admin he would understand why the posts may need to be moved.

    If you have a personal issue with the way I mod then please say so. The fact is that the majority of my modding is unknown. If you are just looking for something to complain about then feel free. I'm frankly a little pissed off in general at how people fly off the handle about things, especially when it's things that genuinely have nothing to do with them, and when all parties actually directly involved are totally fine with it.

     

    If the title was "argument moved from other thread because it was going Off Topic," would there have been a problem? Genuine question.

     

    This is a message to you because, again, the thread is going off topic and you refused to take my advice and take it to PMs so I thought I'd take it to plublic message myself.

    I think it's bizarre that you think people view women in this way. You shouldn't take offense or feel wrong because someone may assume you want to have kids. That is the default assumption. Live with it. If they say "you might change your mind when you're older" they're simply stating a rational and possible eventuality. If you're reacting so heatedly about it then it's you that isn't comfortable about the idea. I want kids one day, but one day I may not want kids. *shrug*

    Whenever I cook I imagine I'm a TV chef, telling the world why I'm adding a bit of paprika and how to judge when you've chopped enough onions. I will be audible if my girlfriend is in teh room. I also walk down the street and imagine what it'd be like to be hit in the face by a baseball bat. Quite a lot. it's one of my milder psychotic thoughts. I've physically flinched a few times. When I was a kid I used to try and repeat what the newsreader was saying at exactly the same time that they were saying it. It amused my sister a lot.

    If you have an issue with the thrip and are unable to actually contribute to the thread's topic - or perhaps unable to get past all the long posts and just want to have a whine at me, then you can just PM me. We're sorting out our thripping policy backstage. Mokong's fine with the thrip, so surely that's all that matters in this instance.

    Dan-likes-trees - I totally know what you mean. Horrible, horrible stuff. I still kinda forced myself to try a few times more, and eventually I was able to control the paranoia -- become an 'overseer' to the reaction and calm myself. Hash is a lot easier going on the mind - but I'd totally agree, it's more about the people you're with than the elevation. You kinda get used to it. Luckily it's not addictive!

    Yeah, nearest the new testament has to say is "turn the other cheek" :P ReZ; I never refused to vote for Paj! I've still not ruled him out in the slightest. You asked me to kill Paj, you claimed you had to order someone, then you claimed you chose to kill Paj. You also claim that you had a day power that allowed you do... what, exactly?

    OMG GRASS FUCK YEAH!! Oh wait... Yeah I used to smoke a lot of weed. I drew crazy pictures and wrote crazy poems and had crazy ideas and conversations with crazy friends. Sooo many fun memories... Then i got mega paranoid at a large music festival and went insane for a couple of days. I'll smoke some occasionally, but only if I feel utterly safe and that I trust the people I'm with. My deafness and blindness makes paranoia creep in real easy. Your mates probably noticed because of what you were saying. It's a chill drug.

    Jimbob; Heathrow's currently closed 'til 4pm clearing the snow. No flights 'til 5pm. My dad's got a flight at 9pm or something and he has no choice but to head to the airport in an hour and just have a boring, stressful day waiting around.

    It depends. If the fearsome lady is mafia then they may've considered sending me to kill one of their own, knowing morally I'd rather face the consequences than kill. It's a bit of a stretch, but it does mean that it cannot categorically be said paj is town, though perhaps he is likely to be. Similarly, we cannot be sure that ReZ is the only person to target me.

    Snow/rain was so heavy it woke me up! Only a mild sprinkling on the ground, but it's quite icy round here. Hoping my dad gets to the airport and his flight leaves ok so I can have a free house for a few weeks!

    You shouldn't hate yourself for someone else's mistakes. Sounds like you've built some foundations with the talk you had with her. All is not lost, it's just going to take a bit longer to set in motion. But well done for overcoming the supershy without the aid of alcohol!! No mean feat.

    Well I'm pretty much the nicest number 8 you'll meet, bro. Yep - I'm a cylon, and I defected before the order - I'm a colonial sympathiser. I figure whoever the fearsome woman is, she can order her target to kill someone, provided her target is a cylon. Unless we know who the fearsome, I advise we ignore this situation and just note it. I'm not killing Paj, so I'm expecting to be punished in some way, perhaps even death.

    I believe I'm the defected woman in the write up. The fearsome woman ordered me to kill Paj during the day phase, or face serious consequences. I've decided to face serious consequenses instead.
