Thanks for the games. Great theme night, would play again, We even got some X2 characters, with the same colour, even though it's not random, which is always fun. Plenty of great moments, some "well, that happened!" and some really good matches overall. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (27/05/2023) - - - - -

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on the Nintendo GameCube still has the best dialogue for the Psycho Mantis fight... I doubt this will be topped, as it's an example of a remake made at the right time, likely never to be repeated. For many, this was the first version of MGS that they would have played, and completed. And while it's good to see the series getting remastered or re-released, I'm grateful for The Twin Snakes. I'm guessing that because it's in two volumes, the first would be MGS, 2, & 3... while the second will likely be MGS 4, 5 and possibly the inbetween games/oddities or maybe not. Definitely the fourth game though, as I don't seem to recall that ever getting re-released on anything other than the PS3.

Analogue Duo is available for pre-order now... @Dcubed I'm guessing you're still intending to pre-order? It seems to work out at around £270 after shipping etc... which is still a lot cheaper than buying an original PC Engine, plus CD unit etc, plus it's a moden FPGA system, which should last a very long time, and supports all accessories, original or modern.

Thanks for the games. Some great matches all round, a few X2 same character matches, and more than a few 'Toon LInk' moments... including one actually featuring Toon LInk. My personal highlight has to be the Wario Sudden Death Bike K-O against Dark Samus at the 01:22:50 mark. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
S.C.G replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
New Game Boy Advance titles added to Nintendo Switch Online May 2023 Now up on the main page. - - - - - These are interesting ports of the original NES/SNES games, the first title is well worth playing if you've never played Super Mario Bros. 2... the port of Super Mario World has extra content, but it's down to preference as to whether you'd choose this version or the original, and the same with Yoshi's Island, as it has extra content, but probably a few differences between it and the original SNES release. Still, good to have some new GBA games on the service, which means Kirby should be the next GBA game to be released... some time within the next month or two. -

Nintendo eShop new releases (week 19) The nineteenth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Thanks to @Josh64 for the recently posted articles, which include... Nintendo Switch Has Sold Over 125 Million Units, Nintendo Warns Loss of Momentum Sonic Frontiers Becomes Best Selling 3D Sonic Game Ever A late posting for the eShop news this past week, I'm sure some big game just got released... Ah well, onto next week soon enough.

Thanks for the games. Only just got around to posting the highlights here. There were definitely a few good double matches, I believe there was a triple as well, too many moments to timestamp. Check out the one hour five minute mark though for a Bob-omb K-O. Any other moments when anything relevant happens, will have time-stamped chat on the stream just after it happened, though it doesn't alwasy appear in highlights. Worth skimming through though, for some amusing moments. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (13/05/2023) - - - - -

4444 if anyone wanted to join...
-
Are you sure? I just checked the replays earlier, it seems to be three minute time limit for Stamina... I'm setting up now anyway.
-
Right... Stamina matches, tonight at 8pm. (until 10pm) (Just putting this here for reference later, for when I hopefully create the ruleset(s) in advance...) Stamina matches, *All items enabled, Item Frequency Low, *All stages enabled, Time Limit 3 mins. Stock matches 3 Stock, *All items enabled, Item Frequency Low *All stages enabled, Time Limit 10 mins. *No Flag item, *No Palutena's Temple (Large) If I create those two separate rulesets, then that should cover any general Saturday Smash night which doesn't have a theme.

@Glen-i thanks for letting us know, and all the best with the real life stuff. I could host the room this week... unless anyone else wanted to. Just let me know what settings, but as far as I'm aware, if we're carrying on the same pattern, then it'll just be a case of... Stamina matches, All items enabled, All stages enabled... "Insert title here" no password, friends only... start at 8pm. shut down the arena close to 10pm... I think that's it? I'm assuming that we might at least get @BowserBasher and @Ike joining this week still, so I'm happy to host and stream the gameplay as usual.
-
Hmm, OK well assuming @BowserBasher is playing this week... on his profile he hasn't been on the forums today... maybe he got Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom early? Or might just be avoiding spoilers... Ah well, we shall see, but I'll see if I can get on a bit earlier, set the stream up, if it gets to 19:55 and BowserBasher isn't on, then I can host. 150 CC, All Vehicles, CPU on and... custom items set to Lightning bolts and Blue Shells only... right? - - - - - Updated - 19:25 - OK, it looks like I'm hosting then, I should have the room open, half an hour from... now! 150cc Grand Prix, No Teams, Normal items, CPU (possibly), All Vehicles, 4 races... 19:55 room opening time. It'll be interesting in the Discord chat this week then if no one else is in there... Me - "Blue Shell" ... Me - "Well, don't say I didn't warn you!" Annnd BowserBasher is here! Wahey! I'll join the room in a few minutes.
-
I got an e-mail update from ShopTo, my copy was dispatched at 9pm, yesterday. So it could arrive today, or Friday... either way, I probably won't play it until the evening of whatever day it arrives. At least it's on the way through.
-
Thanks for the games. Too many double to list, and even a match of double doubles... Some rather inventive K-O's as well, plus more than a few 'Toon Link' exits. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (06/05/2023) - - - - -

Nintendo Treehouse Live for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom announced Now up on the main page. This is to coincide with with the US launch time of the game. So the UK time for this is... 02:45am on Thursday May 11th, 2023... We'll erm... have a roundup article up at some point during the day. (probably) Unless I'm playing the game by that point, we'll see... It might arrive early...

Yes, I believe so, I'd need to check all the footage again though, there were definitely a few one on one Sudden Death matches as well, but that one stood out, as I was surprised as everyone else... "Wait... that worked?!?" while the one on one where I was playing as Joker, that was pure Rock, Paper Scissors... and luck, as I don't know that characters moveset, I just tried a button combo. Some great matches though, also... getting blue Banjo twice in a row? It's as if the random generator was subtly saying "Nope... try again!"
