  1. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 25) The twenty-fifth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Thanks to @Josh64 for the recently posted article... Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster - Release Date Trailer A quiet week for general news, but we have just had a Nintendo Direct so it balances out.
  2. They only showed three new characters, so there's two character slots left... meaning there's still hope for Poochy yet. I mean... he's in Tour, so... it's almost agiven at this point, surely. As for the last character slot... it's obvious, isn't it? It's Wart time! Right @markderoos ?
  3. I believe Nintendo did the same last year. Vague release window in the Direct, with one track announced plus character(s), then a trailer drop with all the track details when the pack is only a week or so away. There's still hope for Airship Fortress yet.
  4. Ah, it seems that it was only mentioned in one of the regional Direct videos, it got a mention in the UK stream, I was watching the US stream, as it's the first link I found. Still, good to have the confirmation, all four Pikmin games available physically on one platform.
  5. Oh good, both Pikmin games are getting a physical release, I did wonder about that, as it didn't seem to be mentioned in the Direct. Having said that, I did sell Pikmin 3, as I didn't really play it, and I don't own the GC originals any more, but if I did decide to get back into Pikmin, then I'd buy them on the Switch. It's a great series, I just didn't play the games much after the first game, but being that Pikmin 4 seems to be more like the first game... it's tempting. That first game though, felt like it took the right amount of time to complete, well worth playing, while the second game certainly offers more for your money.
  6. Fifteen years since the Wii release, eight years since the Wii U, and six years since the SNES Classic. There have been ways to play it for a while now, but it'll be good to see a remake released on the Switch. This probably means we won't see the original Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch Online SNES application, or if we do, it will be one of the last games to be included. Got to give the remake a good few years of sales, of course. It looks like a solid remake though, from the trailer, so it should do well.
  7. Nintendo Direct 21/06/2023 Roundup Now up on the main page. Formatted press release, and video embed. - - - - - Well, no F-Zero but plenty of decent Mario titles. Nice to see a new Wario Ware game, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection is nice to see on the Switch. (RIP Twin Snakes) The new footage of Sonic Superstars looked great, as did Penny's Big Breakaway which should prove interesting, being that it's a 3D platformer from Sonic Mania developers. Now the Switch finally has Vampire Survivors as well which should prove to be a popular eShop title. Overall, a pretty decent showing, nice to see a load of remakes and rereleases as well, though Pikmin 1&2 could do with a physical release, in addition to the digital versions.
  8. Nintendo Direct to be broadcast on 21/06/2023 Now up on the main page. - - - - - Seeing as it was rumoured... F-Zero GX HD Remaster, with online, either shadow drop, or by the end of October, as that will be in time for the Twentieth anniversary of the games release in Europe.
  9. Thanks for the games. Well, the theme with its limited character roster ended up working out really well, with each character almost getting two showings, plus each Mii variation. Speaking of which, it had been so long that I had picked a Mii, I'd forgotten the three that I'd made... SAMus (Mii Gunner) SAMurai (Mii Sword Fighter) and Super SAM (Mii Brawler). The battles turned out better than expected, plus it almost made up for not having Samus as a playable character this week. A fair few X2 matches, and even one X3 at least... but alas, no secret Star Fix taunt. (Can't let you do that, Star Fox!) Edit - Oh yeah... and the X2 Falco VS X2 Olimar (well Olimar and Alph) was a highlight, at around the 01:25.00 mark, worth checking out. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (17/06/2023) - - - - -
  10. The title for the Smash room could be... "Glen, you sure about that?" (character limit permitting) See you all online at 8pm.
  11. Fire Emblem added to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack June 2023 Now up on the main page. - - - - - An excellent addition to the GBA lineup, probably one of the more enjoyable traditional Fire Emblem games in the series. Plus, it's nice to be able to actually see it on a choice of either a decently lit portable screen, or on a TV, as these type of games really do need increased visibility. Also, it's good that this game is more accesible now as well, as I'm sure the price of the original GBA cartridge and/or the boxed game must be somewhat pricey now.
  12. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 24) The twenty-fourth week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Thanks to @Josh64 for the recently posted articles, which include... Smushi Come Home – Launch Trailer TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge - Dimension Shellshock DLC | Reveal Trailer Switch Sales up 39% In Europe Circuit Superstars Launches June 21st Persona 5 Tactica Coming to Nintendo Switch Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy - Announcement Trailer Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Demo Available Now The Lara Croft Collection Coming to Nintendo Switch Plenty of news this week.
  13. Thanks for the games. Some close races, I was quite pleased with how the Kalimari Desert and Mount Wario races went. There were some nice throws with the shells, bananas and bombs too. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Get Together! (15/06/2023)
  14. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 23) The twenty-third week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Thanks to @Josh64 for the recently posted articles, which include... New Nintendo titles added to Nintendo Switch Online June 2023 Connect Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Pokémon Home for Special Gift! Pikmin 4 Introduces Character Creator! Sonic Superstars announced for Switch Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown announced for Switch Pretty good week.
  15. Thanks for the games. Some great mtaches overall, and we had more than a few X2 character match-ups, many of them with the same fighter colours. The highlight has to be the X4 Sephiroth match though, all the same, and on one of the largest stages. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (10/06/2023) - - - - -
  16. Remember that time when I naturally assumed that Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe would have online multiplayer? Yeah... exactly the same thing here, I naturally thought that this would have online multiplayer by default. Then again... if it's too challenging for the developers to get it working well for a platformer, online, then it's probably best not to include it. But still... drop-in, drop-out co-op... I thought online was almost certain for Sonic Superstars as it seemed like a natural fit, oh well. Edit... it's even in the press release, in the article, which I posted... I must have just read the word 'local' as 'online' and not even registered that it wouldn't have online play... it was early when I posted it.
  17. Time to bring this thread back... eBay voucher code... SUNNY15 15% off, £15 minimum spend, max £75 discount, ends on June 12th, selected sellers only. Can be used on Switch games, and other platforms, including pre-orders. I decided to get Sonic Origins Plus as the Game Collection Outlet have a few copies on all platforms, Switch version is £30.56 with 17 copies left. You could also use it on the recently announced Everybody 1-2 Switch! if you prefer, as the pre-order price is already cheap, with the code it's £21.21 exactly. Of course, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available, making it £48.41 which is reasonable now it's been out for a month and is still in demand. - - - - - Over on the NYXI site, the GameCube style Wizard controller is for sale again, this time not only in purple, but Black and Platinum colours as well. It's a pricey pad, as it's just over £50 after converting from dollars, but if you are ordering on the site for the first time, there's usually a voucher code. Also, if you're ordering £100 worth of controllers or accessories, and you're using Paypal, you can use the code PAYWITHPAYPAL for $10 off which should be £7.97 off. Here's the link in case anyone was considering buying a controller. I've been using the Wizard pad for a while now, it has been great for Mario Kart 8 DX and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  18. Oh yeah, definitely. I was just comparing it to the original, in case there's anyone who only has the original game as a frame of reference... which is, unlikely but possible. This new game going for a Metroidvania style is probably what the series needs at this point. But if anyone has only played the modern Prince of Persia games, I'd say it's still worth checking out the original, if only to see how much the series has changed... ...mostly for the better. The fall deaths in the original Prince of Persia are still hilarious though, especially when you accidentally land on a floor switch at the same time. Here's a compilation from the original 1989 release, the Mega CD version is more amusing, but I can't find a compilation without music played over the top of it...
  19. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown announced for Switch Now up on the main page. Overview and trailer. - - - - - I still remember playing the original Prince of Persia on the Sega Mega-CD many years ago... Then there was the Sands of Time reboot on the GameCube... And... various other reboots since then. This latest title seems to take the basic idea of the original, but with more of a focus on retaining some of the best bits of the modern games. Plus it seems to have more of a modern Metroidvania feel to it, rather than the deliberate, slow pace of the first game from decades ago.
  20. Sonic Superstars announced for Switch Now up on the main page. Overview and trailer. - - - - This looks fantastic, classic Sonic, with the generations aesthetic, plus the 'Mania' and 'Origins' feel to it with the multiple playable characters. The drop-in, drop-out co-op is really what sets this apart though, as this could work very well indeed. New emerald powers were touted as one of the features, which could prove to be either interesting, or more throwaway... Those wisp-type transformations look fun, for instance, though the 'Sonic summon' at the boss might be a bit overpowered, though we'll see how it plays out. Sonic has definitely needed something new in the 2D games, with Sonic Frontiers providing that for 3D Sonic, Sonic Superstars looks like it'll do the same, in its own way.
  21. Thanks for the games. Well that was interesting... the first time in a while that I've changed kart parts, that setup seemed slower initially, even on 200cc, but it soon picked up. Neo Bowser City was predictably a train-wreck, though speaking of trains, it was cool to see the predictability of the train on Kalimari Desert go off the rails in the extra GP. The tracks with the most traffic were easily the highlights of the evening, with some very close finishes. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Get Together! (08/06/2023)
  22. New Nintendo titles added to Nintendo Switch Online June 2023 Now up on the main page. - - - - - This marks the first worldwide release for Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble as it was never released in European gaming territories before. The tilt mechanism, was contained in a bespoke GBC cart, but now the same gameplay can be replicated on the Switch easily. For many, this will be the first time that they've had a chance to play this relatively obscure Kirby title.
  23. Nintendo eShop new releases (week 22) The twenty-second week of releases. A selection of new titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Check the article for the full roundup. - - - - - Thanks to @Josh64 for the recently posted articles, which include... Dragon Quest Monsters in Development for Nintendo Switch Play NBA 2K23 For Free With NSO Nintendo Switch eShop Shuts Down in Russia Everybody 1-2-Switch! Launches Later This Month New Switch Joy-Con Colours Release This Month Zelda Tops UK Charts for 4th Week We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie - Launch Trailer Things seem to be picking up again in the news department, with more news likely being that it's June, as E3 may be gone, but its spirit lives on.
  24. Thanks for the games. Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Saturday Smash! (03/06/2023) - - - - -
  25. Thanks for the games. Some great track choices this week. (you're welcome) Also worth mentioning, we had some communication errors near the end of the "first" GP... but we still for three full sets of races in. (Just skip forward once the stream gets to the 12 minute mark, about five or six minutes to get back to the races) Here's a link to this week's stream... - - - - - N-Europe Get Together! (01/06/2023)
