Tonight... it begins!

Yessssss! Give me full retail versions or give me death! Well... maybe not that but... I mean, I've reserved space on my PS4 Tower now so... please? Just some Resi 4 - 6 style simple re-releases will do. So, I should start playing Yakuza Zero pretty soon huh?

I'm still finding myself playing this for part of my Monster Hunter fix at the moment. In fact, I played it for a little bit before dinner earlier, still progressing with the 3* quests. The most interesting was the egg carrying quest, as I forgot that you could still carry an egg while climbing down vines. Twenty minutes to figure out the mechanics, two minutes to complete the quest after that... I totally beat down Astalos well before finishing the quest though.

I'm inclined to agree with Top Hat Gaming Man on this one, I've always found Chaotix to be very underrated. Although I am glad that I was lucky enough to pick up a copy years ago, I wouldn't fancy paying the asking price for it these days. Maybe one day it will get re-released in one form or another though.

Exactly, there are much better games you can get on the Switch for £35 or less which are family friendly. Why not get Super Mario Odyssey or Mario Kart 8 DX? Or if you're getting digital games as well then Sonic Mania is great fun, probably my most replayed game on Switch let alone other platforms.

"1-2 Switch is one of those games that you couldn't pay me to keep in my collection" There's a quote for you to put on the box when you print more copies of it, Nintendo. In fact, it amazes me that valuable game cards were sacrficed to give 1-2 Switch a physical release and meanwhile you have third parties not even using game cards at all for some games. Those game cards could have gone to a greater cause... like giving say Bayonetta, Resident Evil Revelations 2 or even ALL of the MegaMan Legacy Collections a proper physical release. So in summary, there are much better physical games you can buy instead of 1-2 Switch. I know a lot of the first-party physical games (and some third party) are expensive but, they are decent titles and most of the games seem to be holding their value. It's a good console to play games on and to build up a collection for.

I just loaded up the 3DS version as well, decided to advance the offline quests which... I'm only on 3* Quests it seems. Must have been all that relentlessly focused online play back when the game first came out. Anyway, I completed that hunting for Abyssal Mushrooms quest but I found hunting the Glavenus more entertaining... well, mildly. The thing could barely scratch me in my shiny Astalos armour but it was still fun to butcher it nonetheless. Then I just went about my mushroom gathering, struggled to find the camp, found it, delivered the items and that was that. Still fun to play, I'm still going to be playing Monster Hunter World and I'll still be buying Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate when it comes out on the Switch.

If they are your consoles, in your property then as far as I know, it should not be an issue if this is a genuine enquiry. Out of interest, if you do wish to sell, then you might actually get some buyers on this very forum. Start a thread in General Gaming (https://forum.n-europe.com/forum/11-general-gaming-discussion/) and what kind of prices you're after along with some pictures. At least that way, you might not even have to list anything on eBay or as much of it as you thought.

Definitely a mis-price. They cancelled all of the pre-orders. *sigh* Oh well, they did send apologies and code for £5 off your next online order so not a complete waste of time.

I wonder if Capcom will include basic voice chat again, just like it did with the Wii U version of MH3U? It was really odd because it was it was present in the Wii U version only, you could plug in any basic headset into the gamepad and it just worked while you were in-game. There could be a similar setup here as it could be the same on a technical level, just plug in a headset and it would work, just on this game and only while in-game. You'd still need to subscribe to Nintendo Online but if there was dedicated voice chat for MHGU at least then it would be something. There isn't any way in hell that I'm using a mobile app. And if there is no voice chat at all, then I'll still play but it certainly added something to my experiences with MH3U and MHW, so I would like it in some unofficial capacity please Capcom.

Absolutely, I'll be transferring my file over on day 1 to the Switch version, which is where it will be staying assuming the cloud save backup feature works as intended. We'll get you there within a week or so hopefully I reckon, especially when it comes to Astalos as @Glen-i mentioned, as he along with @Ugh first aid and @Dcubed make up the official ABC (Astalos Butchering Corporation) whose services you can rely upon to get the job done, so we'll surely take it in turns to get you to where you need to be. As for coming off playing Monster Hunter World... I appreciate the refinements which MHW has brought, for me a lot of the "controversial" changes really are quite minor as they are overwritten by the huge amounts of small improvements which really make a huge difference; besides... currently the way that the potion taking works now is that if you start taking a potion, a monster leaps at you and you dive before the animation is complete, you have effectively wasted a potion, so there is definitely still that element of risk/reward there which doesn't harm the game in the slightest. It will be interesting going back to Monster Hunter Generations... adjusting to those seperate loading locations, slower animations, frequent switching between hub worlds for little incentive. I'm sure it's not going to be that bad going back really, as I know what to expect... also what is most exciting is having the option to play on full screen again, as some of the assets from the 3DS game deserves to look better on a larger screen; hopefully we'll still have a decent number of HUD customisations as I like to play with as minimal amount of permenant on-screen elements as possible, especially as I'll know the maps inside-out by this point. Anyway, as a now seasoned Monster Hunter (which I count from MH3U and onwards since 2013) who plays and enjoys all of the series titles regardless of platform, I am looking forward to going backward with the Switch version kind of a back-handed compliment because it is the first game that you can play on the go and on the big screen on the same piece of hardware and still get a fantastic experience hopefully. Just don't cheap out on the game card size this time Capcom because I want to buy this in physical form with no significant downgrades.

Arlo, on point as always.

Can you help me finding an old 3D platformer?
S.C.G replied to Azalus's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well, I thought it was worth a shot. It's proven interesting for me too as I'm going through the CEX database, A-Z for each format, I'm usually on there anyway and it's good to see just how many platformers were released in addition to brushing up on any odd titles to look out for while I'm there. There were a few thousand PS2 titles to look through but, here's what I found @Azalus... **PS2*** An American Tail Animaniacs - The Great Edgar Hunt Anubis 2 Asterix & Obelix XXL Billy The Wizard Castleween Cocoto - Platform Jumper Coraline Countryside Bears Freak Out Gift Herdy Gerdy Kuri Kuri Mix Psychonauts Tak And The Power Of Juju Zapper - One Wicked Cricket I've still got the Xbox and GameCube categories to go through, but you've got a few to look through now at least. -

You're most welcome. It's a shame that it wasn't any of those but at least that's a few more down to cross off. Also, I noticed that in your list of consoles you have some games which could have been on GameCube or Xbox so I guess those are platforms to consider as well from the same era. Yes, nostalgia most certainly is great at times but deadly at other points in time. If I think of any other games, I'll be sure to post them here. -

Also... Donkey Kong 64 on the N64 just to throw that one out there as it doesn't seem to be on the list. Oh and Rocket Robot on Wheels can't forget that one. -

Hi @Azalus and welcome to N-Europe. I can sympathise with you wanting to find a game that you played during your childhood but just can't think of the name, it has happened to me a good few times over the years... the one which eluded me for a while was this side-scrolling shmup that I played on the Megadrive over at my late Grandparents neighbours house, which featured a really significant boss battle in a lava stage which featured a mutated angler fish and some of the greatest music I've ever heard in such a title. That game of course was Darius II... I know that now, but at the time, I couldn't think what it was, possibly due to it being an import copy I think. Anyway, back to your quest to find this 3D platforming type game, which I can see already has a rather large exclusion list of games you've already checked and I must commend you on the amount of research you've done as at least we have a lot to work with, so I will try to help you find out what this game is called. My first thought was Super Magnetic Neo as that one is kind of obscure, fitted the bill and I only realised what type of game it is very recently... but that's on the list. The only title I can think of right now is... Space Station Silicon Valley on the N64 purely because it's so odd and it doesn't seem to be in your list. It's a starting point at least.
