Aye, my Dad is one of these crazy strict ones. My Mum is old, but not crazy. She's a bit too old fashioned. So, I don't really talk to them much about relationship stuff, mainly because they're actually my grandparents so are a whole lot older. They're a bit outdated, if I'm honest. But then, so are the majority of Muslim parents/grandparents. Basically, do what I did and move awaaaaay. Move away, get sex/hugs on tap, and live a life as a King.

When I think of Nintendo, I imagine a wardrobe. They've pulled out some great things from there, but you always know that there are more things inside the wardrobe that could be pulled out at any time in the future. Take this E3 for example, seeing Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus and Kirby as well as a New Zelda was typical Nintendo. Who honestly was expecting a new Kirby to look like that or to have a continuation of DKC? The Wii has been excellent so far for me. Really enjoying it. Plus, I can take heart in the fact that there's a dozen or so great games out there that I don't own (MH3, Galaxy 2, NMH2), with more to come. I'm definitely enjoying it more than the Cube, possibly more than the Snes. Its third party games are better than those on the 64 (outside of Rare, the 64 didn't shine there). So, its probably my favourite console. And thats without all this Wiiware/VC stuff. I want to dabble in that, eventually.

I've been meaning to post in this, but been delaying it due to being lazy. - I love the smell of petrol. Take me to a petrol station. Could spend all day there. - Spending time in the shower, just letting the hot water fall onto my head or body. I sometimes spend lots of time thinking in there, its my comfort place. - When I'm at the gym, and I feel "the burn" when I'm exercising. I feel pumped with energy, and it can feel quite euphoric. - Drinking a nice cooold bottle of coke or a glass of cider. - Cooking with Ine. Especially the anticipation if something is in the oven, or when we're whisking something and we take it in turns. - Getting into bed and feeling tired. Feels very satisfying, as if you've worked hard or achieved something that day.

Roy will do a good job at Liverpool. I really like him, although I dislike Pool. So, for them it's good. For me, I'd rather he'd stick with Fulham. What does everyone think about Senor Silva going to Man City? Personally, I feel his talent should be gracing the Champions League. But then, Valencia needed the money.

Cmaaan, you can do better than that. Dan's one of Jay was brilliant. They've all been good actually. I knew the first one was about Coolness after the first line.

Happy Late Birthday, Dazz. Which one are you? Easy! The one with the facial hair. That narrows it down. There's one whitey in that group!

Hahaha, that really annoys me more than 95% of statuses I've seen. I'm not just picking on ReZ, because I've seen a ton of other people do it. But, what's the point? It's like voting for yourself, seems lame to me. Most of my Facebook people are fine, but there is this one person who stands out from the rest. Added her about two months ago: Old school friend, single Mum, two kids, no job as far as I can tell. She updates her status every two hours without fail, with stuff such as the following: " Is up gettin ready to take kady to nursery gt a busy day 2day in fact i gt a very busy wkend! x x" "Off to sleep nw nite all x x" " Finds it hÃlarious that ur the 1 that hasnt bothered wiv ur kids for 3 wks nw nt a phne call or txt to c how they r bt yet im the bad parent! yea rite x" " Best start shifting my arse and gettin sorted. cnt stop laughing at ieuan dancing to the music bless him and shoutin at the telly wen the songs finished! lmao x" To make matters worse, she is also one of these people who Likes their own statuses. Every single fucking one. She also has a cult following who Like her status with her. I've kept her for the entertainment factor. She's kinda like a living Lamebook.

I feel that way, too. I guess these days there's a lot more going on with these consoles and handhelds. Better technology, more expensive. In an ideal world, I wouldn't want to pay more than 230 for a home console and wouldn't pay more than 120/130 for a handheld. £99 for the DS was great. A new system, revolutionary like you say, and less than a hundred quid. More of that please. Sometimes people's attitudes to handheld gaming worries me. I see it as an alternative. I don't want to take a portable home console around with me. I want games that are designed for portable or handheld purposes, and they're usually pick up and play. Tetris is still what I think of as the pinacle of handheld gaming. It was pick up and play, but you could play for hours. Addictive. You could get into the game quickly, play, then turn it off later.

I know it's not a great source, but Wiki says that A New Hope was released as just "Star Wars." Then, The Empire Strikes Back was released with the number and subtitle. Then, after that, they went back (in 1981 apparantly) and added the episode 4 bit and subtitle to the first film. I think I got confused because I'm pretty sure some of the merchandise was just marketed as "The Empire Strikes Back" or "The Return of the Jedi." But yeah, I got my original stuff wrong, so I lose at life.

Hahahahaha. Tight buggers, aren't they? How long has it been now? Nearly 4 years? Good god!

Happy Birthday, McWolferson. Awoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm pretty sure they were just Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, until Lucas added the Eps bit onto it and changed Star Wars to A New Hope. I may have got that horribly wrong though. Yeah, I see what you mean with the Hobbit and with the Alien trilogy (although it's a quadrilogy as Resurrection was made about only 5 years or so after 3). Saying that, there were stories that they had planned to use more backstory in the original film, with a "pyramid" or temple that was going to be on the planet, where you'd see wall-paintings which would look at the history of the spacejockey and stuff. It was cut for running time purposes and probably because it would have required lots of money and time to do. I was glad they cut it though, it sounds a bit too Stargate-y for me.

I once had a big debate with a friend about Star Wars. He argued that Star Wars was the story of Anakin Skywalker. With the first three (1,2,3) looking at Anakin, and the last 3 (4,5,6) looking at Darth, with Luke challenging him. So, in essence, is it really two stories? I think of it as just one big story. Even the fact that the old trilogy has been re-numbered as 4,5,6 means that surely you also need to watch the three that precede it? Yeah, he's chosen to do it long afterwards, but if these new films are meant to be part of the official series, then it's not any different to what's happened to Star Wars. With new films coming before the older ones in terms of timeline. So, it's a continuation of the story, like starting it from a new point and joining it to where Alien starts. I'm a huge Alien fan, big fan of the series, so I'm just not overly keen on this. Alien is already a good starting point for the series. In short: Don't Fuck around with Alien! I will be absolutely heartbroken if it gets ruined like...*shudders*...The Phantom Menace.

Sure, you can ignore it by not watching it. But, you also can't ignore it because it's officially part of the series now. Hence why you can't really ignore the first three shitty (in numerical order) Star Wars films, why you can't ignore Terminator 3, and why you can't ignore Alien Resurrection. They're all part of the same series. It's the continuation of characters, the story and ideas. So, for example, you couldn't watch the first Lord of the Rings film, then ignore the second, and then watch the third. It doesn't keep with the series. Alien Versus Predator I could happily ignore. It's an entirely new series. Not joined on to the main one/s. Kinda like how Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are in no way related (except some basic details like the names of characters, a basic setting) to Batman Returns or Batman Forever. It's not a continuation of the series. It's a new series. So, in short, for this, I'd prefer if it was a new "series" or story, rather than a continuation (pre-emption) of the original Alien.

Did it? I was sure it was around 170? Just checked and it was £179 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4203804.stm (also, the UK did get a bit shafted with that price, haha) There was a psychological factor to the price point, the fact that it was below 200 quid. Think of why many supermarkets sell things for 99p instead of £1 for example, to make things look small. If they retailed at 250, then who's to say that a lot of these consumers wouldn't have just gone and bought a 360? If you charge 250 for a Wii, then a 360 wouldn't have been much more at the time. So, the lower price was essential, in my opinion. Having a home console that's around 100 quid or so cheaper than your rivals is a big advantage. Plus, people were lapping them up and paying stupid prices on sites like Ebay because the system was sold out in stores, and it was notoriously hard to buy the system. (also considering that they launched so close to Christmas, which was very smart) People were ohhing and ahhhing over the fact that it was sold out, and it quickly became the "big thing to have" because everyone wanted one, mostly children as Christmas presents. Having one was seen as an achievement, so they were prepared to pay daft prices on ebay. Not everybody did, however. Just a number of people. The majority still probably paid the lower price for it or just simply waited until more became available. You'd have to be very, very desperate to pay £400 for it. Would you have paid 400 for a Wii? I'd have probably bought a 360 at the time or just waited for an uber price drop. About the DSi:There's another thing, who's also to say that Nintendo won't later on (say, half a year's time) release a reiteration of the 3DS? I was a bit dubious about the DSi before it's launch, particularly with regards to how long it would be before the eventual successor to the DS came. The DSi was like a half-step. I just wonder how long it'll be before we see a 3DS 2.0 or something, which will be annoying if you've already spent 150 quid on a system and then see a new one come out pretty soon after. They're somewhat annoying when they do this, Nintendo are.

I wouldn't at £170. Don't really care just how good it is, 170 or above for a handheld console is insane. Considering most of us bought our Wiis for 9 quid more than that. They'd be shooting themselves in the arse if they sold it at such a high price. The PSP retailed at around that price as well in the UK, I think. Put me right off straight off. I'd be a bit disappointed if they suddenly decided to charge a high price for the system, considering the Wii, Cube and DS were relatively nicely priced. 150, at a push is probably the highest I'd be prepared to pay for it. Unless you had to pay a bit more and got a game or two with it, which would be quite nice. I'd expect GAME and certain places to do something like that.
-
Heh, did the rest of Europe get shafted with that price? It works out almost 30 quid more. Unless I got my initial price wrong of 99 quid. Saying that, has the Wii's price even changed after all this time? So, it wouldn't seem that shocking if Nintendo charged that much, although I think it'll be a bit cheaper. I reckon 140 sounds like a decent price? I personally wouldn't pay more than that for a handheld.
-
Dammit, Ridley. Why are you intent on destroying one of the best mysteries in Sci-Fi/Film history? Alien doesn't need a prequel. Nevermind two. It has never needed one and never will need one. It's a story that is better left to the imagination. Maybe a fresh new Alien tale would be better. But, an official prequel to the first is not something that I particularly want.

Wasn't Nintendo's mantra with the Cube and Wii to keep the price affordable? I think they were £129 and £179 respectively (if I remember right). So, I agree with you, I also hope they don't charge an insane amount for the system. Although I'm hopeful they won't. 300 dollars seems too high. Far too high for my liking. Wasn't the DS around 99 quid or something around there when it launched in Europe? I'd say maybe...around £140. Maybe a bit more or a bit less. That's my guess. For a handheld console, 140 seems ok considering its features?

I've been ill since Thursday. I was in work and feeling completely sexy until about 10 oclock. Suddenly, I was Down with the Sickness. Nose was a bit blocked for a few days, but suddenly got worse. Head started to thump and my throat felt really, really sore. Fast forward about two hours later and my body felt really stiff and achy. I had packed my bag to go to the gym straight after work, but went home instead. Didn't eat at all yesterday and was a little sick. Then, woke up today and don't feel too much pressure in my head, but my throat aches like hell. Also, there's a somewhat noticeable lump on the right side. So, some kind of infection I think. Greeeeeeat.
