  1. As if this would have actually happened and stayed exclusive. Particularly during the GameCube era with the whole Capcom 5 farce.
  2. Absolutely delighted with that win. Ask Ine, I must have changed my formation or tactics about a dozen or so times before the game. You're a good player of the game and you're climbing the league table, so I knew I had to get this right. I was probably more worried about getting thrashed more than anything. I watched the game in work and after you scored in the 7th minute, I thought sheeeeeeeeeeeeet. Then, there were long periods where the game was 1-0 to you and I had chances, so I believed I could get something. I almost blew the roof down when we got the equaliser and then that penalty. Probably my proudest moment so far! I hope you get in the top 3 and promoted. But, I would definitely miss playing you next season. It's been 2 terrific games. Dramatic!
  3. Have decided that these last three games are not going to make a huge difference to me. I've pretty much done what I set out to do, which was to begin to mould a decent team and put in some good performances. These next three games are all about the DV for me. Plus, I imagine I'll lose all three games anyway.
  4. Just counted my games. Skyward Sword is my 37th Wii game. Definitely the highest number of games I've ever had for a system. Probably my favourite ever console in terms of diversity and the amount of awesome experiences I've had with it. There's still a dozen or more other games I'm still on the lookout for, which includes Galaxy 2, Xenoblade and one of the Pro Evo games.
  5. I was told by a Spanish native it meant Little Black Man, but Blacky is not really that far off. Still, given the context of when it was said, I still say it's a stupid thing to say. The silver lining in all of this is that Blatter is now under a tiny bit of pressure to go.
  6. I find your lack of faith disturbing. Don't forget that you are talking to Mr. Long-Distance Relationship, here. Abstinence is my middle name. (or one of the 10) So, I now have it. The Gold Wiimote is sweet as Jesus. I do think I'm doing the right thing by not playing it right away, as I'm knackered and just really don't have the time to sit down and enjoy this. Christmas it is. I'll get the Mother to cook me some roast chicken and mince pies when I head over that way. Bliss.
  7. I wouldn't put anything past him. Can definitely say that I wouldn't be shocked if it did turn out to be true. He's a great defender, but a huuuuuuuuuuge arsehole. Wouldn't trust my cat with him.
  8. You can't be 100% sure, because the two were playing in a derby, for rival teams and they were hardly being "friendly" to each other throughout the whole game. Like I said, it was a fierce game. I imagine they said a few things that were nasty to each other. Sorry dude, but that's a bullshit argument. With that same logic, we can never ever accuse John Terry or any English player of being a racist. Anyway, the FA will find a way to drop it. They seemed to kept this reasonably quiet so far, and there seems to be more focus on the John Terry case. Can't see them taking action in both cases, for some reason.
  9. Means absolutely nothing. The game was taking place in Liverpool, not in South America, and Suarez used the term when speaking to a Black Frenchman of Senegalese descent. Clearly the two are not friends, and they were playing for rival teams in a famous derby, notorious for being quite fierce. So, I think it's pretty obvious Suarez was doing it to wind Evra up. Either way, Suarez is a very, very stupid man for even thinking about using a word that does have connotations against a rival. Using the word with your best friend, maybe. Using a word that translates to "little black man" against a rival. Well, make up your own mind with that one. The word might be used as an affectionate term, but it can also be used for derogatory purposes. Think of the word "nigga" and how in some cases, you can use it (maybe) when talking to friends, but it can also mean an insult. That's language for you. All about the intent of the word.
  10. Well done, Murrrrrr. Congratulations!
  11. Not entirely true. I studied Spanish and am trying to get back into it at the moment, and I've never heard of Negrito being used as mate or friend. Just looked it up, it actually means "little black one" in the technical sense. It can be used as a term of endearment, but so can a lot of other words. I still think Evra is just winding people up with this one. He probably doesn't even give a shit.
  12. My Hero:heart: My favourite New Order song is Ceremony. It just sounds so beautiful. You can hear the words of Ian Curtis through Bernard Sumner. It's the perfect bridge between the two bands. I agree with Thom Yorke on this one, I think. The music that you create is very special, and it would be a shame if a song like, for example, Ceremony is remembered purely for being in a car advert or something. I don't think it automatically makes you a bad person or a bad music artist if somebody wants to use your song in an advert and you say yes. It shows that people admire your song in the first place to ask such a thing. Also, whether you say yes or no, people are going to criticise you for it anyway. They'll either criticise you for being a sell-out, or argue that you're over-protective of your work, or arrogant.
  13. The article was focusing on the Stretford End in particular, and the Kop End at Anfield. Hard to argue that those two sections are quiet. Checked the BBC Sport site this morning to see that Carlos Tevez has yet again failed to turn up to training. I find it funny how it's not even a big issue anymore. It's almost the expected thing. "Yeah, he's in Argentina, agaaaain. He'll go soon, we promise, we just need someone to come in with a 50 million bid....any minuuute now."
  14. I hear you, bro. I was in the second year of Uni when that came out. Since then, I have changed City/Towb twice, traded in the girlfriend for a European model (), graduated and got a job. When the next Zelda arrives, I may have kids.
  15. I'm with you there. It's really fucking annoying. We have two Zelda threads. Both clearly marked. Judging by some of the spoilers in here, I imagine it's a landmine in there.
  16. I'm with both Ine and Coolness and side with the Fleet Foxes. Birdy clearly has a nice voice, but that's not enough for me. Music has to be soulful and it needs to fill the room. The Fleet Foxes original feels like it's lighting up the whole room, whereas I feel nothing from the Birdy cover. Not really compelled to listen to it again. Anyway, the Fleet Foxes are one of "Ine's Bands" that she made me listen to a while back, and I've loved them ever since. Never heard a bad or below par song from them. I urge you all to listen to them.
  17. It did add something, but if we look at MKWii and see how that has progressed from Double Dash, I don't think they went down the right route. Mario Kart is a pretty simple game. All we really need are new modes, great but fun tracks to race on and karts that handle well. Oh, and balance. What I will give Double Dash is that the majority of the time, if you were the better driver, you would win the race. Can't have many complaints with that. MKWii seems to be a little too random in that respect. Anyone can win. Which does take some of the fun away from it, in some ways. Edit: One other thing that is really, really baffling is how Nintendo approached the multiplayer modes of this game. Namely, the fact that they included LAN Support, but not online. It could have been the game to really kick-start Nintendo's online plan, but instead they gave the game a mode that nobody really wanted and very few had the opportunity to use. A massive opportunity wasted.
  18. Fuck yeah, look at Dragooooo! Number 10. All we need now is to acquire a very rich Arab Businessman, and we will be able to climb. CLIMB. CLIMB! DRAGOOOOO!
  19. Don't really see how it could be better in multiplayer if the problems are to do with the uninspiring tracks, handling and just overall meh-ness. I played a fair bit of multiplayer on it and it never truly grabbed me. Then, DS came out and I've never looked back since. Much better in single and in multiplayer. Only let down by a bizarre online Friend-Finding system. 1 2 1 no connection! 2 1 3! Hurrrray.
  20. I've emailed them your bank account details, too. But changed the shipping address to mine.
  21. Why is this bullshit always in dollars? *looks at the name* U BAD?
  22. People say I'm ahead of my him, too.
  23. Ah, Bloc Party are one of my favourite bands. Dislike The Strokes and Fightstar, though. The Strokes in particular. But, you make up for it with Bloc Party, who are a billion times more talented and just better in every way. Excited for the new stuff as well. Normally, I would be all "yes, subjective, etc" about this whole thing. But, I'm gonna be an arsehole and say this isn't subjective at all. It's a proven fact that Ok Computer is awesome. It's a very important album and one of the most important albums of the last few decades. Without that album, some of the bands we listen to today probably would sound a whole lot different. The sound they brought through, particularly with The Bends and Ok Computer allowed for other bands to be "accepted" into the mainstream. Funny enough, Bloc Party are one of those bands. It's an iconic sound. Maybe you'll find more joy in The Bends. It's possibly a bit easier to get into than Ok Computer. Each album has a different sound, which is part of their signature.
  24. It's just very unmemorable. The double-team design of the entire game isn't really that great and it didn't really achieve much. The choice of kart designs was good, but the track designs to race them on was pretty poor, in my opinion. I think Mario Kart DS was a far superior game, despite running on inferior hardware. That game had a lot of tracks and karts to choose from, and importantly, it kept the game simple, but fun. Something I don't think Double Dash or Wii managed to do. Hope the inevitable WiiU version is much, much better than those two. Otherwise, no sale for me.
